You are bidding on a very clean, original, and well maintained 1987 Ferrari Testarossa with a clean CarFax. The iconic 12 cylinder 4.9L Testarossa has become very collectable in the last couple of years and prices, as with all classic Ferrari's, are going up so now is the time to buy before they become out of reach.
The paint on this car is 100% original with no sign whatsoever of even a minor touch-up. The overall condition of this 26 year old paint is excellent. There are no dents, scratches, or door dings anyplace on the car. There are what I would consider less than the normal amount of small chips that you would typically expect on a car of this age and miles and they are mostly on the front black spoiler, there is a small chip on the front of the right fender, a small chip on the leading edge of the front boot, and 2 small chips on the right side rear wheel well edge. All in all extremely minor.
The interior is tan leather, original, and in overall very good condition. There is only minimal wear on the drivers seat that you would expect and as with all light colored interiors the grain of the leather is becoming more visible. The passenger seat is near perfect. These seats can be professionally dyed their original color and they would look like new seats. The carpets, dash, and door panels, are original and in very good condition as well. There is some minor wear on the drivers side sill and with the drivers side door weatherstrip from getting in and out of the car. The stereo has been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/CD with an Alpine amplifier and 12 disc changer in the boot. Everything on this car works including the ice cold AC, power shoulder belt retractors, power windows, lights, gauges, wipers, etc. Options include 18 inch Speedline wheels, Momo steering wheel, Tubi stainless steel exhaust, passenger side mirror, and shields.
Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. It runs and drives perfect and just recently passed an emissions test with ease. The steering is tight, the brakes are solid with lots of meat on the pads, and it runs and drives excellent. The tires are almost new Bridgestone Potenza's all the way around. The car is due for a belt service by time and not miles. I have not sent it out for the service as many people would prefer to have their own mechanic preform the service and the car has been priced accordingly. However, at the buyer's discretion and expense I would be happy to assist in having a local Ferrari shop of the buyer's choice or one known by me and with the buyer's consent preform the service.
This car is being offered exactly how we received it so that the buyer can decide on weather to keep it as original as possible or what and where to recondition. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or at (714) 535-8555 before bidding. The winning bidder is required to place a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the end of auction with the balance due via wire transfer within 5 business days from the end of auction. Any other arrangements for payment must be agreed to in writing and before hand. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping but we would be happy to assist in this. Vehicles sold for use and/or registration in California will have all applicable fees and taxes due in addition to the amount of the willing bid. This car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end this auction early in the event it sells. Thanks and good luck!

FCA delays distribution of Ferrari shares
Sat, May 2 2015Even if you can't afford an actual Ferrari, soon you can own a part of the famous company thanks to its upcoming initial public offering. FCA will put 10 percent of the Prancing Horse on the market in the third quarter of this year. However to reap extra money for 2015's bottom line, the rest of the sports-car maker's stock will remain undistributed for a little longer. According to Automotive News, the strategy is quite simple to understand. FCA is holding off until the first quarter of 2016 to divvy up the remaining Ferrari stock to shareholders. By doing so, the automaker gets to claim 80 percent of the Prancing Horse's profits for its 2015 financial numbers. While FCA is already showing strong results through Q1 2015, being able to add extra cash on the balance sheet is always a plus. FCA hasn't set a specific date for the IPO, but Ferrari stock was announced to be traded in the US and possibly on a European exchange, as well. According to Automotive News, FCA currently owns 90 percent of the company, and Piero Ferrari has the remaining 10 percent, which he isn't selling. Related Video:
1957 Ferrari 335 S could set auction record at $30+ million
Fri, Jan 22 2016This car that could set the record for the highest price to be paid for an automobile at auction in 2016 – by the second month of the year, no less. It's a 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider, and it's going up for sale at Artcurial in Paris next month, with an estimate topping $30 million. Though it may look a lot like the iconic 250 Testa Rossa that came out the same year, chassis number 0674 actually started out its life as a 315 S and fitted with coachwork by Scaglietti. After finishing sixth at Sebring and second in the Mille Miglia, it returned to Maranello and was upgraded to 335 S spec. The 3.8-liter V12 was enlarged to 4.1 liters, and its output swelled from 360 horsepower to nearly 400. Mike Hawthorn drove it at Le Mans that year, leading the race and setting a lap record before dropping down to fifth with mechanical troubles. It went on to compete in several more events as part of the factory Scuderia, helping it secure the title in 1957. It was then sold to famed US importer Luigi Chinetti who campaigned it for another couple of years, winning (among others) the 1958 Cuba Grand Prix with Stirling Moss and Masten Gregory behind the wheel. The 335 S was ultimately sold to noted collector Pierre Bardinon. Asked once why he didn't have a factory collection, Enzo Ferrari once said he had "no need" because "Bardinon has done it for me." That's high praise indeed, and the car remained one of the highlights of the Bardinon collection for over 40 years. Having liquidated the Baillon barnfind collection last year, the auction house estimates that this 335 S will sell for $30-34 million. That would not only set the bar very high for the year ahead, but could make it one of the highest price ever paid for a car at auction. 2014 saw a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa sell for nearly $40 million, and a 250 GTO for $38 million. Behind them is Fangio's Mercedes W196 Silver Arrow that sold for nearly $30 million in 2013. The auction is set to take place during the Salon Retromobile in the French capital on February 5th. Among the other Prancing Horses that Artcurial has corralled for the event include a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta (estimated at $10–13.2m), Gianni Agnelli's unique 1986 Ferrari Testrossa Spider ($750k-1m), and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series 2 that belonged to the King of Morocco ($1.5-1.9m). So if it's a multi-million-dollar Ferrari you're after, Paris will be the place to be in a couple of weeks.
1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is a love letter to Steve McQueen
Mon, 27 Oct 2014There have been plenty of movie stars who've been into cars, but few genuine aficionados like Steve McQueen. The legendary King of Cool was known for driving his green Mustang and Porsche prototypes on the big screen, but in his private life, he loved his Ferrari.
There was, of course, his iconic 250 GT Lusso, but back in 1967, the actor and sometimes racer also bought a rare 275 NART Spyder. Sadly, that car was totaled a mere two days after he took possession, and there were no replacements available. So he bought this hardtop 275 GTB/4 instead.
Ferrari's Classiche department recently restored the car to pristine condition and RM Auctions sold it for over $10 million, but there's more to its story than its celebrity provenance and high hammer price. Listen to the guys who worked on it for McQueen tell the car's story in this latest video from the Aficionauto.
