Up for sale is a 1970 Ford F-100 Styleside custom lwb truck with a big block. This pick up was fully restored and documented with a book of receipts. All work was performed by Street Pro Auto Rod & Truck Center in Ramona, CA. The engine is a fully built Ford 460 bored 60 over with a C-6 3 speed trans. Here is a list of mods done to the drive train. -Crower 16903 Beast Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cams -DynoMax 89016 Performance Exhaust 2.25” -Edelbrock 2166 Performer intake manifold -B&M 40281 C-6 Deep oil pan -Lokar KD-20C6ht Performance Hi-Tech Kickdown Kit -Doug Thorley 214Y-F14-C Performance Headers w/Jet Hot coating-Mallory 605 Ignition Module-Mallory 29440 Promaster Ignition Coil-MSD 3138 Heli-Core Solid Suppression Ultra temp wires-Crower 73617-16 Enduro Stud Mount Roller Rocker Arms-Melling M84DHV High-Volume Oil Pump- Mallory 5056701H Magnetic Breakerless Electronic Ignition System- Weiand 8211 Action-Plus Aluminum Water Pump - Vista-Pro 433433 Ready-Rad Aluminium Radiator-Port and Polished Heads by Street Pro Auto Rod & Truck-Holley 850 Double Pumper Carburetor-Eagle Performance Forged Crankshaft-ARP Performance Bolts-KB 137.060 Performance Flat top pistons-Scat 66605 Connecting RodsIm sure im missing some parts here and there. This was not a “run of the mill” type of build. Everything was professionally installed and tuned. Engine is pushing 500hp on current mild tune which can (but I would not) run on 87 pump gas (91 recommended). The restoration began in August 2000 and was completed by July 2003 so basically an 11 year old truck. Miles on motor and chassis are 14,815 give or a take a mile or two since I do drive it around town on the weekends. The paint was also done at Street Pro Auto Rod & Truck. It’s a three stage paint job that still looks great. The paint job cost $3,774.09 in total. Have the receipts to prove it. Didn’t take much prep work since it has been a black plate original California Truck its whole life. Yes, I said original Black Plates since the day it was purchased new from the Ford dealer. One thing that’s nice about the paint job was that the flames were added after the fact. Meaning they were painted on top of the blue clear coat. I have not attempted removing but from what I’m told this is possible without damaging the original blue underneath. The interior is in good shape. Like a mentioned previously it is a 11 year old restoration/hot rod truck so there is some wear. The carpet will need to be replaced in my option. It has seen better days but I have already received a quote to replace the carpet for $200. All original gauges work other then the engine temp and volt meter. As you can see in the pictures they have been upgraded to aftermarket Auto Gage cluster which monitors oil pressure, volts, water temp and trans temp. All gauges work and light up at night when the headlights are turned on. As far as the sound system goes it consists of a Sony radio with a 10 disc cd changer. There are 6x9 speakers in both the driver and passenger doors. Behind the driver and passenger seats there are two MTX 10” subwoofers in separate boxes along with tweeters built in. Sounds amazing...Moving on to the exterior. The truck is sitting on Cragar wheels with Mickey Thompson 6559 Sportsman PRO 29x18.50 rear tires and Uniroyal 195/65r15 front tires. The rears are extremely wide and add to the aggressive look. The rear end is 9 inch Ford which im not sure of the gearing. All chrome around the entire vehicle looks great. The door handles are showing some pitting and will need to be either replaced or re chromed. The bed of the truck is in awesome shape with a spray in bed liner and dual gas tanks.I have added up all receipts that I have totalling $19,137.48 which does not include the truck, purchase of the 460 and the interior work which these were all paid with cash. Truck has current registration which just got paid till June 30, 2015. I have the pink slip in hand so please have the cash in yours. If there are any more questions that you might have please feel free to contact me. Good luck and happy bidding. On Jul-05-14 at 17:51:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Added a video on YouTube of the truck running so you can get a feel for the sound. Truck is running a little rich so you will see some blue smoke when i give it gas. Runs perfect and if you dont mind 8 mpg you can use it as a daily driver. http://youtu.be/i6JI72ZqDQI |

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.
How privacy fears are driving automakers in the age of the connected car [w/poll]
Wed, Aug 27 2014A recent GAO report concluded car companies don't adequately disclose how and why they share location data. As cars collect and store more and more data about the whereabouts of their drivers, automakers are responding to critics who say they should be more transparent about how those details are used. Ford is hiring a global privacy policy attorney to craft the company's customer privacy policies in the era of connected and autonomous cars. "In this emerging space, there is an important need to address customer privacy policies," reads a job description posted on the "people and careers" portion of the company's website. "As part of our compliance and ethics organization at Ford, this person will have an immediate and direct impact in shaping existing and future policy and corporate thinking in this area." Ford is creating the new position, based at its Dearborn headquarters, at a time technology advances are outpacing privacy protections. Earlier this year, a report from the federal government concluded car companies don't adequately disclose to motorists how and why they share location data. That report, from the Government Accountability Office, found many car companies did not describe how they shared location data, did not allow consumers to request their data be deleted and that there was a "wide variation" in how car companies retained vehicle-specific or identifiable location data. It noted there is increased risk of location data being used in ways "consumers did not intend." Ford was one of 10 companies the GAO surveyed while compiling its report. Customers are opting to share that data largely by using features like maps and turn-by-turn direction that are run by a vehicle's telematics unit. Depending on the company, it can be unclear how that data is collected, retained or shared. At the time the GAO report was issued, AAA, the nation's largest motoring club, urged carmakers to be more transparent in how they handle data and to offer stronger security protections. Shaping Autonomous Car Regulations At Ford, the new hire could change how the company handles that data. According to the job description, the successful applicant will, "demonstrate visionary thinking around privacy strategy – imagine how consumer and employee expectations around privacy may evolve and how business should adapt, develop approaches that maximize the benefit of data sharing for consumers and business, etc." (Emphasis from Ford).
Ward's announces 10 Best Engines 2015
Wed, Dec 10 2014Ward's Auto has named its 10 Best Engines for 2015, covering a range of powerplants from fuel-sippers to fire-breathers. As with past years, forced-induction reigns supreme, with seven of the ten engines featuring a turbo or supercharger. This year is slightly different, though, as two of the seven blown engines are turbocharged three-cylinder mills, from the Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper. They're joined by the 2.0-liter turbo four from the Volvo S60, the 1.8-liter turbo four from the Volkswagen Jetta and the 2.0-liter boxer from the Subaru WRX. BMW and Chrysler were the only marques to be named to this year's list twice, with the electric motor from the i3 joining the Mini's three-pot, and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee repping the diesel crowd, alongside a certain supercharged monster. Hyundai also took a prize with a zero-emissions powertrain, with the Tucson FCV's 100-kilowatt fuel cell making the list (apparently Ward's is quite generous with what it deems an "engine"). Rounding out the list are two Autoblog favorites, each displacing 6.2 liters, but producing their power very differently. On the one hand, Chevrolet's overhead-valve, 455-horsepower V8, found in the Corvette, makes its power the old fashioned way. And in the other corner, we have one of the most exciting engines of the year – the 707-hp, 6.2-liter, supercharged Hellcat V8, featured so prominently in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat. "We spend a lot of time reading the powertrain tea leaves throughout the auto industry, and we're proud that this year's list is a microcosm of all the latest innovation coming from automakers," said Ward's Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter in a statement. "It's not just a list for enthusiasts or for environmentalists," he says. "There's something for every vehicle shopper and every budget. All the powertrains on this list deliver a first-rate driving experience," Winter added. Scroll down for the full list from Ward's, and let us know which engines you think belong and which should have been included in this year's rankings.
