Here is an EXCELLENT MECHANICAL condition, well maintained by owner for the past 7 years 2000 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. I bought it originally with 75,000 miles. This P71 was originally owned by a Police Department. This car was NOT a patrol car, it was assigned to a Detective Unit, so it had better driving use than patrol vehicles. Since I bought it I kept it well serviced with regular oil changes every 3000 miles, wheel alignments and tires balanced and I only used Premium gas.
The car runs very strong and smooth and the transmission shifts correctly. It has no leaks nor does it burn oil nor does overheat. This is why:
A year ago I had a professional mechanic replace all belts, air conditioning compressor, and gasoline pump. Had engine compression checked then, replaced ALL engine seals and gaskets. Had all fluids flushed and replaced to include, transmission, rear differential, radiator, brakes line. Purchased New OPTIMA Gel Battery, new original pursuit Good Year Eagle tires and replaced brake pads; replaced with original FORD P71 Heavy Duty suspension shocks and struts. Since I spent almost $6500 in repairs and have all repair invoices to prove.

REPAIRS NEDDED:
All power accessories works except passenger side window (regulator needs to be replaced).
The "PRND" (parking, reverse, neutral, drive) shifting lever indicator need to be replaced but this does not affect driving.

This ALL BLACK P71 Features

ALL around tinted power windows, power locks, car alarm, air horn, power mirrors, ice cold A/C and heat, remote trunk door release, AM/ FM/CD Player, 4 speaker stereo, tilt steering wheel.
Intermittent wipers
Full carpet Kit in good condition
Front cloth Bucket seats (need to be washed) and rear cloth bench seat in excellent condition and also has a center console.
Full size spare tire (tire is in fair condition), tire hold down, tire cover, Jack and Lug wrench.
Full trunk carpet kit in excellent condition
Complete Owner's manual, P71 Manual
4 Almost NEW Good Year Eagle tries with 95% tread with minor even wear.
Optima GEL Battery.
Has an original small antenna on top. I removed (2) antennas from the trunk and plugged them with good quality original Motorola plugs and silicone sealant. No holes on side pillars or dash board. Body has no damage or dents. Although I had the car professionally re-painted black (original color) about two years ago, it has small stain marks on the trunk, (I went out of town for a week and left it parked under a tree, it only needs buffing and polish. It also has some paint flaking on rear bumper; I repaired some of the paint with spray primer/ paint. Overall the finish is very good; the car still looks very presentable. The interior is clean (front seats and carpet needs to be washed) but has no damages.

Car is sold AS IS, but it's an excellent running vehicle for being 14 years old

Everything on the FORD P71's Heavy Duty, that's why they are famous for easily exceeding 300K+ with proper maintenance. With only 135K this one has a long way to go. The only reason I'm selling it is because I need to buy a small car for one of my teenage kids. (By the way, as an option, I'll consider trading for a good small running car)

I welcome only serious potential buyers to inspect the car and take it to a local mechanic if desired. Buyer is responsible for making arrangement to pick up or ship vehicle.

Weekly Recap: An '80s encore in the auto world

Sat, Jul 11 2015

The '80s returned in a big way this week, as National Lampoon's, Ghostbusters, Miami Vice, and even Tetris were back in the news. While there were far more serious topics (see below), nostalgia mingled with modern marketing to put these Reagan-era favorites back in the spotlight. The '80s were alternately cold and corny at times, but their cultural touchstones can still generate big money. That's why Infiniti recreated an iconic scene from National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) for an advertisement that hawks the QX60 crossover. Actor Ethan Embry, who played Rusty Griswold in a later Lampoon's movie, pilots the Infiniti – which is serving as a modern Family Truckster – for a trip to Walley World. A blonde pulls alongside in a red Lamborghini. They flirt, and she drives on. Christie Brinkley, who played the original girl in the red sports car (she drove a Ferrari in the '83 flick), is riding shotgun and chides Embry with: "A blonde. In a convertible. Seriously?" Okay, it's hardly on the level of "here's looking at you," or even "you can't handle the truth," but it should resonate with '80s babies, many of whom are now having children of their own and moving into three-row SUVs like the QX60. Naturally, Hollywood is going back to the well, too, with a Vacation remake that premiers July 29. Meanwhile, Ghostbusters is returning next year, and director Paul Feig offered a peak at the new Eco-1 in this tweet. In the 1984 classic, the team drove a modified 1959 Cadillac. Now, it will drive a late '80s Cadillac. As expected, the announcement generated support and controversy from movie and car enthusiasts. His tweet had generated several thousand retweets and favorites in the days following the news. Though the '80s Caddy looks, uh, less elegant in comparison to the now-iconic fins and curves of the original Ecto-1, it's about the same time lapse into the past as the '59 Caddy was to viewers in 1984. Speaking of 1984, Miami Vice, which debuted that year on NBC, is seeing one of its hero cars hit the auction block, Mecum Auctions announced this week. The 1986 Ferrari used on the show will be offered for sale Aug. 15 during Monterey classic car week. The white supercar runs a 390-hp flat 12-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and was in storage after the show ended in 1989 until earlier this year. It has 16,124 miles on the odometer and is authenticated by Ferrari North America and Classiche.

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
