2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Sedan 4-door 4.6l - No Reserve!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States
|
For sale is a 2010 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The car was purchased from the original owner, the Bartlett Illinois police department at auction. This is a great running car with low mileage. It was originally a black and white, but the holes in the roof and trunk have been professionally patched (with metal, not rubber plugs), and painted all black professionally, at a local body shop. The book value on this car in "good" condition is $8700.00 I am selling with no reserve because I do this as a hobby and the car is fixed up and ready to go, and being in chicago i don't have a lot of space to park them for very long without incurring lots of expense.
The result is a great looking all black on black car with 80,000 miles. Drives straight and tight, has like-new tires and brakes, and runs flawlessly.
This is a 4 year old one-owner car with all maintenance work done by the police dept who owned it, that can be driven and enjoyed for years and many (hundreds of thousands) of miles with very little effort or expense.
The ONLY issue with the car is with the tachometer... it works, but the needle rests below the "0" mark. When you step on the gas and rev it up the tach goes up, but falls back below zero at idle. Not sure what the problem is but i know you can have them rebuilt, and i have the ebay seller name who does it, it's 99 dollars, you send in the unit and they send it back the next day. I just didn't do it because it is an automatic transmission car, and I can't see what the real purpose of the tach is, but if you wanted it fixed it is an easy fix!
Feel free to message anytime with questions or to make a time to see the car in person or take it for inspection. I am in Logan Square in Chicago, IL.
Thanks for looking, and bid with confidence, this is a GREAT car, and drives like new! |

Watch this awesome R/C car chase scene made with cardboard and glue
Fri, 22 Feb 2013It never ceases to amaze us how much video production talent you can find on YouTube, especially when considering movies like Battleship actually exist on the silver screen. It's even better, of course, when cars are involved, which is why we can't stop watching this car chase between a pair of radio controlled Ford Mustangs.
Racing through a detailed set built in the middle of a public street using just "cardboard, hot glue and spray paint," this video is possibly even greater than The Greatest R/C Car Chase Ever that we saw last year. With the exception of a fruit stand and/or a plate-glass window being carried across the street, this has all the makings of a classic cliché chase scene.
Scroll down to watch the scaled-down action ensue as well as the full-scale conclusion.
Weekly Recap: Ford GT inspires guitar, foosball table, sailboat
Sat, Apr 18 2015Ford design vice president Moray Callum had just wrapped up a briefing on the interior of the Ford GT last month, but something seemed out of place. He grinned and pointed behind him, "You might be wondering why I have a boat behind me," he said mischievously. It was there because Ford set its designers on a mission to stretch and showcase their talents: design non-automotive objects inspired by the interior of the GT supercar. Callum received quite a response, too. His team produced a guitar, a foosball table (yeah bro!), a racing sailboat, a Wi-Fi speaker and some furniture. As the veteran design chief explained, "It's a really great exercise both to highlight our designers' talents, but also to really see how our design philosophy can work and how you can use it and get a common response back from a worldwide design team." Guitar View 25 Photos The objects have been on display this week at the Salone del Mobile furniture and fashion design fair in Milan, Italy, where Ford has had a presence for three years. There's also a light exhibition that apparently was inspired by the GT, as well. While this might seem a little far-fetched for the automaker, Ford said exhibitions like the Salone del Mobile give its designers another way to be creative and ultimately produce striking interior style. Ford wants this to be a differentiator, as research shows consumers are placing emphasis on the layout and features inside when they're making a decision about buying a new car. It's a little light hearted – but it's also potentially big business. Other News & Notes Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for Buick General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said the Cadillac CT6 platform could be used for a large Buick, though "not yet," Automotive News reported. The underpinnings can accommodate rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and would give Buick the large flagship it lacks. The report jibes with comments Reuss made at a roundtable with Autoblog and other reporters at the New York Auto Show. When asked if Buick had space for a large car on the CT6 chassis, he replied, "Yeah, I think it does. Yeah, I think we do." Buick has revamped its lineup in recent years with attractive crossovers and small and midsize sedans, but hasn't added the proverbial flagship that's yearned for by enthusiasts. Buick surprised industry observers with the stylish Avenir concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year that raised the possibility of a halo sedan.
Ford, Ram in heavy-duty towing spat
Mon, 28 Jul 2014Every pickup truck commercial has the brand trying to convince us that its model is the biggest, brawniest vehicle on the block. But Ford and Ram appear ready to really throw down the gauntlet and scrap over the towing figures for their heavy-duty models, and it could potentially end up in court.
The issue revolves around what it means to be best in class. Ford claims that its 2015 F-450 (pictured above) has a max tow rating of 31,200 pounds, compared to 30,000 pounds for the Ram 3500 (right). However, both companies market these heavy haulers as having the top towing in their class. According to Automotive News, Ford is threatening legal action if Ram doesn't back down.
The situation isn't as simple as just comparing the numbers, though. First, the two companies calculate their towing capacities differently. Ram adheres to the SAE J2807 rating, while Ford uses its own internal system. Although, as the company introduces new models, they are certified using the SAE standard. "When an all-new F-Series Super Duty is introduced, it also will use SAE J2807," said Ford to Autoblog in an emailed statement.
