Up for your consideration is our Explorer Limited 4x4. The reason for sale is we just purchased a new vehicle. I bought the truck in March of 2011 with 135k miles on it. It came from Ohio and already had some corrosion in the same places I have mentioned in the condition section. When I bought it, I had the following items replaced as they were worn or it was past due. Double platinum spark plugs, serpentine belt, both front wheel hub assemblies, rear ABS sensor, front lower ball joints, rear pinion seal, pressure transducer switch. At 140k, I had to replace the alternator. The OEM aluminum clad with chrome rims were peeling and looked awful to me. At 151k miles, I replaced the rims, tires and rear spring / shock assemblies. At 158k miles, the battery was repaced. All oil changes since I have owned the vehicle have been done with full synthetic oil. Interior is nice. Everything on the vehicle works, but I will list what I see as the negatives as I do not want you to have any surprises like I had when I had to purchase all the things above right away after having a safety check performed. The driver side speaker does not seem to be correct. It will come and go at times volume wise. Not sure if it is a connection at the speaker or radio, but it was not enough of a nuisance for me to pursue. When I had the rims replaced, the Ford dealer moved the air pressure switches from the old rims to the new rims. One of those must have been damaged because on most trips, the check air pressure message comes on even though the tires are at the correct pressure. It was not worth it to me to pursue a fix. There are some areas on the exterior where it looked like the paint was buffed or rubbed too hard with something, leaving some slight scuffs or color difference in the white. There are places where little chips were touched up. Being pretty picky here, but again I do not want to paint a different picture than what it is. Overall, a very nice and dependable truck for us with all the updates I put in. I did not spend the money for a porter, but the car was washed weekly and kept in my garage since the day we purchased. We were able to seat us and 5 kids with the third row seat. I have included a picture of the window sticker so you can see all the options, easier than listing them all out. 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost flogged and analyzed by Ignition

That blown mill marks the first time since the Mustang SVO of the '80s that a turbo has been fitted under the engine of Ford's pony car.

U.S. automakers unite in opposition to possible Trump vehicle tariffs
Mon, Feb 18 2019WASHINGTON — The U.S. auto industry urged President Donald Trump's administration on Monday not to saddle imported cars and auto parts with steep tariffs, after the U.S. Commerce Department sent a confidential report to the White House late on Sunday with its recommendations for how to proceed. Some trade organizations also blasted the Commerce Department for keeping the details of its "Section 232" national security report shrouded in secrecy, which will make it much harder for the industry to react during the next 90 days Trump will have to review it. "Secrecy around the report only increases the uncertainty and concern across the industry created by the threat of tariffs," the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association said in a statement, adding that it was "alarmed and dismayed." "It is critical that our industry have the opportunity to review the recommendations and advise the White House on how proposed tariffs, if they are recommended, will put jobs at risk, impact consumers, and trigger a reduction in U.S. investments that could set us back decades." Representatives from the White House and the Commerce Department could not immediately be reached. The industry has warned that possible tariffs of up to 25 percent on millions of imported cars and parts would add thousands of dollars to vehicle costs and potentially devastate the U.S economy by slashing jobs. Administration officials have said tariff threats on autos are a way to win concessions from Japan and the EU. Last year, Trump agreed not to impose tariffs as long as talks with the two trading partners were proceeding in a productive manner. "We believe the imposition of higher import tariffs on automotive products under Section 232 and the likely retaliatory tariffs against U.S. auto exports would undermine - and not help - the economic and employment contributions that FCA, US, Ford Motor Company and General Motors make to the U.S. economy," said former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, the president of the American Automotive Policy Council. Some Republican lawmakers have also said they share the industry's concerns. In a statement issued on Monday, Republican Congresswoman Jackie Walorski said she fears the Commerce Department's report could "set the stage for costly tariffs on cars and auto parts." "President Trump is right to seek a level playing field for American businesses and workers, but the best way to do that is with a scalpel, not an axe," she added.
Hands on with Ford Sync 3
Sun, Jun 28 2015It's kind of funny (not funny) how the infotainment systems in our vehicles seem to lag behind the consumer products in our pockets. Long after we had easy-to-use touchscreens on our phones, the glass panels in the center stack of our cars remained obstinately mired in the muck of technology past. We are happy to report it's getting better. We had a chance to go hands-on with the new Sync 3 system from Ford at a technology event. Not once were we struck by the urge to reach out and offer a bit of knuckled encouragement. The processors kept swiping smooth, and the voice recognition could understand even our mumbly mouthings. The voice prompts were certainly fewer and less frustrating than in times past. Ask for the nearest Indian restaurant, and it quickly brought up a list to choose from, ready to offer directions. Want to listen to NPR, just say the word. Sync 3 also improved its ability to get along with others, by which we mean it nicely integrates a range of apps from your phone and can incorporate their individual areas of expertise. With Pandora installed, we could ask for a particular playlist and it would begin streaming. If we wanted a certain artist, it would pull it from the phone's memory upon request.
