If you have been looking for a Testarossa and want to know what your getting, here's your chance. This was a fairly nice car when I got it from a customer that owed me a lot of money. Having the tendency to never leave well enough alone, I wanted to make it as close to new as possible. The VIN is ZFFTA17T0G0065561 The nice thing about this car compared to most TR's is the interior is Cream and Black instead of Tan and Brown. The Cream and Rosso Corsa look very nice together and the black dash sets it off nicely. The Interior was removed and the seats completely disassembled and each part refinished. It still smells like a new car. It is obvious the original owners did not smoke while snorting cocaine off the vanity mirror - LOL The Exterior is extremely clean. The hood and fenders had some road rash and have been refinished. The wheels are perfect. There is no curb rash on either the front spoiler or rear valence. The passenger side fog light lens has a crack on one corner. Other than that, there is little to nit-pick. The electric window gear boxes were disassembled, cleaned of the old dry grease and reassembled with new grease to avoid typical stripping of the gears which are no longer available. The Engine is strong and free from any peculiarities and the brakes are perfect. The car runs hard up to whatever speed your driver's license can take and stops hard and straight. It has had only road testing miles since having a FULL major service that included all new ingition components including distributor caps, rotors, and plug wires at great expense. Obviously all belts were replace at the time as well as the belt tensioners. The water pump was fully rebuilt at the time. All hoses were done, also. All work was done at Evans Automotive in Columbus, Ohio. The suspension performs like new in every way. There are no squeaks, rattles, or vibrations and the ride is highly controlled yet very supple for how flat the car stays in turns. The steering is tight and perfect. The transmission needed work so Evans completely rebuilt it. This was a total rebuild that not only included the standard seals, synchros and bearings, but also new gears. ALL parts used were ORIGINAL FERRARI with no aftermarket or counterfeit parts that are common to the trade. The differential carrier and housing was perfect with none of the common failures or cracks. The clutch is completely new, including the flywheel, pressure plate, friction disc and release bearing. That was expensive. The total cost of all of the above work was $37,600 and I have all the receipts and invoices to prove it. There is no sign the car has ever been in an accident. John Lennon's first car being sold at auction
Thu, 09 May 2013This is what you get as your first car after you've just passed your driver's test at the age of 25: a 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 Coupe. Of course, that's assuming your name also happens to be John Lennon and you've just helped record Ticket to Ride with the rest of your Beatles cronies.
When news of Lennon getting a driver's license made the newspapers in England, luxury car makers parked outside his mansion with offerings and this is the one he chose, painted Azzuro Blue with a blue interior. He paid 6,500 pounds, said to be equivalent to 110,000 pounds today ($170K US).
Bonhams will be auctioning the blue Italian at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 12. It was just one of 500 built, has been restored to its original condition, has matching numbers and its original license plate number. The pre-auction estimate is between 180,000 and 220,000 pounds ($278K - $340K US).
Forza Motorsport 6's new drivable Hot Wheels cars are the best
Tue, May 3 2016Each month, Turn 10 Studios releases a new car pack for the latest installment of its Forza Motorsport video game. Sometimes that means less-than-exciting stuff coming to our Xbox Ones – BMW X6M, bleh – but this time our inner seven-year-old is beyond ecstatic. Two of the seven cars are based on actual Hot Wheels models. And. They're. Awesome. First we have the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. Yes, there are flames on the side. And yes, there's a giant skull where the grille should be. This one came from the imagination of "Mr. Hot Wheels" Larry Wood, whose design was so popular it inspired an actual real-world creation. Like all good things in this world, it's powered by a small-block Chevy V8. Oh, and it has no roof. This will be a popular one among gamers. The other digitized Hot Wheels creation is a 2005 Ford Mustang. A modest vehicle, sure, but the toy designers have festooned this pony car with a wild paint scheme and the body mods to emphasize it. Originally developed to celebrate the 'Stang's 50th birthday, this Hot Wheels car trades Americana for wild Japanese style. There's just one functioning life-size version of this car in existence as well, but if you look hard, you might be able to find one of the 1:64 scale models that inspired it. Other highlights from this month's car pack include the latest Ford Focus RS – finally time to replace that NASCAR-V8-powered, all-wheel-drive 2009 Focus RS – the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the aforementioned X6M, and Alain Prost's 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car. Ferrari 212 Barchetta highlights RM auction at Villa d'Este
Tue, May 26 2015While show-goers sip champagne and basque in the glow of some of the most beautiful classics and most notable concept cars at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, at the Villa Erba just down the shore, collectors bid on some of the most tempting automotive creations. And this year was no exception. Highlighting RM Sotheby's auction this year was a rare classic 1952 Ferrari 212 Export Barchetta. The Touring-bodied competition roadster from Ferrari's early days fetched an incredible ˆ6,720,000 – nearly $7.4 million at current exchange rates – to set a new record for that model. According to Sports Car Market, the previous record was held by a 212 Export coupe that sold for $3.2 million early last year. A Barchetta failed to sell for a high bid of $1.97 million in 2008, which just goes to show how far this auction raised the bar for the 212. Though it was by far the top lot of the day, it wasn't the only million-dollar sale of the day. Heck, it wasn't even the only million-dollar Ferrari sold. A quartet of Ferrari supercars – including a 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo – each fetched seven figures, as did a 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and a 250 GT Cabriolet. So did a Lamborghini Miura, a '73 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and a '53 Fiat 8V Cabriolet, if you can believe it. Other notable lots included a 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este Coupe, a '74 Lancia Stratos and a rare stick-shift Ferrari 599 HGTE. All told, RM Sotheby's racked up nearly $30 million in sales at its first European auction since merging and rebranding, selling 34 out of the 39 lots consigned, but that stunning 250 California Spider did not appear to be among them.
