Have you noticed that these early Broncos are only increasing in value? The first generation of the early Bronco was built from 1966-1977, with a total of 225,585 produced. U13 Roadsters like this one were only built in '66, '67, and '68, with a total of only 5000 built over that 3-year production run. According to Bronco experts, there are less than 200 in existence today, and perhaps only 50 or so in restored every day driver condition.

'Ol Blue is the real deal. I am selling a TRUE U13 bronco built in 1966 and as a bonus you get the hard top and doors.   I REALLY hate to get rid of 'Ol Blue, but I need cash to further develop my evolutionary website . Feel free to check it out and preregister AdFor.US. We will be launching Globally later this year.

I purchased this truck in Georgia (no salt or snow) 15 years ago and have driven it across the country a couple of times. Blue is my daily driver and has been for nearly 6 months and 12 states.  Most of the work i've done to it is in the under carriage & externally. Hooker headers, with dual mufflers,  Front disk brakes, Wild Horses 3.5 inch rock crawler coil springs and 11 pack leaf springs. Rancho 9000 five way adjustable shocks all the way around. 23 Gallon steel fuel tank, matched Drop Pitman, Poly Urethane Bushings and Newish- 1yr- Optima yellowtop battery (recharge even if 2VDC--Awesome!) I have also installed new upper and lower door rubbers. The rear driveshaft was custom reinforced by Atlanta Drive line. The front driveshaft is not sold with the truck as I lost it in one of my moves. I had a rubber undercoating sprayed on more than 10 years ago and it is still protecting very well. Less than 2k miles ago i added 2 brand new BF Goodrich A/Ts to the Hankooks (with 85% good tread)  on clean alloy rims.

Original Floor pans and door jams are still about 96% there and can hold my 225lbs standing on them. I thought about patching the floor pan seams, but seeing them as they are is a testament to how well this 47 year old stallion is. Original Rocker and quarter panels are better than 99%. I have parked this truck 3 times for more than a year and it's '69 Fairlane 302 V8 started right up. I have a double barrel Edelbrock carb on it, for fuel efficiency. In the last 6 months I have added or replaced:

65Kv H.E.I. distributor, 8mm wires & plugs
New 3 core, Triple Flow aluminum radiator.
Water Pump
Heavy Duty Clutch
Heavy Duty Dual Timing chain (Comp Cams)
New calipers and pads
New chrome brake booster
New heater control valve
Upgraded wiring
Carpet

Also, I just had a new rust protective coating sprayed on the undercarriage, in engine compartment, in cargo area, inside hard-top, under hood and inside quarter panels. I have included some prep pictures to show how clean the oem metal really is underneath the 8y/o paintjob.

Ol' Blues' engine purrs like a lion. It was rebuilt just before I purchased and has been driven less than 15k since.  (Updated--  Installed new dual timing chain 08 February 2013-   [which means fresh engine paint, new oil, new coolant.]  Check out the pictures and video on facebook @ Bronco N Buck.) He's quick and nimble.

This truck is 75% done. Only easy stuff left to do. What it needs- (optional) power steering, a/c, wheel spacers, new fender flares (or repair the ones that are included with truck) and Paint, fan shroud, windshield wipers.

This IS a fantastic and rare investment. In ten years it will double in value.  If you're looking for the perfect valentine present... it doesn't get better than this. Put your tax return to good use.

Extras that are included:
Doors, Steel Hard Top, Push Bar (original add-on), Rubber Cargo Mat, Dual CB Antenna's. Heavy duty Safari (cargo) roof rack and ladder. (500lbs), bikini top. I will also drop ship the original front seats and rear bench if I get my asking price.  (the driver seat leans, but all seats are otherwise in good condition)

Thanks for looking!

We are currently in Seattle, but I am willing to drive Blue ANYWHERE in the Continental United States for an extra $1k or less (depending on where). I recently purchased new plates and had the title transferred to WA.

I recently started a facebook page for Blue and I, where you can see a couple of pictures and follow our moves.  Check it out and 'like' our page-- Bronco N Buck --- The page goes with Blue.

New pictures of the interior coming soon... pictures from the cargo area on are older pictures with old 33 inch tires.

Galpin Ford GTR1 supercar debuts in Monterey

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

Galpin Auto Sports has finally taken the wraps off the car we first previewed back in December, the Galpin Ford GTR1. A few weeks ago, we posted the first hints of just what the GTR1 would be capable of, with Galpin teasing that its 5.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 would produce in excess of 1000 horsepower, with a top speed of 225 miles per hour. Package all that in a coachbuilt body, and you have the recipe for one wicked supercar.
The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000.
Now, we have all the glorious details. Galpin is targeting a production run of six cars, but if interest is strong enough, will expand its initial quote to 24 vehicles. The price for the carbon fiber-bodied car is $1,024,000. Opting for the aluminum bodywork could lower that, although it's not immediately clear by how much.

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid vs other hybrid crossovers | How they compare on paper

Thu, Sep 19 2019

The long-anticipated 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid was announced yesterday, and although we don't have every spec available (including the all-important official fuel economy figures), Honda provided enough that we can piece together a comparison of powertrain specs and dimensions. The same can be said of the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid, which we just drove for the first time.  Together, they represent a significant increase in the number of compact crossover hybrids, as the current total is one: the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The old Nissan Rogue Hybrid has been discontinued, leaving the subcompact Kia Niro Hybrid as the only other vehicle in the ballpark. As you'll see below, its size and performance are much different than the others, but its fuel economy and price are superior.  Performance The RAV4 Hybrid is the performance champ of the group, but both it and the new CR-V Hybrid are actually more powerful than their respective gas-only siblings. Although the added weight of its battery pack negates much of that horsepower advantage, the RAV4 Hybrid's subsequent acceleration is indeed a smidge quicker than the gas-only version. It will be interesting to see if that's the case with the CR-V. By contrast, the Ford Escape offers a 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo engine, meaning the hybrid variation is most definitely not the Escape's highest-performance offering. Nevertheless, the Hybrid does produce more power than the base 181-horsepower 1.5-liter three-cylinder. The Niro, meanwhile, brings up the rear in terms of performance, but Kia estimates a perfectly acceptable 0-60 time of 8.6 seconds. The others are likely in the mid-7-second range. Fuel economy This is ultimately an open question since we don't have official figures for the CR-V and Escape. Based on Honda's estimate of the CR-V Hybrid being 50% more efficient in the city than the gas-only version, our calculators say it should get 43 mpg in the city. Then, based on information provided on the Escape Hybrid first drive and some more calculation, our best guestimate for it is 40 mpg. Either way, given how mpg is calculated, any potential differences between them in terms of actual fuel burned should be negligible.  On the other hand, most Kia Niros sold get 51 mpg in the city and 49 mpg combined. According to the EPA, that translates to an annual average fuel cost of $750. The RAV4 Hybrid, by contrast, is $900.  FWD vs AWD Note that the CR-V and RAV4 come standard with all-wheel drive.

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
