However now after starting it the other day and driving it around the neighborhood I notice that the fuel gauge does not work...that came with the pump and so I am guessing that Father time did something. The other things that do not function correctly are the A/C, that works but the R12 leaks out, the fuel gauge as I mentioned, the dash pad is cracked badly around the speaker hole, the glove box door opening button or knob is broken and would need replacement and set of tires probably. Now the tires hold air and they only have about twenty thousand miles on them but they are old and so there is the reason why I listed the tires. The engine runs good, leaks a little oil while sitting, but does not smoke, the transmission shifts good and there are no noises from the rear end. There are no warrantys implied. Sold as is."

This 1986 Crown Victoria was a Florida car all of its life so there is no rust underneath and only on the drivers door in fact due to a scrape while my dad was driving it. I have the full service history on the car(receipts) from Goodyear of Brooksville Florida. There are no dents, just not a good paint job on the door. This was my dad's car until he passed away in '96. About 5 years ago I put new brakes on it and a new exhaust and a new fuel tank and fuel pump. The engine runs good, leaks a little oil while sitting, but does not smoke, the transmission shifts good and there are no noises from the rear end. So here is the scoop, I am selling the car and telling you that you could use this car as a drive to work car, driver, or for parts. For an almost thirty year old car this ain't bad! There is no warranty implied and it is a buy as is sale. You must pick it up locally. The car is in Grayslake Illinois.

You must have a Pay Pal account and pay a non refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of the auctions end. The balance to be paid in full within 3 days of the auctions end. Local pick up only. No warranty on this vehicle as it has over 68,000 miles on it.

Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.
We've got live images of the C-Max Solar Energi Concept, jauntily tilted on its display to best present it's signature solar panels, straight from the CES floor.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
