Full-camo Ferrari F12 M spied testing in Maranello
Thu, Nov 10 2016Going on five years old, the Ferrari F12 is due for a freshening. And so our spy photographers caught the next version of Ferrari's front-engine two-seater running around Maranello in full disguise. According to Autocar, the production version should appear at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Details at this point are scarce. In the photos you can see the large round brake lights behind the body coverings. They appear to be the same as those on the current F12, but don't count on that continuing through. As with the FF's evolution to the GTC4 Lusso, we expect some changes to the front and rear styling when the F12's suffix changes from Berlinetta to M. And with the GTC4 Lusso adopting a turbo V8, it's possible Ferrari will spread that option to the F12 M as well. But calm down, we're not expecting he V12 to go away. In fact, we expect it to get a power bump, similar to what we saw in the limited-edition F12 TdF, which puts out 769 horsepower, 39 more than the F12 Berlinetta. What we probably won't see in the upcoming F12 M is a hybrid powertain, despite the fact that all Ferraris are moving in that direction. That shift will happen with the F12's successor. Which leaves you plenty of time watch this video of the F12 M running around Maranello. Enjoy. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Ferrari makes its return to Need For Speed: Rivals in a big way
Thu, 14 Nov 2013With all the excitement over Forza Motorsport 5 and Gran Turismo 6, it's easy to forget that there's another racing game from an even older franchise coming out. The latest Need For Speed installment, Rivals, is set to hit stores November 15 (this Friday) for the Playstation 4, November 19 for PS3 and XBox 360, and November 22 for the XBox One. As part of the run up to the launch, we have a great look at all the new Ferrari content for the new title, which marks only the second time the Italian marque has been in an NFS game.
The last time we saw a prancing horse in Need For Speed was 2009's Shift, when we got ten models as part of a paid, downloadable pack. In anticipation of Ferrari's return to the series, we've got a gallery of images of some of the featured models, like the F12 Berlinetta (which we've shown you before), the FF, the Enzo, the 599 GTO and both the 458 Italia and Spider. All of which are bound to make for phenomenal tools for escaping the virtual cops.
We'll have a more extensive look at Need For Speed: Rivals in the near future, but until then, have a look at the game's Ferrari content up top.
Driver limps away from massive Ferrari crash
Tue, Mar 29 2016The safety of modern racecars is absolutely astounding, and few videos show that better than this crash from a race in France's GT Tour at Nogaro. Driver Sacha Bottemanne in a Ferrari 458 GT3 bumps a fellow racer in another Ferrari. The slight hit is still enough to throw Bottemanne off balance, and his Prancing Horse slams hard into the wall. The high-speed crash causes pieces to explode off the car, but you can immediately see the driver moving inside once the Ferrari stops spinning. Bottemanne climbs out the space formerly occupied by the windshield, and a corner worker helps him limp to the side of the track. A translated tweet from GT Tour says the driver went to the hospital afterward, but he only suffered some bruises. After a shocking crash straight into the wall at such high speed, it says a lot for GT3 safety that his injuries were so minor. Related Video:
