Hey there, Unfortunately I have to sell this Black 1979 Ford Bronco 4x4 xlt Ranger ...I was in the middle of fixing it but now I have to invest the money in something more important.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO BID...YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY AND SURPRISED  ABOUT THE RESERVE PRICE!!!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO SELL IT ...AND I DEFINITELY SELLING IT FOR WAY LESS THAN WHAT I SHOULD!!!!!!!! CAN'T GO LOWER THAN THIS.

This Bronco runs and drives GREAT. Very smoothly!  The engine it doesn't need any fixing.  These are the parts recently replaced :  TIMING GEARS and CHAIN, OIL PUMP,WATER PUMP, DISTRIBUTOR, BELTS, THERMOSTAT, THE HOSES, RADIATOR, ANTIFREEZE, CAP and ROTOR PLUGS, FUEL FILTER,  OIL and FILTER, NEW GASKETS,GAS TANK, a year old NEW BRAKES, PADS SHOES, DRUMS, WHEEL CYLINDER KITS, HARDWARE KITS, HUB BEARINGS, ALL BRAKE LINES RUBBER , NEW MASTER CYLINDER,NEW HEATER CORE, BLOWER MOTOR, NEW STARTER, NEW FRONT SHOCKS TIMING GEARS and CHAIN, NEW BRAIN BOX and WIPER BLADES. The interior are pretty much the way it came from the factory, rear bench seat all the original carpet in really good shape for it's age, the driver's seat it's starting to show its age, has cassette player with a cd changer in the console. The rear window works with the key, all the glass it's in decent shape, it  as AC but it's not hooked up. It has a 351-M with a C-6 TRANS LOCK OUT HUBS. 3 inches lift with 35 x15 x 12.5 BF GOODRICH TIRES. The Bronco has 103000 miles it's a dual exhaust and it sound like the old camaros from the late 70's  .  The body has some rust ...so you will need to replace or fix the doors, the tale gate and the driver floor pan down the road. For all the body parts you can check jeff's bronco grave yard or LMC trucks website . Doors are around $ 180.00 ,floor pan $ 50,00 and tale gate $ 225,00.  You can enjoy this 1979 Bronco right the way...but if you have  time and some money to invest in it, it will become a BAD ASS TRUCK...that was my plan...But unfortunately like I said I have other priorities  now...So if you love this  struck like I do, place a bid and good luck with the auction!!!!

Please don't hesitate on contact me if you have any question!

Peace.
Z.

For EV drivers, realities may dampen the electric elation

Mon, Feb 20 2023

The Atlantic, a decades-old monthly journal well-regarded for its intelligent essays on international news, American politics and cultural happenings, recently turned its attention to the car world. A piece that ran in The Atlantic in October examined the excesses of the GMC Hummer EV for compromising safety. And now in its latest edition, the magazine ran a compelling story about the challenges of driving an electric vehicle and how those experiences “mythologize the car as the great equalizer.” Titled “The Inconvenient Truth About Electric Vehicles,” the story addresses the economics of EVs, the stresses related to range anxiety, the social effects of owning an electric car — as in, affording one — and the overarching need for places to recharge that car. Basically, author Andrew Moseman says that EV life isn't so rosy: “On the eve of the long-promised electric-vehicle revolution, the myth is due for an update. Americans who take the plunge and buy their first EV will find a lot to love Â… they may also find that electric-vehicle ownership upends notions about driving, cost, and freedom, including how much car your money can buy. "No one spends an extra $5,000 to get a bigger gas tank in a Honda Civic, but with an EV, economic status is suddenly more connected to how much of the world you get to see — and how stressed out or annoyed youÂ’ll feel along the way.” Moseman charts how a basic Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck might start at $55,000, but an extended-range battery, which stretches the distance on a charge from 230 miles to 320, “raises the cost to at least $80,000. The trend holds true with all-electric brands such as Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid, and for many electric offerings from legacy automakers. The bigger battery option can add a four- or five-figure bump to an already accelerating sticker price.” As for the charging issue, the author details his anxiety driving a Telsa in Death Valley, with no charging stations in sight. “For those who never leave the comfort of the city, these concerns sound negligible," he says. "But so many of us want our cars to do everything, go everywhere, ferry us to the boundless life we imagine (or the one weÂ’re promised in car commercials),” he writes. His conclusions may raise some hackles among those of us who value automotive independence — not to mention fun — over practicalities.

Ford Fiesta ST gets worked out on the track

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

We're big fans of the turbocharged Ford Focus ST, and we're plenty excited that the Blue Oval will be offering a similar treatment on the smaller Fiesta here in the United States, too. We first saw the production-ready Fiesta ST five-door at the Los Angeles Auto Show last fall, and Ford has now released this video of a Euro-spec three-door ST being flung around the track.
But not just any track - the challenging Track 7 of Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds in Belgium. The course features 20 turns and plenty of elevation changes along its 2.7-mile loop, and David Put, a vehicle dynamic specialist at Ford, shows just how good the pint-sized Fiesta ST is at handling the lot, even getting the smallest ST up on three wheels every now and then.
It sure does look like a lot of fun, and makes us really eager for our chance to try this ourselves. Scroll down to see the hot little Ford getting busy.

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
