This is an ealy Ford Bronco project needing a complete restoration but with tremendous upside potential.  I purchased this vehicle a few years ago with every intention of restoring it but now realize I have too many other projects to finish and will never be able to give it the attention it deserves.  The oringinal color appears to have been Grabber Blue which is what I was going to have it repainted.  The truck has typical Bronco rust, mostly from the door striker posts back. I have purchased almost $2,000 of parts for it including replacement body panels, weatherstripping, poly suspension busings, rear crossmember, a body mount kit and window gaskets.  All glass is good including a new w/s yet to be installed.  I estimate that to replace all the rear sheetmetal would cost about $850 of additional parts from a vendor such as Bronco Graveyard.

Motor does not appear to need a rebuild.  There is no smoke in exhaust or any unusual noises.  Trans also seems fine.  I can't say if transaxle is ok due to fact that I have never used the 4wd, the truck was driven home and has basically sat while I dreamed of restoring it and time slipped by.  The truck has power steering and manual brakes with front disc brakes.  Will probably need brake job and of course new tires.  Wheels should polish up nicely.  Has dual exhaust with very loud glasspacks which I would definitely replace.

Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.  Clear NJ title.  Sold as is, where is with no warrantees or guarantees written or implied.  Buyer responsible for transportation.  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have using the ebay feature and thanks for looking.

Ford earnings take a dive on investment, slowing sales; workers get $6,900 in profit sharing

Thu, Jan 29 2015

Ford Motor Company's pre-tax profits for 2014 took a beating, falling to $6.3 billion, a $2.3-billion drop from 2013, while overall revenues fell from $139.4 billion to $135.8 billion. Net income for 2014, meanwhile, plunged 56 percent, from $7.18 billion to $3.19 billion. Yeah, those aren't great numbers. While Ford's figures are largely down across the board, some of the weaker numbers aren't too difficult to explain away. The company launched 24 vehicles across the globe in 2014, including some of its biggest and most important volume models, like the 2015 F-150, as well as iconic offerings like the new Mustang. The result of this is both increased investment as well as a drop in total sales – US market numbers were down 164,000 units compared to 2013. Recall claims and high warranty costs also did a number on the Blue Oval. "2014 was a solid yet challenging year for Ford - with our investments and a record number of new products launched around the world positioning us for strong growth this year and beyond," Ford CEO Mark Fields said in a statement. Ford's 50,180 UAW workers in the United States will receive profit-sharing checks of $6,900. In some markets, Ford's fortunes were impacted by outside factors. Europe, for example, recorded more sales (up 70,000 units) and higher revenues (up $2.2 billion), but still reported a $443-million pre-tax loss. Blame was placed on the crumbling Russian economy, which has suffered from sanctions and slumping oil prices. Despite its troubles last year, the company still seems bullish on 2015. Ford's pre-tax outlook remains unchanged, as the company expects to make anywhere from $8.5 to $9.5 billion on the back of higher revenue from the company's automotive operations. We expect strong growth and improved financial performance in 2015 driven by our investments in new products and capacity," Ford CFO Bob Shanks said of the company's future.

Bask in Ford truck history with this website [UPDATE]

Mon, Sep 21 2015

UPDATE: A typo originally referred to the F-100 in 1948, rather than the F-1. It has been corrected. In celebration of the venerable F-Series, Ford has put together an interactive website digging into the model's history, dating back to the F-100 F-1 in 1948. While the video above just takes you through the looks of the various generations of Ford's pickups, you need to check out the website to get the full experience. Each major model change is accompanied by a small blurb of descriptive text. As a real highlight for fans of auto history, high-res vintage advertising and photographs also come with each one. The Blue Oval wants to get truck fans involved, as well. At the bottom of the page, owners can share a shot of their F-150, and Ford is showing a few of them online. If you have some free time during the day to bone up on your F-Series history, the page is definitely worth a visit. Related Video:

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
