Up for bids is this 1965 ford mustang K code fastback. For someone that doesn't know this is a rare car. These K codes are hard to find in any condition. This car has been sitting up for years. The inspestion sticker on it is a 1984 inspection sticker. As for the drive train the front disc brakes and rear end look original but the motor and transmission are gone. It was probably pulled out years ago when these cars wasn't worth anything and had another 4 barrell 289 engine put in it with a 3 speed transmission. It is a 1965 4 barrell 289 engine in it just not the good one. It hasn't ran in years so I am sure the motor would need rebuilding. The body has some issues but ive seen worse. It will need the normal floor pans, cowl repair, rear lower quarters, and a taillight panel. The front frame rails look okay. The rear rails look okay except the very back of the drivers rear rail will need some attention where it bolts to the rear shackle. It has some rust in that area. The engine bay looks okay. It has all 3 VIN numbers stamped under the hood where they are supposed to be and has the original door tag as well. It has all the glass in it. It has the majority of the interior with it. Look at the pics with the interior. If you see it then it is there. If you don't see it then it is not there. The trunk floors will need some small patches but nothing major. This is a restoration project. These original K code fastbacks never come around so it might be a while before you see another one. If you have a K code motor stuck back in the garage then you need this car to make the whole package. I do have a clear title for it. Here is the break down of the door tag. 63A 2 door fastback K color silver smoke gray 26 trim black vinyl 18L date november 1964 71 dso los angeles 5 axle 3:50:1 5 transmission 4 speed manual The VIN number is 5R09K159383. According to the VIN the second leter R means this car was built in california which is where the shelby cars came from that year from what I was told and have read which makes this a pretty neat car as well. This would make a nice car for a collector to build if you are hunting one. I have described this car the best I can so if you have questions please ask. Like I said it will need a full restoration. It has rust and it is old and hasn't been touched in probalby 30 years so its a project. As for payment I will accept cash in person, certified bank check, or bank wire transfer as payment for the car. I can store it for a reasonable amount of time until you can pick it up or have it picked up but will require full payment be made within seven days of the end of auction. Again if you have questions or need more info just let me know. |

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.
Want to buy a brand-new 1964 Ford Mustang? [w/video]
Wed, Mar 18 2015Even in its current iteration, the Ford Mustang is not without its share of heritage design cues. But if it's a more classic look of the first-gen pony car you're after, combined with modern levels of equipment, Revology just might have the answer. The Orlando-based company makes what you might call "continuation" Mustangs, using replica steel bodies made by Dynacorn and licensed by Ford to give it that classic look, but with modern technology. Under the skin you'll find a 5.0-liter fuel-injected V8 with 265 horsepower and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, but the powertrain is just the start. It's also got a MacPherson strut suspension, disc brakes, power steering and a cabin equipped with such modern accoutrements as power door locks and seats, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, even Bluetooth connectivity. And it's all covered by a one-year, unlimited-milage warranty, plus five-year corrosion protection and three-year powertrain warranty. Of course none of that comes cheap, as a turnkey Revology Mustang will set you back at least $119,500, in the buyer's choice of fastback or convertible body-styles. The first example was unveiled at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance this past weekend, with the first customer examples set for delivery next year. This content is hosted by a third party. Ford Claims Focus As World's Best-Selling Car For Second Year In A Row
Mon, Jan 27 2014Ford Motor Co. has claimed its Focus sedan beat out the Toyota Corolla for the title of 'best-selling car in the world' for the second year in a row. The declaration was based on independent sales figures from January to September of 2013, according to USA Today. Last year, Ford used data from the analysis firm Polk to support its claim of having the best-selling car of 2012. Toyota objected, stating the Corolla sold more units. The numbers eventually showed that the Ford Focus was the best selling nameplate of the year, but may have been second to the Toyota sedan overall since multiple variations of the Corolla are sold under different nameplates around the world. Data from the analysis firm R.L. Polk found Focus registrations from January through September 2013 reached 856,587. Ford can thank booming car sales in China, where the automaker sold 303,481 units, for a sizable chunk of that number, which was a 16 percent increase over 2012. "Our success with Focus is the result of Ford's connection to our customers all over the world," said Jim Farley, an executive vice president at Ford. The Focus and Corolla both compete in the popular small sedan segment, along with other hot-selling cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. These vehicles make a up a large portion of sales for their respective automakers, as they tend to hit a sweet spot for many consumers, coming with a starting sticker price under $20,000, solid fuel economy, plenty of cargo and passenger room and, lately, sharp exterior design and sportier driving dynamics.
