See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"No dents, however there are a couple of very minor scratches, and five or six small spots where the car has some minor surface rust. See photos for details. One plugged hole on roof, two on deck lid. Drivers seat has some minor damage near left hinge from wear and tear. Some natural wear and tear throughout vehicle as can be expected with a vehicle used for law enforcement purposes"

This vehicle is very nice and nicer than most you will find on e-bay or Craigslist. Purchased this vehicle January, 2012, drove daily. Transmission was completely rebuilt in March 2013, due to reverse going out. This is a common problem for the model year 2005, so it is now worry free, with less than 20,000 miles on the rebuild. In May, right hand side catalytic converter was replaced. Most recently the steering rack was replaced.

See photos for condition of vehicle. Some minor, VERY minor surface rust near wheels, which could easily be properly sanded and sprayed. Car is reliable and I would drive it anywhere. Air conditioning is blowing warm. Most likely needs a charge. It was blowing cold until very recently. Headliner is in very good shape with only one minor tear near the ceiling interior light.

In the trunk is a BRAND NEW FIRESTONE FIREHAWK PV41 Spare tire, mounted and ready if needed. This is a $205.00 tire if you are to order it from any tire shop. When I picked this car up, there was no spare. I purchased wheel and tire, and had it mounted.

The odometer photo below shows actual mileage. I may drive it a few miles more while it is for sale, locally, since my current vehicle is being repainted. I have owned six Ford Crown victoria Police interceptors since 2003, and this is one of the nicer ones I have had the pleasure of driving. Originally came from a police department in Ohio somewhere, a friend who is a dealer snagged it for me from an auction.

Ask questions please before you bid. If you bid, you agree to complete transaction should you win. Non paying bidders will be reported immediately. IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK- Please contact me PRIOR TO BIDDING. I understand everyone must start somewhere, however if you do not contact me first, I will cancel your bid.

TERMS: $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end via PAYPAL, balance due within 10 days of auction end, via CERTIFIED FUNDS or CASH.. I am located between Flint, Lansing, Ann Arbor and Detroit Michigan, and can be to any of them within 45 minutes. If you are flying in, please advise.

Again, any questions, please ask prior to bidding! Thank you! Good luck and thank you for your interest!

THERE IS NO RESERVE PRICE. RESERVES ARE STUPID, I SET MY LOWEST PRICE AS THE OPENING BID, SO IF YOU BID 2250.00, AND NO ONE ELSE BIDS, YOU CAN BE THE WINNER. VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND IF SOMEONE MAKES A REASONABLE OFFER, AND I CHOOSE TO ACCEPT, BYE BYE E-BAY. So if you are interested, use the BUY IT NOW option!

Thank you!

How Ford plans to handle insurance and repair questions surrounding new aluminum-bodied F-150

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Building a car out of aluminum has a number of benefits - the lighter weight allows the vehicle to be more agile, more fuel efficient, make better use of its power and be more resistant to dings and dents. The downside to the advanced construction, though, is that repairs are both challenging and expensive. That's troubling for the new, aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, because it's kind of made a name for itself as a rugged, durable work vehicle.
How will the legions of Ford buyers cope when it comes time to insure and repair their new trucks? Well, according to Ford, it's expecting a ten-percent jump in insurance costs for the aluminum-bodied F-150, although Ford's truck marketing manager, Doug Scott, was quick to point out that the F-150 is generally cheaper to insure than its competition from Ram and General Motors. "At the end of the day, that's sort of a wash," Scott told Automotive News at last week's Detroit Auto Show. "We've spent a lot of time and feel very comfortable that that's not going to be an inhibitor."
The other issue facing Ford is the distinct lack of body shops that have the training or equipment to repair aluminum-bodied vehicles. AN cites an estimate from the Automotive Service Association claiming that of the 30,000 independent body shops in the US, less than 10 percent are able to work on aluminum.

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.
