1966 Ford F-100 (rare 4-wheel Drive) 390cu V8 Big Block on 2040-cars
Hollywood, Florida, United States

Hello. I am selling my 1966 Ford F-100. The truck is about 3/4 restored and is ready to drive home. It's a real eye catcher. Loud, flashy, and fast. Here are some bullet notes: * Engine starts right up and runs like a beast. Seriously...it runs like a raped ape. I have to start in 2nd gear because there's just too much power in 1st gear. * Newer upholstery - matching exterior paint scheme * I just replaced the pitman arm and steering box in February of this year. The steering needs to be tightened up just a bit though. It's a little loose. * Truck runs smooth on the highway. It can easily cruise at 80mph. * I put in a new Edelbrock carburetor (replaced the manual carburetor) * 4 speed on the floor manual transmission 390CU V8 big block * 1966 F100 on a F250 chassy * Long bed with passenger side locking tool box * RARE factory 4x4 with locking hubs...but the front drive shaft and transfer case have been removed for 2wd only. I do not have them. * The locking hubs rotate easily * New 35 inch BF Goodwrich All Terrain tires * Guy I bought it from in November just serviced the brakes, engine, new air cleaner, new battery, new front bumper. * The body has some rust spots but overall it's in VERY good condition. * The body is straight. (The gaps are even on both sides where the tail gate meets the bed) * Factory A/C blower * Suspension lift (Not sure hot many inches but it's very tall) * No rips or tears in the seats. * Custom roll bar * Tow package * Rust is absent or minimal on the "usual" spots that these models are prone to. (Driver and passenger outside feet area by that vent) * Wipers have been disconnected because they won't turn off. I never had time to figure out why they don't work properly * The truck isn't perfect...but it's running and just needs some TLC. Why am I selling it: I changed jobs to stay Stateside and was going to use it as my daily driver. But my local job fell through and I'm back working overseas. My plan was to slowly restore it over the next few years. But since I'm back working overseas...I really don't need this project anymore. I bought the truck at the end of 2013 from a dealer in Daytona. I really only owned it for a few months. I really don't want to sell it but I'm out of the country for several months at a time. There's no need for this kind of project. The truck is currently at my dad's house in Davie, FL. He'll be showing the truck. Disclaimer: I am listing this truck locally and it also has a 'For Sale' sign in it. I'll remove the E-bay listing if I sell it locally. I am not a moto-gear head. I might be missing some minor detail that needs replaced or fixing. But the truck, overall, is in GREAT condition. Please feel free to ask me any questions and thanks for looking. Scott |

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals
Sun, Mar 3 2024EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment. But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles. Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
Ford recalls over 500,000 trucks and SUVs, including Explorer, F-150, and Lincoln Aviator
Fri, Aug 30 2019For the second time in a month, Ford is recalling the brand-new 2020 Explorer and 2020 Lincoln Aviator for minor safety issues. This recall, which also affects certain 2018-2020 Ford F-150s, 2019-2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Ford Explorers, and 2019-2020 Ford Expeditions, pertains to potentially faulty seat-back reclining mechanisms. In total, the recall touches 550,186 vehicles. A mechanical part meant for relaxation and comfort has the Ford Motor Company stressin'. Ford says potentially affected vehicles might be missing the "third pawl required for seat-back strength" in the reclining mechanisms on certain seats. Because of this, the seats might not properly keep a person in place during the event of a crash or otherwise. In the F-150s, F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Explorers, and Expeditions, the recall affects vehicles with manual driver and/or front passenger seat-back recliners. On the 2020 Explorers and Lincoln Aviators, rear outboard seats with manual recliners are of concern. Of the more than 550,000 vehicles, 483,325 vehicles are in the United States, 58,712 are in Canada and 8,149 are in Mexico. Thus far, Ford is not aware of any injuries from the issues. Ford says it expects most vehicles will not need repair, but dealers will inspect the seat structures out of precaution. If fault is found, dealers will replace the seat structure altogether. For this recall, Ford's reference number is 19C07. Contact your dealer for more information. Featured Gallery 2020 Ford Explorer View 47 Photos Recalls Ford Lincoln Truck SUV
