Offered here is a 1984 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet, with only 29,898 original miles. The owner started the project of restoring the vehicle to its original condition and unfortunately did not finish it. The interior was removed and refurbished. The body was stripped and received a high quality paint job.
The timing belts were changed and the intake manifold and air filter box were painted to original specs. The convertible top is in excellent condition. The owner never completed the restoration, so I am selling this car for him. His loss is your gain. It would not take very much to finish this car. All the parts are there to complete the restoration, along with the owners manual and workshop manual. |

Ferrari building one more LaFerrari Aperta for charity auction
Thu, Aug 24 2017When Ferrari officially introduced the LaFerrari Aperta roadster, it announced that it would only build 209 of them. It also announced that every single one was already sold. That apparently isn't quite the case, though. RM Sotheby's announced it would be selling a LaFerrari Aperta, and it's a new one, No. 210, that hasn't yet been built. According to the description, this is an additional special edition that will be built to help celebrate Ferrari's 70th anniversary. It will also have a unique paint scheme and will be unveiled during the celebration in Maranello. No details were given as to what the paint scheme would be, but based on the other five specially painted LaFerrari Apertas, it will probably be inspired by one of the company's more famous road or race cars of the past. Also, since this car will be auctioned, it presents a rare opportunity to own one of Ferrari's top-tier sports cars without going through the trouble of becoming one of the company's favored customers. Of course that means this car could be very expensive, too. RM Sotheby's estimates it will go for between ˆ3 million and ˆ4 million, which at current exchange rates is $3.5 million to $4.7 million. On the plus side, the proceeds from the auction will go to an unnamed charity. Related Video:
Kimi Raikkonen moving to Ferrari?
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Kimi Raikkonen, easily one of our favorite current drivers in Formula 1, may be making a move from Lotus to Ferrari, according to a Finnish tabloid called Ilta-Sanomat. Raikkonen, who won the driver's championship in 2007 with the Italian brand, is in high demand and is also rumored to have options on the table from Red Bull and his current team.
Of course, a move by Kimi to Ferrari means at least one of the Maranello-based outfit would need to find another ride. Driving ace Fernando Alonso has publicly voiced his displeasure with the Ferrari chassis, and rumors have the Spaniard considering a move to Red Bull to replace Mark Webber. Buckle up, folks, this Silly Season is shaping up to be bumpy...
Ferrari's modular next-gen platform is under construction
Fri, Jul 29 2016Ferrari and Altair ProductDesign are teaming up to create a next-generation platform for the automaker's future vehicles, reports Automotive News. The platform will provide Ferrari with a base for several new flagship models, claims Altair in a press release that is no longer available, noting that the engineering and design company has worked with Ferrari for more than 10 years. According to the report, vehicles on the next-gen platform are expected to be lighter and better performing, and the platform will reduce vibration, noise, and harshness. Altair's designers and engineers worked alongside the automaker's manufacturing, design, and engineering teams in Italy to create the platform. Altair currently works with an extensive list of automakers on various design and engineering aspects for vehicle chassis. We reached out to Ferrari to get a better idea of what Altair is bringing to the table, but the automaker declined to comment about its relationship with suppliers or on future products. As previously reported, a modular platform would help Ferrari cut development time and share more parts within its lineup. The next generation of the Ferrari California is the first model expected to utilize the new platform and is predicted to be unveiled sometime next year.Related Video: News Source: Automotive News-sub.req., Altair ProductDesignImage Credit: GIUSEPPE CACACE/AFP/Getty Plants/Manufacturing Ferrari Coupe Lightweight Vehicles Performance Supercars
