The exterior showcases beautiful two-tone Caribbean Turquoise & Wimbleton White paint with Custom Cab trim. These are the correct colors for this truck, confirmed by the trim tag. The body itself has always been a dry climate, cared for truck. The paint and body are in excellent condition.
This truck is a pleasure to drive. The interior features restored OEM-style cloth & vinyl silver-thread turquoise upholstery in a beautifully restored cab. The dash was disassembled and the cluster sent off for restoration. The headliner has been replaced. The door panels and rubber seals were also replaced along with the carpeting. The low-profile air conditioning system is by Vintage Air. The windshield wipers have been upgraded. Power Windows has also been installed along with a custom CD Stereo & tasteful speakers. This truck is NICE.
Under the hood is the rebuilt 390 cubic inch V8. This remanufactured engine is by Jasper Performance. Induction is courtesy of an aluminum Edelbrock high-rise intake manifold & Holley 750 dual-line 4bbl. carburetor. This is a strong running engine with adjustable rocker arms & hydraulic lifers. The ignition system has been upgraded with a Petronix unit inside the original distributor & 8mm wires. Exhaust gases are expelled in a hurry through Hedman long-tube headers to a stainless 2.5 inch dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers.
Many of our photos of this beauty were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. Be sure to visit our friends at the Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas.
You just can't have a better choice of wheels than these color-keyed factory 15-inch stockers with wheel covers, beauty rings & radial tires all around. The brake system has been upgraded throughout with disc in the front, stainless steel lines & reconditioned rear drums.
The bed features a spray-in bedliner and large diamond plate tool box along with diamond plate protection around the bed edges & recessed cargo hooks. This is a bed setup to use if so desired. You could always haul trophies.
The undercarriage shows a slew of work performed throughout along with solid flooring, framework, and cab corners. The shocks were replaced on all 4 corners. An air bag kit was installed in the rear for extra support. The rear leaf springs have also been replaced. The king pins & front sway bar were replaced. the tie rod ends and control arms were also replaced. Again, this one was restored with drivability in mind.
Further inspection of the engine compartment will showcase solid and detailed original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. A mini-starter has been installed. The alternator was replaced. A later 7-blade clutch fan was installed for reliable cooling. The valve covers & air cleaner are custom finished.
This is a very nice truck. The glass is in excellent condition, the rubber and seals were replaced and a tinted windshield installed. A custom rear glass decal was also put in place.
This instrument cluster was sent off and completely restored.
The door panels are in excellent condition. The power window units are by Electric-Life. They are un-obtrusive and work great.
The headliner was replaced.

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them. I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.
They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different. If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.
I'm not overly inclined to professional jealousy, as a rule. Sure, I go a bit green around the eyes when Ramsey draws the 911 GT3 trip to Weissach, Harley is tapped-in to drive a completely stunning Porsche 911 by Singer, or, you know, Drew Phillips gets to shoot a Lamborghini Veneno in the middle of a desert like some sort of sheik. I hate you guys... Honestly though, one of the new car events that dug me the most, was when our Steven J. Ewing got to fling the Ford Fiesta ST around some hot corner of Europe. What goes around comes around, I suppose, as Mr. Ewing himself espoused an envious nature of the Focus ST trip that came before. The good news in all this covetous intra-office behavior? All the cars mentioned, and specifically the Fiesta ST, are just wonderful to drive. I can say that with more confidence than ever now, having joined Ford for a good bit of Fiesta-flinging myself. In my case, the locale was slightly more pedestrian (Michigan not Portugal), and the car in question was the five-door version of the Fiesta ST that we get here in The States, as opposed to the three-door number they get across the pond.
