For sale is a 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with Third Row seating. This vehicle is in very good condition both interior and exterior. The exterior has normal wear like minor scratches and a few small dings expected from a 2002 vehicle. The leather and interior, including carpet, headliner and the rest of the interior are in excellent condition. This vehicle appears to have never been smoked in. Mechanically this vehicle runs great and needs nothing. Here are some items that I have personnally replaced within the last six months. Installed a new fuel pump and filter. Oil and filters changed. New lower radiator hose and new 50/50 coolant. New battery. (New) not reconditioned alternator and new serpentine belt. New ceramic front brakes including new hardware.(Rear brakes were fine). New temperature sending unit. I would judge the tires at about 50 percent wear. There are no problem lights on the dash. There is however a message on in the message center that indicates that there is a door ajar. After trouble shooting the message it is one of the door sensors, This is an inexpensive part to replace and not hard to fix after you determine which of the (5) doors has the bad sensor. This message does not effect the vehicle or the doors in any way. Apparently this is a common problem among this year of Explorers. The only reason that I am selling this vehicle is that I recently bought a new Duramax and I am planning on leasing a smaller vehicle as my daily driver. This is a very good vehicle. Terms of the sale. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hrs of the close of the auction to be paid through PayPal. The balance can be paid in cash. I will accept a cashier check or money order , but they must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. I have a clear title in hand. I also can deliver the vehicle by trailer for a reasonable fee. I also plan on advertising the vehicle locally in a few days and reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells locally. I can also make this a buy it now for the right offer (please no low ball offers). I live about 15 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for looking.

Peel and Ford Transit do a great Austin Powers impression
Tue, May 6 2014It's no secret that the average fullsize cargo van is big. Like, really big. Expressing that size, though, without actually seeing the van in question, is a pretty tall order. When viewed from the right angle, even something as big as a cargo van can appear very small (look up forced perspective, to see what we mean). That's why it's always good to have a second object on hand, to provide a sense of scale. Ford took this simple idea to the extreme, illustrating the size of the new Ford Transit by pulling the world's smallest production car, the Peel P50, nose first into the van's 487-cubic-foot cargo area. That's no big deal, though, right? After all, at just 54 inches long and 39 inches wide, the Peel would fit quite happily in even the smallest fullsize truck bed. Ford takes it a step further, though. With the help of an actual reverse gear (we're guessing this is a CVT-equipped, electric model), the P50 manages to turn itself around and drive out. It does this in less than two minutes. So yeah, the Ford Transit is a pretty big van. Take a look below for the video from Ford. This content is hosted by a third party. Ford, Volvo join Redwood in EV battery recycling push in California
Mon, Feb 21 2022Ford and Volvo will join battery recycling startup Redwood Materials in developing processes, starting in California, to collect end-of-life batteries from electric and hybrid vehicles and recover the materials for use in new batteries, the companies said Thursday. Redwood Materials, co-founded by former Tesla executive JB Straubel, formed an earlier partnership last fall with Ford to develop a “closed loop” or circular supply chain for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, from raw materials to recycling. On Thursday, Redwood Materials said it would work directly with dealers and dismantlers in California to identify and recover end-of-life battery packs. The materials in those packs will be recovered and recycled at Redwood Materials facilities in northern Nevada. U.S. automakers Ford and General Motors Co (GM) have said the battery recycling effort is crucial in efforts to develop a domestic supply chain to meet increasing EV demand. GM and battery partner LG Energy Solution last year announced a partnership with startup Li-Cycle to recycle battery scrap material from Ultium Cells, the GM-LG joint venture that is building battery plants in Ohio, Tennessee and Michigan. Redwood Materials has similar partnerships with battery makers Panasonic in Nevada and Envision AESC in Tennessee, as well as with Amazon. Ford and Amazon are among the investors in Redwood Materials. Reporting by Paul Lienert in Detroit; Editing by Mark Potter Green Ford Volvo Green Automakers Electric
