1965 Fiat 500 F W/650cc on 2040-cars
Yellow Springs, Ohio, United States

Up for auction is a head turning 1965 Fiat 500 F for you to enjoy this summer! This is a running car and is ready to be driven. This has an upgraded engine, 650cc. This gives it plenty of power to cruise the back roads at 55 mph with ease and enjoyment. Has front seat belts, aftermarket steering wheel, and a sharp looking interior. History. I bought this 4 years ago from a man in Texas who bought it in Italy while stationed there . I am unsure if he had the engine upgrade, interior, and paint done at his request or if it was like that when he purchased it. The only thing I have done is cleaned the carb/replaced float and put a new starter on it over the last 4 years. I am selling the car because I am moving out of the country and am cannot take the car with me. I bought this car on eBay after searching literally for years to find the "right one", so here is your chance to purchase a nice example of a classic 500. This is a solid car. Mechanically the car is great, fires right up, and handles well. Paint is older and has some chips, scratches and some spidering. However from pictures you can see overall looks great (won best Fiat at the 2011 and 2012 "Italian Gathering" car show in Ohio). Interior condition is pictured. There is some wear on carpet in particular near top of gas pedal. Keys for doors and ignition, no key for engine lid lock. Some scratches on glass. I got caught in the rain once on way to a car show and realized it could use some new door seals; but since this is a nice weather car for me, I never bothered replacing. Turn signal relay works intermittently and you may want to swap it out. Note, odometer states 74966 km, title lists mileage as "exempt"; I am unsure of mileage since rebuild. Car is located about 30 min outside Dayton, Ohio. Car is available for inspection by you or your mechanic. This car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I have a clear title in hand. $1000 nonrefundable deposit due via paypal within 24 hrs of auction close. Full payment due within 3 days. The price of shipping of the car and all the shipment planning/details are the full responsibility of the buyer. If you have any questions, you can contact me by phone, evenings no later than 10 pm eastern please, 937.319.6129.

Fiat 500e EV starts rolling off the line for the American market
Thu, Feb 22 2024Unveiled in 2020, and announced for the American market in 2023, the electric Fiat 500e is headed to our shores. The first American-spec examples of the pocket-sized, retro-styled hatchback have rolled off the Mirafiori Assembly Plant located near the heart of Turin, Italy. At launch, the 500e range will include a single trim called (RED) Edition. It stands out with red-painted door mirror caps, LED headlights, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a red dashboard. While it's available in red, of course, buyers can also choose Tuxedo Black and Glacier White. It's reasonable to assume other trim levels will join the range later in the production run, but Fiat hasn't revealed its future plans yet. Although we haven't driven the American-market 500e yet, we took a spin in a European-spec model in 2023 and walked away impressed with the interior. It feels much nicer overall than the last-generation 500 (which retired from the American market in 2019 but remains available new in Europe), and it's packed with fun little design details such as the Turin skyline etched into the wireless charging pad's mat. Power for the 500e comes from a front-mounted electric motor linked to a 42-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The motor sends 118 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels, and the battery holds enough electricity to deliver up to 149 miles of driving range. That's not much, but Fiat notes the 500e was developed for urban buyers and says the model can charge to 80% in 35 minutes. Alternatively, a full charge takes 4 hours and 15 minutes when using a Level 2 charger; that's an advantage of using a small battery. The first examples of the 2024 Fiat 500e are scheduled to reach our shores by the end of the first quarter of 2024, and the first batch of dealer-allocated cars sold out in less than a week, though a specific number hasn't been revealed. Pricing starts at $34,095 including a $1,595 destination charge and excluding incentives. Every 500e will come with a Level 2 charger or charging credits at public stations.
Fiat 500e recalled over possible half shaft separation
Wed, 14 Aug 2013The recently launched, all-electric Fiat 500e is already facing its first recall. According to The Detroit News, more than 270 of the EVs are being recalled to replace bolts that secure the vehicles' half shafts. The official number of affected vehicles has not been announced as of this writing, as Chrysler will not inform the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of this issue until it accounts for all problematic 500e models that are currently sitting on dealer lots.
Chrysler confirmed to the News that the problem is in no way related to the 500e's electric powertrain, simply the half shafts. The automaker launched an investigation into this problem after learning that a customer's vehicle experienced power loss. Engineers reportedly found that two assembly steps had not been completed, and that this could lead to half shaft separation.
No injuries or accidents related to this problem have been reported. Chrysler will contact owners of the affected 500e models, who will receive rental vehicles while their Fiats are being fixed. Of course, all repair work will be completed free of charge.
FCA and iPhone maker plan Chinese electric vehicle joint venture
Thu, Jan 16 2020MILAN — Italian American automaker Fiat Chrysler and Taiwan's Hon Hai plan to set up a joint venture to manufacture electric vehicles and to engage in the business of wirelessly connected vehicles, Hon Hai said on Thursday. Fiat Chrysler (FCA) and Hon Hai are negotiating to set up a 50-50 joint venture, Hon Hai said in a statement. It added Hon Hai would hold its 50% share both directly and indirectly and that its direct shareholding would not exceed 40%. Hon Hai is the parent of Foxconn, the Chinese assembler of Apple iPhones. FCA last month reached a binding agreement for a $50 billion tie-up with France's PSA that will create the world's No. 4 carmaker. The joint venture with Hon Hai will produce vehicles for the Chinese market, but many details of the accord are still to be worked out, one source close to the matter said, adding that a final deal was expected to be signed in the coming months. Foxconn has been investing heavily in a variety of future transportation ventures for several years, including Didi Chuxing, the Chinese ride services giant, and Chinese electric vehicle startups Byton and Xpeng. Foxconn also has invested in Chinese battery giant CATL and a variety of other mostly Chinese transportation tech start-ups. FCA will launch its first full-electric model - the 500 small car - this year. Reporting by Giulio Piovaccari in Milan, additional reporting by Paul Lienert in Detroit.
