2002 Ford Excursion on 2040-cars
Stonington, Illinois, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : emmyesstoel@oxfordfans.com . 2002 (LIMITED
EDITION) Ford Excursion with a 7.3L V8 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Engine mated to a newly rebuilt solid 4 speed
automatic transmission. I have all paperwork and warranty information. The transmission shifts great and feels
solid, just like a new one. It starts great, sounds solid, and runs awesome! All original strong running engine
with zero blow-by and fresh oil and filters. This Excursion has been garage kept and is in immaculate condition!
With it's entire life spent in Florida it has been taken great care of both mechanically and cosmetically, free of
rust both on the body and more importantly on the undercarriage. The oil pan in these trucks has always been a
source of expense in northern trucks due to pre-mature rust thru, loss of oil and unexpected engine seizure. Not
this one, the oil and pan and trans pan are rust free and look factory new. The exhaust is factory original and in
great shape. This Ford Excursion comes with the LIMITED Edition package and comes with the following options:
Two-tone Tan leather seats, 2nd row rare and very sought after *Captain Chairs*, heated seats (driver &
passenger), power seats, power pedals, memory seat, dual climate control, 3rd row seating, dual A/C (one for the
rear), 6 disc CD changer, Factory TV/DVD player, back up sensors and factory DVD system with remote. This Excursion
comes with 4 matching Michelin tires that are in great shape. The exterior is in excellent condition (minimal
rock/cracks/chips). The interior is also in excellent shape and all options work. If you have been in the market
for a well taken care of southern kept low mileage BLACK (Limited Edition) 7.3L Excursion this is the one.

2017 Honda Ridgeline enters the landscape block war
Sun, Jun 12 2016In the test of pickup truck beds, if steel is apples and aluminum is oranges, Honda wants you to know that composites are pineapples. Chevy recently performed a test in which its own Silverado was pitted against its most obvious competitor, the Ford F-150. A loader dropped over 800 pounds of landscaping blocks into the two truck beds, and Ford's aluminum bed ended up with more damage than Chevy's steel bed. Check that test out right here. Honda apparently wasn't content to let Chevy throw stones alone. In a new test, the Japanese automaker replicated the block-drop test using its brand-new Ridgeline truck, which features a composite bed. As you'll see in the video above, there was very little damage to the high-strength plastic bed of the Ridgeline after a similar load of landscaping blocks were dropped from a loader. Without being on hand at any of these tests, we can't say with any degree of certainty that they match up in severity. But they all look pretty similar, and this is actually a test that Honda performed in front of journalists ( ourselves included) earlier this year. We visually inspected the composite bed of a Ridgeline after a demonstration just like the one on video above, and can confirm that there was basically no damage to Honda's truck. Chevy went an extra step by flinging a heavy toolbox into the Silverado and F-150; Honda didn't match that particular test. Does any of this matter? That's up to truck buyers and owners to decide, naturally, but we doubt anyone would actually dump a load like this into their own truck. And it's also worth noting that a heavy-duty spray-on bedliner would probably minimize damage to the metal surface below, whether steel or aluminum. If nothing else, it's memorable marketing. Ford taps Canada-based Multimatic to build carbon fiber Ford GT
Mon, Feb 16 2015Ford has given Canadian firm Multimatic the nod to build the carbon fiber body on the new GT – The Blue Oval says it has worked with this company for 30 years. The global supplier provides parts and engineering to various automakers, and while based in Markham, Ontario it has 12 plants in Canada, the US, Mexico, England, and China. When announcing the decision at the Canadian International Auto Show, Ford says it chose them "because they have specialized equipment for carbon fiber production and expertise in carbon fiber assembly," and we've heard that the 600-horsepower coupe will be produced in a purpose-built facility at Ford's factory in Markham. Even better than that – for GT purposes and for possible hints at a Le Mans run – the Multimatic Motorsports division can be contracted for engineering and race team management. They currently produce the Boss 302R racecar in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, worked on the FR500C, and their Multimatic Motorsports Lola B2K/40 won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000. The first models will roll off the line at the end of next year. Production numbers are rumored to be in the low hundreds, with a six-figure price tag around $200,000. They'll go into production in time for some sort of 50th anniversary celebration of the GT40 taking the the top three spots at Le Mans in 1966. Ford forced to recall Escape over fire risk yet again
Tue, 26 Nov 2013Recalls happen. Automakers hope they won't, but they do. And that's alright, for the most part, because cars are designed (and to a large degree still made) by humans, and humans make mistakes. So we forgive them, as long as the problem is resolved. Only in the case of the Ford Escape, the problem seems to keep coming back.
That's why Ford is calling in the Escape yet again due to fire concerns. The issue revolves around problematic fuel lines in 9,469 units manufactured between October 5, 2011, and July 11, 2012, all of which use the 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine.
As you yourself may recall, the Escape was subject to a string of recalls last year that resulted in a $17 million fine. One of them was over this very same issue, which Ford apparently didn't rectify the first time around. Let's hope this time is the last time.
