2004 Ford Excursion Limited Sport Utility 4-door 6.0l Bullet Proof Just Like 7.3 on 2040-cars
Burkeville, Texas, United States
Up for auction is close to mint condition Ford Excursion 4wd with a bullet proof 6.0. When I bought this truck I bought it from Ford in Jacksonville Fl. the original owner traded it in on a new truck. I brought the truck home and my wife wanted a dependable vehicle so as a 28 year ASE certified diesel mechanic I took the truck completely apart and started from the ground up Everything that can be done to a 6.0 has been done to this truck it has all new pistons, rods, cylinder heads, ARP head studs, factory Ford head gaskets, new HPOP, new IPR valve, 4" aluminum exhaust from turbo back with muffler, SCT tuner, EDGE monitor system, EGR delete kit ect.......... I have spent over 8000.00 on this engine not including my labor. we have put 25k on the truck since the work it gets 16mpg city and 19mpg hwy. This past week the A/c compressor started making noise so I ordered a complete new a/c compressor, drier, and orings so it has a completely new a/c system. We have spared no expense on this vehicle and the only reason im selling is my wife wanted to build a new house and I told her to get the house she had to sacrifice her truck. The tires are at about 60 percent. The interior is perfect except for the usual wear on the edge of the driver seat but it is not bad at all. If there is anything else I can tell you or any questions I can answer feel free to call me at 321-360-9572.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
Translogic 177: Ford Research and Innovation Center
Tue, May 26 2015Translogic heads to Ford's Research and Innovation Center in Silicon Valley for a peek behind the scenes at the latest tech being produced by the Blue Oval. We hear why the automaker moved some of its R&D operations from Dearborn, MI to Palo Alto, CA, and get an early look at the all-new Ford GT supercar with Ford CEO Mark Fields. "Coming here to Silicon Valley, we really want to make a lot of progress on mobility, autonomous vehicles, [and] using analytics," said Fields. "So coming to Silicon Valley was ... to go to where the talent is, but also, importantly, to be a part of the community here." As for the GT, Ford's top boss is pleased with the tech driving the forthcoming supercar. "It's really a decades worth of innovation in areas of light-weighting, in areas of EcoBoost engines, and in areas of aerodynamics." Have an RSS feed? Click here to add Translogic.
