Up for sale is this rare classic 1961 Ford F-100 pickup. Restored in 2011 by previous owner which included a new interior and lots of $$ invested in frame, chassis and body work. I was told over $20k was invested (mostly steel) but, in all honesty, I thought that was a gross exaggeration and I did not pay anywhere near that for the truck. What really sets this truck apart is the scissor lift dump bed which is activated by hand using crank or hand drill.

Exterior color is New Holland Red with Limestone trim bumpers and grille. It's a brush and rattle can job that looks great from 20 feet but is what you would expect from close inspection. Still, it's a wonderful driver pickup truck- not a show truck. All tires including spare have good tread and newer original Ford hubcaps for this year.

Three on the tree converted to three on the floor with new trans and clutch in 2011.

Straight Six runs well and just had new plugs with tune-up. New generator, new radiator and numerous other new engine parts. Engine bay is super clean.

Interior is very nice with new bench seat, steering wheel, floor shift and extra gauges. Glass is clear all around and has new seals.

Actual mileage unknown but assumed to be pretty close to the 112,000 miles on the title. **Truck comes with a box of extra parts and a 1961 Ford shop manual and Ford Trim manual.

I bought this truck recently and then a week later found an old Volvo wagon that I had long been searching for. Timing is everything so I'm reluctantly selling and I've fairly priced it to sell fast. Email me for more details or to make arrangements for a test drive prior to purchase.

Autoblog Minute: Ford's EV Consumer Satisfaction Survey

Fri, Aug 21 2015

Survey says, drivers that go green stay green. Ninety-two percent of plugged-in Americans said they planned to buy electric again. Autoblog's Adam Morath reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Survey says, drivers that go green stay green. I'm Adam Morath and this is your Autoblog Minute. Ford commissioned a survey of 10,000 electric vehicle owners, posing the question: What would will you buy next? 92 percent of plugged-in Americans said they planned to buy electric again, citing a preference for clean tech and the instant power provided by an electric motor. But what about drivers who live in states with fewer or no plug-in incentives? [00:00:30] Autoblog spoke with Stephanie Janczak who works with electric vehicle technology at Ford: [00:01:00] [STEPHANIE JANCZAK INTERVIEW] Low gas prices and rising truck sales may have stalled EV adoption in the U.S. but Ford's survey shows high satisfaction amongst current EV customers. Begging the question, what will you buy next? Let us know in the comments. For Autoblog, I'm Adam Morath. Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Each segment offers a quick and clear picture of what's happening in the automotive industry from the perspective of Autoblog's expert editorial staff, auto executives, and industry professionals.

Xcar shows how to drive the Ford Model T

Wed, Jan 21 2015

A couple of weeks ago Xcar posted a teaser review of the Ford Model T, a look at what the British duo would have been doing if they'd been doing their thing for 100 years. Now we have their complete, 12-minute take on the what might be, as they say, "arguably the most important car of the 20th century." Thankfully, instead of just a review, Xcar spends about half the time giving us a tour of history, from Ford's early days working for the Edison Illuminating Company to his racing days and founding of several car companies that either died or became other car companies after he left, like Cadillac. They also line up the pieces and the sales realities that led to Ford implementing – not creating, mind you – assembly-line production of the Tin Lizzie. And then they get into how crazy it is to drive, like how a driver needs two of the three pedals, the handbrake lever and a steering column stalk to get into high gear. Enjoy the video above on a 100-year-old car that is "unbelievably comfortable," "mildly terrifying" and ready to do just about anything.

More 2015 Ford Mustang pricing information leaks [UPDATE]

Tue, 20 May 2014

The big news this morning was that the 2015 Ford Mustang would start at $24,425, including its destination pricing. The big news this afternoon is, well, bigger.
Mustang6G.com has come up with what it claims is pricing info for the entire Mustang line, rather than just the V6. That means we know all about the EcoBoost and GT prices now, which, when combined with the dealer order sheets we reported on last week, gives us our clearest look yet at how the Mustang can be outfitted (we're still a bit short on pricing info for some standalone options, like paint premiums and such).
The base EcoBoost starts at $25,995, while the GT rings up at $32,925.
