V8 FLEX SOHC Naturally Aspirated The car came with the following options from Ford: carpeted floor, keyless remote, Police Trunk pack with Kevlar, 6-way power driver's seat, driver's side spotlight, fire suppression system, adjustable pedals and front door molding delete. The windows have been tinted with ceramic tint. The oil, air filter and transmission fluid all have been changed in November 2013. All four tires have also been replaced in November 2013. I have had the car inspected and serviced by a mechanic and a front-end shop. This car was owned and operated by a local city that is known for taking great car of their vehicles. The car has only 111,068 miles on it. This car has been in the Texas area its entire life and has NO RUST ON IT. The car was painted black and white at the factory. The paint is still in good shape with only minor rock chips and scratches on it. The body is very straight with only a few minor "door ding" type dents. The antenna holes are all plugged with plastic caps and sealed water-tight. The rear windows and doors work perfectly like a normal car. You can use the child safety lock to disable the interior handles. The car appears to have NEVER been smoked in. The city that this car came from is one of the nicer suburbs of Dallas and they take great care of their vehicles. The car shows signs of many new parts and no issues at all. This car has no leaks or drips, does not smoke and has no shimmies or shakes at 80 mph on the freeway. The transmission shifts out solidly and smoothly with no issues. This car is ready to be driven anywhere and be put to work or be enjoyed. All the power and electronic equipment work like new. The air conditioning is ice cold and the heater warm and toasty. There are no known problems with this vehicle. The car is kept inside during inclement weather (rain/hail). Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a track-day weapon with 500 hp
Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Ford promises more than 500 horsepower and a torque peak above 400 lb-ft.
The wait is finally over. After months of spy shots, rumor and innuendo, Ford has officially pulled the wraps off its new Shelby GT350. Judging by the spec sheet and the promises being made - especially that the Shelby GT350 will be "an all-day track car that's also street legal" - the wait appears to have been worth it.
Woman reunited with stolen Mustang after 28 years
Sun, Dec 28 2014An enthusiast Christmas story: Salinas, California resident Lynda Alsip bought a 1967 Ford Mustang in 1984 when she was 17 years old, having saved $800 after a summer of toil at a grocery store. She got a vanity plate that read "LYNDA67," for the year she was born, but she only got to enjoy the car for two years: in 1986, after a night out, someone stole it from her apartment complex. She hadn't seen it since. Then a man – another Salinas resident – tried to register the car at the DMV this year. He said he bought it as a project car in 1991, yet the DMV couldn't find any record of it. The DMV office sent the case of the untraceable car to the California Highway Patrol, where Officer Christopher Menchen dug into the records, and his search paid off. The officer located Alsip's stolen record report from 1986 and connected the Mustang to it's registered owner in 1986, who was Alsip's mother. The CHP found the forest green Mustang in the man's garage, and they figure it's been there since 1991. After waiting through the still-ongoing three-month investigation, the CHP reunited Alsip – now a wife and a mother of two – with her car on December 22. It's undriveable, but her original vanity plate is back on and she plans to restore it. The video above has the story.
