Up for your consideration is a extremely nice well kept original 1972 f-100 Sport custom short bed. This truck has been in Georgia for many years and always garage kept or under shelter from the outside elements while not in use. This truck starts, runs, and drives great with a factory stout 360 big block backed behind a fully functional manual 3 speed transmission. The truck still retains the factory column shift which shifts great with absolutely no problems. Truck starts every time with the added electronic ignition, brand new carburetor, complete tune up kit including wires, plugs, new battery, new water pump, battery cables, alternator, all new hoses etc..Engine looks great and has been detailed fairy well with no major leaks and does not smoke at all!! All the fluids have been changed recently.  New master cylinder so the brakes are all in great working order as they should be. New dual exhaust with factory exhaust manifolds. The interior is almost perfect considering the age of the truck. The dash itself is perfect and has never been cut. The dash pad is perfect and the seat was just reupholstered .Factory installed seat belts along with a modern AM/FM player that works great. Heater works great with all new heater hoses and heater core installed. All the glass is perfect original condition with no cracks or frosting. The truck still retains some factory carlite glass in most places. This truck is absolutely amazing everything works top to bottom except for the gas gauge at times can be temperamental. All the lights including the side marker lights, tail lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, wipers, back up lights, tag lights etc.. work perfectly.  As far as the body I guarantee you wont be disappointed! All the chrome seems to be present and in really good original condition The body of the truck is very straight and has no rust holes anywhere except one small hole on the front lower fender passenger side.  The inside of the bed is mint condition with NO rust at all. The bed sides are perfect. Near Perfect floor pans, front body mounts, tailgate, hood, core support etc.. I have included some pictures down below of all these areas. I just drove this truck 80 miles with absolutely no problems. Tires have plenty of tread left and It will also come with a full size spare tire.  This truck is good to go mechanically needing nothing but a driver. Although not a frame off restoration, this truck still gets more comments than you would ever believe!! The previous owner loved this truck and took it to plenty of local car shows in the Atlanta area. This is one of the nicest meticulous maintained  67-72 ford truck unrestored body's that I have seen in years. So good luck and you don't want to miss this one! Low reserve and remember its only well kept and original one time.

Truck may be for sale/trade locally so I have the rite to end auction early if sold. When reserve is met it will be sold here only.
I have described the truck to the best of my knowledge. But if you have questions please ask before you bid and only bid if you plan to pay!
500.00 deposit due rite after auction ends unless other arrangements discussed previously.

Truck will be sold with a good clear Georgia title along with a Georgia bill of sale. Also included will be the original 72' owners manual.

Recharge Wrap-up: Daimler spending big for fuel cells, Ford Go!Drive experiment advances

Fri, Mar 20 2015

Ford's Go!Drive experiment is entering its beta phase in London. The project, which is one of the automaker's global smart mobility experiments, uses a mobile app for on-demand carsharing of Ford Focus Electric and Ford Fiesta vehicles. The beta phase involves increasing the number of available vehicles from 20 to 50, and collecting new data from users. The program offers one-way rentals and guaranteed parking, with no membership fees and a cost of 26 cents per minute. Ford hopes to get 2,000 drivers involved in the program. Read more at Green Car Congress. Daimler will invest billions of dollars to upgrade the Mercedes-Benz Unterturkheim plant over the next few years. This year alone, it plans to spend $1.06 billion. The company expects cost savings "in the range of hundreds of millions of euros until 2020," while maintaining its workforce of 18,700 employees and adding 150 vocational training positions. The upgrades will allow the plant to become a center for building more efficient engines, hybrid powertrains and fuel cell systems. "Alternative drive systems are an important element of our future mobility," says Mercedes-Benz's Markus Schafer. "Their share of automotive production is set to steadily rise over the next few years, complementing our highly efficient engines within the portfolio. This is what we have laid the groundwork for today." Read more at Reuters, or in the press release below. The Department of Energy is providing $20 million in funding for the development of more efficient high speed industrial motors and drives. Ditching old motors and gearboxes for ones that use integrated power electronics could help decrease the energy consumption of the industrial sector, which currently uses more than 25 percent of the electricity generated in the US. The projects being funded will reduce losses and decrease the size of drive systems used in industries like petroleum refining and natural gas, which could affect the lifecycle efficiency of transportation fuels. Why the Detroit Three should merge their engine operations

Tue, Dec 22 2015

GM and FCA should consider a smaller merger that could still save them billions of dollars, and maybe lure Ford into the deal. Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne would love to see his company merge with General Motors. But GM's board of directors essentially told him to go pound sand. So now what? The boardroom battle started when Mr. Marchionne published a study called Confessions of a Capital Junkie. In it, Sergio detailed the amount of capital the auto industry wastes every year with duplicate investments. And he documented how other industries provide superior returns. He's right, of course. Other industries earn much better returns on their invested capital. And there's a danger that one day the investors will turn their backs on the auto industry and look to other business sectors where they can make more money. But even with powerful arguments Marchionne couldn't convince GM to take over FCA. And while that fight may now be over, GM and FCA should consider a smaller merger that could still save them billions of dollars, and maybe lure Ford into the deal. No doubt this suggestion will send purists into convulsions, but so be it. The Detroit Three should seriously consider merging their powertrain operations, even though that's a sacrilege in an industry that still considers the engine the "heart" of the car. These automakers have built up considerable brand equity in some of their engines. But the vast majority of American car buyers could not tell you what kind of engine they have under the hood. More importantly, most car buyers really don't care what kind of engine or transmission they have as long as it's reliable, durable, and efficient. Combining that production would give the Detroit Three the kind of scale that no one else could match. There are exceptions, of course. Hardcore enthusiasts care deeply about the powertrains in their cars. So do most diesel, plug-in, and hybrid owners. But all of them account for maybe 15 percent of the car-buying public. So that means about 85 percent of car buyers don't care where their engine and transmission came from, just as they don't know or care who supplied the steel, who made the headlamps, or who delivered the seats on a just-in-time basis. It's immaterial to them. And that presents the automakers with an opportunity to achieve a staggering level of manufacturing scale. In the NAFTA market alone, GM, Ford, and FCA will build nearly nine million engines and nine million transmissions this year.

This Or That: Fiat 500 Abarth vs. Ford Fiesta ST [w/poll]

They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.
