I am helping my sister-in-law sell her SUV. She has found the car she wants to buy, but has to sell this first. That is the only reason she is selling this.
It's a navy 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. It is not in perfect shape, but it nice looking and is her daily driver. It is loaded with options, but still needs a little work. It has 189,000 miles on it and is an automatic transmission with a V6.
Here are the extras on it:
4x4
running boards
rear A/C
key pad lock (the numbers on the door to lock/unlock the door)
cd player
power windows/locks/seat
3rd row
towing package.
The things that aren't perfect:
*There is a crack on the back hatch (fairly common in this model)
*the rear AC turns sometimes works and sometimes doesn't
*the back windows don't roll down (they are off track)
*it's an automatic transmission but it shifts hard between 1st and 2nd (all other gears shift fine)
*Service engine light and overdrive light stay on 24/7 but it's a sensor nothing is wrong
*The keypad works, but she had some work done to the steering column a year or so ago and they reprogrammed the code and now she doesnt' know it. The code would need to be reprogrammed for it to work for the new owner.
*There is a divot in the windshield that has been there since she bought it (several years ago)
The 4 wheel drive works good, front air blows cold and heat is hot, and interior is nice and well kept and it has a Clean title. My sister-in-law has 5 kids and this is her daily driver so that should say something about the vehicle. She has just found another SUV she wants to buy and can't have 2.
KBB books it at $4275 in good and $3600 in fair. NADA does clean retail at $5000. We are only asking $3000 because there are some things this will need repaired.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Volvo XC40 revealed | Crossover at the crossroads of style and substance 3 ways the Volvo XC40 is a game-changer Genesis G70 First Drive | An arrow to the heart of the Germans 2018 Audi TT RS Drivers' Notes | Five pots of turbocharged honey 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Quick Spin | This is the AMG GT you want The Ford Ranger Raptor is real, and this is what it might look like
This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like
Sat, 12 Oct 2013Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.
