This vehicle is surplus property of the Village Of La Grange and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay. There is NO Buy-It-Now option. We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with NO warranty, neither express nor implied. ALL sales are FINAL, NO returns will be accepted, and NO price adjustments will be given. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder after the initial starting price has been satisfied-this is the bottom line price what we will accept for the vehicle-DO NOT MAKE AN OFFER! If the vehicle does not sell on eBay, it will either be relisted at a later time or sent to a public auction. The vehicle, again, has 111,520 miles. There is no major damage or rust in the body of the vehicle-just normal wear-n-tear scratches, dings, and dents. The vehicle has all the following WORKING options: power windows, locks, mirrors, trunk release, driver's seat lumbar/recline, cut-off switch (allows driver to push cut-off switch and take key out of ignition to keep vehicle running. The key would need to be inserted into ignition to place vehicle in drive to prevent theft). The vehicle has manual tilt steering wheel, power adjustable gas pedal, and cruise control (we did not use the cruise control so unknown if working-probably working). The vehicle has driver-side and passenger-side air bags, rear defrost, dome light, interior lights and spotlight all in working order. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo and air conditioning in good working order. All of the vehicle's exterior lights, lamps, signals are in working order. The vehicle's tires are in good condition. Again, the vehicle shows normal signs of wear-n-tear about the body-no major damage or rust. The exterior top of the roof has three plugged holes, which were used for police equipment/light bars that have since been removed. The police decals have been professionally removed, however, some glue is slightly visible-a good detailing should eliminate the glue from the vehicle. There is a very small dent in the passenger-side 1/4. The front plastic license plate frame is cracked. There is a crack above the driver-side headlight. A small plastic cover is missing from the steering column-does not affect the steering wheel or ignition. There are a couple of holes in the interior roof liner between the driver and passenger seat that once housed a police camera. There is also one small (barely visible) hole in the interior roof liner behind the dome light. The check engine light is on-unknown reason. There is a small tear in the driver-side door armrest. The front cloth seats are in fair to good condition, but will need to be cleaned. The rear seats are brand new-when the vehicle was a police unit, we had plastic seats in the rear and stored the original seats. The original seating has been placed back in the car. There is a small tear in the vinyl flooring on the driver-side, however, the rest of the flooring appears to be in good condition. EV tax credits: Here's every electric car or plug-in hybrid that qualifies
Tue, Apr 18 2023Starting on April 18, the Internal Revenue Service released new guidance for U.S. buyers shopping for a new electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. On April 18th, the IRS showed only six fully electric vehicles on the qualified list, but a day later Volkswagen confirmed its U.S.-built ID.4 also qualifies. That means right now, seven fully electric vehicles qualify for the full $7,500 EV tax credit, with three more from Chevrolet coming for the 2024 model year (we would expect these 2024 models to roll out slowly and be difficult to find for at least the first few months they are on the market). In addition to those seven fully electric cars, two plug-in hybrids also qualify for the full $7,500 credit. To qualify, a vehicle must be assembled in North America and must meet a strict set of guidelines that cover where battery materials were sourced. If any battery materials come from certain countries (importantly including China), the vehicle's tax credit is automatically cut in half. Further, according to the IRS, the vehicle's manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) can't exceed $80,000 for vans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks or $55,000 for any other type of vehicle (basically meaning sedans). Electric vehicles that qualify for the full $7,500 EV tax credit: Cadillac Lyriq (2023-2024) Chevrolet Blazer EV (2024) Chevrolet Bolt EV (2023-2024) Chevrolet Bolt EUV (2023-2024) Chevrolet Equinox (2024) Chevrolet Silverado (2024) Ford F-150 Lightning — all models (2022-2023) Tesla Model 3 Performance (2022-2023) Tesla Model Y — all models (2022-2023) Volkswagen ID.4 — U.S.-built models (2022-2023) Plug-in hybrid cars that qualify for the full $7,500 EV tax credit: Chrysler Pacifica PHEV (2022-2023) Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring (2022-2023) A smaller credit is offered on fully electric cars and plug-in hybrids that are assembled in North America but have batteries with materials sourced from unqualified countries (mostly China).
Man chases down truck thief and steams it all on Facebook
Thu, Oct 13 2016A Washington man chased down a truck stolen from his family's dealership last Saturday and livestreamed the event on Facebook. According to KOMO, a 2005 Ford F-250 was stolen from Sunrise Auto Sales in Eatonville, Washington on the morning of October 8. Aaron Babcock, who co-owns the small dealership with his father David, told reporters that after reviewing surveillance footage, he later spotted the truck while riding his motorcycle on Webster Road East. "I watched my cameras and found the video of a man lurking around and ending up taking off with my truck," Babcock told KOMO. "Cops came and made a case. Three hours later I was on my motorcycle in Graham, and they drove by me oncoming. It still had dealer stickers on it. It said diesel on the window and it had our dealer plate on it. It stuck out like a sore thumb. It was really easy to see." Once he spotted the stolen Super Duty, he wheeled his bike around and gave chase. He attempted to call 911, but was unsure if the dispatcher heard him due to noise from the wind and the bike's engine. So he fired up Facebook live and started streaming his chase, giving running commentary and updating his location as he chased the slow-moving truck. "I wasn't going to let him get away. I was going to try follow him down. I had no idea what to do," Babcock said. "Nobody could hear me on the phone so I just figured the first thing to do is pull up Facebook live." Babcock's Facebook friends pitched in by calling 911 to report the chase and even jumping in their own cars to follow the truck. At one point, he pulled alongside the truck and recognized both men in the cab. The driver was the man seen lurking around the dealer lot in the surveillance video, and the passenger was an old friend of Babcock's. "I know who you are!" he shouted at them, but the hunkered down and kept driving. Eventually, Babcock lost cell phone signal and the livestream ended. Eatonville police, who by this point were well aware of the incident, caught up with the truck in the 8400 block of 356th Street South in Eatonville. The driver was arrested and the passenger was questioned and released. Both denied stealing the vehicle or knowing it was stolen. Two sets of keys from Sunrise Auto Sales and a stolen credit card were also recovered from the truck. Related Video
Ford recalling nearly 24,000 Focus EV and C-Max models over door chime
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Ford will be voluntarily recalling 23,830 Focus Electric and C-Max Hybrid and Energi models equipped with push-button ignition, according to The Detroit News. Why? Because the cars don't make a noise when the driver's door is open, and are therefore in violation of federal regulations. It's not as silly as Honda's badging recall that isn't a recall, but it's close.
Actually, that's not exactly fair. The chime is supposed to come on when the driver's door is open, as it reminds drivers not to leave their cars on or leave key fobs in the car, an easy thing to forget when the cars in question make virtually no noise at idle and do not require keys in ignitions.
The recall, which Ford is conducting voluntarily, covers 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric hatchbacks and 2013 C-Max Hybrid and Energi models. The overwhelming majority, around 22,900 units, were sold in the US, while the remaining 900 units are in Canada. How many of each model are covered in the recall is not immediately clear.
