I built this van, im a Ford Techician. The suspension, Front 4x4 differential is dana 60 with 3.73 gears, rear differential is sterling 10.5 limited slip also 3.73 gears. Both differentials are from a 2007 F250 super duty. The coil springs and radius arms are also from the same truck. New front and rear drive shafts. Transfer case is also Ford 273F. New front and rear shocks. New front steering stabilizer kit with shocks. I did the 4x4 conversion with some help. Ive been a Ford Tech for 14 years specializing in front end and suspension. The 4x4 works great. It has 315-70-17 BFG All Terrain T/A KO Tires. The white paint is original and in very good condition. Custom built full lenght roof rack. Interior is clean and good shape. Clean California Title on hand.

The 7.3 Turbo Power Stroke Diesel runs solid. No leaks no smells no problums. It was State owned and Maintained for most of its miles. Transmission has been rebuilt and shifts as it should. equipped with aftermarket cold air intake and straight pipe exhaust. sounds excellent.  Has Front and Rear Air Conditioning that blows ice cold.  Ive taken this van on road trips. The last road trip was to San Francisco and it did excellent. Gets good fuel milage, combined 18 mpg. Has three rows of seats, so total passengers including driver is eleven. Additional seating for fifteen passengers is possible with an extra rear bench seat.  I can pick you up at the San Diego Airport, so you can drive it home, cross country. Ask questions as im sure i've left something out. Thanks for viewing and good luck.

2013 Shelby 1000 unleashes its 1,200 horsepower ahead of NY show reveal

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

True story: Last fall, I had the opportunity to spend a week with Ford's new 2013 Shelby GT500 - the Blue Oval's factory Mustang with 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque. It's an amazing beast, to be sure. I'm not sure if it was Michigan's damp streets strewn with potholes and wet leaves, but at no point did I ever say to myself, "You know, Ford is on to a really good thing here, but what it really needs is about twice the power." And yet, for people in warmer climes with infrastructure in better nick - or for those whose muscle cars live their lives out on the track, there's apparently sufficient demand to warrant just such a beast.
Quick studies will recall that Shelby American launched its 1000 last year to commemorate its 50th anniversary, but it is returning to the New York Auto Show with a fresh version based on the 2013 GT500 I drove. The 2013 Shelby 1000 whips up 1,200 horsepower on pump gas thanks to beefed-up forced induction, engine internals and cooling. Wisely, it also incorporates an adjustable suspension and big brake package to make sure those ponies have the best chance being safely deployed to the ground.
What price the world's most powerful "production" muscle car? $154,995 for starters - donor GT500 not included. What, no convertible variant?

70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
