Hello, up for sale is an incredible fully rebuilt 1970 Ford Bronco with an off frame restoration including all brand new parts with Ford F-150 transmission and engine, raised suspension, drive train, electrical system, wheels, brakes, tires, large gas tank, custom 1952 Ford Blue paint job with detailed hood and doors.  Virtually everything was replaced or restored.

This truck is also equipped with an electric wench, kill switch, auxiliary electric fan, spare tire and large wheels with bubble tires. I purchased the truck five years ago from an American Airline mechanic who built it from the ground up. This was his third Ford Bronco and was forced to sell it due to college tuition.  He gave me over $35,000 dollars in receipts for the restoration. The truck has under 25,000 miles which is artificially high due to the large wheels. There are no dents but there is body rust some minor scratches by the spare and under the black interior coating as seen in THE PICTURES full disclosure, we are selling the truck as I purchased it, As Is. I am sure a body shop can remove it easily and I always felt it gave the Bronco some character.  The truck starts right up every time and has fuel injection.

This Bronco can handle almost any terrain and designed to be a rock crawler, however we used it to go back and from the beach. It is a four speed manual transmission with a separate stick for putting it into four wheel drive.  There is a special system to ease the brakes but I never used it.  There is a tachometer mounted to the steering wheel and a fire extinguisher that looks cool, but never used.  This truck turns head whenever I drive it and many people have tried to buy it over the years.  Currently in our summer home in Bridgehampton, NY if you want to see it in person

Just thought I'd drop you a note in case you wanted to post it for everyone to see. I know that Bronco very well. Even though it was not "built" by the previous owner, it was from Tulsa, Ok. Darrel Lewis built the truck originally and sold it to the PO. Darrel built the motor (stout 351W), which has a Howell fuel injection system on it, built and installed the NP435 and much more. From there, Gordon Bailie, owner of Bailie Bilt (well known builder/fabricator in Tulsa, Ok) built the roll bar, bumpers, tire carrier, ram assist, heim steering, paint and body work and many many other things. The truck has a NP435 4-speed manual transmission in it.

Ford taken to task by gov't for Chicken Tax end-around

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

Ford is in a bit of a pickle for importing and selling Turkey-built Transit Connect cargo vans as passenger vehicles in the US, then converting them to commercial-vehicle specification stateside in an effort to bypass a 25-percent tax imposed on vehicles imported for commercial use. Automakers are required to pay a 2.5-percent tax on imported passenger vehicles.
The Blue Oval got into trouble for this in a January ruling in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials asked Ford to stop the practice of importing the Transit Connect vehicles with passenger seats, then removing and shredding them. Now Automotive News reports that Ford is appealing the ruling. The 25-percent "Chicken Tax," as the tariff is often called, is 50 years old and was enacted as a response to a German tariff on chickens. Like Ford, Chrysler bypasses the higher tariff, but it does so in a different manner. It partially disassembles Sprinter cargo vans before shipping them to the US, then rebuilds them at a plant in South Carolina.
But the ruling against Ford's strategy states that it "serves no manufacturing or commercial purpose" and is there to "manipulate the tariff schedule," Automotive News reports. As Ford's appeal goes through, it is importing the Transit Connect and paying the higher tax, hoping for a favorable outcome and planning to build the next-generation Transit Connect, which it plans to launch before the end of the year, in Spain.

What next for Alan Mulally?

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.

Ford gets its Movement on, releases 'Sounds of Focus' tracks

Sun, 25 May 2014

Ford has, for at least the second year in a row, teamed up with techno promoter Paxahau and a couple of artists to make music in recognition of the Detroit Movement music festival. This time, Movement performers Ataxia and Secrets were selected by Ford, and were invited to spend some time at the automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant, which gives birth to the Ford Focus and Focus Electric models.
Now that we know the what, how about the why? According to Ford, "Detroit is uniquely tied to the origins of the electronic music scene. In the 1980's variations of electronic music stemmed from inspirations of industry, including the automotive sector." So, there you go. If you're interest is piqued, feel free to read the press release, watch the video and listen to the tracks below.
