selling our 2003 ford excursion 7.3 diesel, very good condition other than general use. it has 142,000 miles and is still being used once a week or so, as it is not a daily driver just a sunday church rig or vacation rig. It has a kenwood navigation system with hands free calling and will control the rear entertainment system. It has a DP tuner six position chip for milage (it hauls my children not a drag racer). I have full service records from our ford garage available upon request. over the last two years it has had new font wheel bearings, ball joints, complete A/C system, injector driver control module, new transmission in june of 13 with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty that has a certificate with vin number on it to go with it, new starter and alternator. once again i have all the service records for proof. The engine was replaced at 90,000 miles by Ford on warranty. it gets serviced every 3500 miles. has trailer brake controller . has front replacement bumper, designed for hitting deer without damaging vehicle. has gibson 4inch turbo back exhaust and a donaldson air cleaner. its a great running rig that i would drive around the world without hesitation but my wife wants something new so we are letting it go. its average milage is 16.3 will get around 21 or 22 at 75mph on the interstate, and will go 1,000 miles on a tank of fuel if you staying on the highway with no around town driving. it has rear airbag suspension that can be aired up under the license plate. has a edge evolution monitor (NOT A EDGE CHIP OR PROGRAMMER). I use it for mileage and exhaust gas temps during mountain driving. has two wireless headsets for the dvd player. third seat that can be removed. catch all floor liners front to back(700.00) for the whole set so these are good floor mats. im sure I am forgetting something so if you have questions please ask you can email me or call my cell at 4024693214 i will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Its a good rig that has never left us sitting and i hate to see it go but like i said the wife wants a new one. also this i have 6 powerstrokes that are used on our farm i have been around them all my life and they get the best care i can put forward, my old 97 f250 has 283,000 miles and never been touched, that was just a example of how i take care of stuff. thanks for looking and contact me any time !!!

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like
Sat, 12 Oct 2013Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.
Where the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X fits into the hierarchy of off-road trucks
Fri, Oct 22 2021The world of off-road pickups sure seems like it's getting crowded, but the reality is that half-ton trucks were always pretty capable, even with what seemed like fairly basic 4x4 packages. It wasn't until recently that manufacturers really started to carve out different off-road niches for their mainstream pickup offerings. With the introduction of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X (alongside its mechanical twin, the Chevy Silverado ZR2), the crowd has grown even thicker. Even we have trouble keeping up with the increased segmentation of off-road pickup trucks, so we threw together this handy guide to help you understand just where these various packages fit into the broader pickup hierarchy. Let's dive in. Your basics If we say "Z71" or "FX4" to you, both will probably ring a bell. That's because they've been around a few days short of forever and their respective customers have grown so used to these package codes that OEMs got into the habit of just plastering them on the side of so-equipped truck beds. Anybody who sells a pickup truck offers some sort of basic off-road prep package like this one. Z71 is found on GM vehicles; FX4 is Ford's. Ram just calls it "Off Road Group," but no matter what you call them, they're all pretty similar. Typical upgrades for this category include some additional ground clearance, a basic all-terrain tire, heavy-duty suspension upgrades and likely either a limited-slip or locking rear differential. These are pretty handy for anything beyond a rutted dirt road. On newer trucks — especially on higher trim levels — you'll probably also get some dedicated off-road drive modes. Mid-range This is where things start to get interesting. To qualify for this category, a locking rear differential is a must. Most of the names in this segment are well-established too, though some (Nissan Titan Pro-4X, anyone?) may not necessarily be on your radar. The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro checks in here, as does the Ram Rebel, Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and GMC Sierra AT4 (no X!). Realistically, if there's somewhere you need to go and one of these trucks won't do it, you might want to consider a helicopter. But it's 2021, and our thirst for capability is strong, so of course, there's a way to spend more of your money on this type of thing. Onward! Entry-hardcore Here we are, the home of the new 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X and Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. This is a tiny niche, otherwise occupied only by the Ford F-150 Tremor.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VI
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
