A BLEND OF ELEGANT STYLE & AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE This example of the 355 F1 Spider is wearing beautiful black paint and soft tan leather, making a very elegant package. The mid-engine Ferrari was the last model to be fitted with the flying buttress rear window. This design goes back to 1965 with the Dino 206 GT. The F1 package gets you the 6 speed electrohydraulic manual transmission. There is a switch on the console that will give you the option of full automatic, another switch will provide a sport version. This option was the second most popular feature wanted on the 355 (1053 cars with F1). The 355 design is felt by many Ferrari enthusiasts to withstand the test of time. Watch the Ferrari LaFerrari get put through its paces by Top Gear and Evo
Wed, 30 Apr 2014Do you know what today is? Well, besides being the anniversary of the signing of the Louisiana Purchase (thanks France!), Consumer Protection Day in Thailand and Michael Waltrip's birthday, April 30 marks the expiration of the first of two embargoes on the Ferrari LaFerrari.
That means you're probably going to see quite a bit on Ferrari's hypercar in the coming days. One of the first things we've stumbled across is this video from our friends at Top Gear. Now, this isn't Jeremy, James and Richard playing with the ultra-powerful hybrid (although it's probably only a matter of time before the LaFerrari arrives at Dunsfold), it's the TG magazine crew. It's best to think of the Top Gear video as an appetizer, though.
The main course comes from Evo, which has a far lengthier and more detailed spot, running a full 10 minutes of fun. Dickie Meaden samples the 900-plus-horsepower monster on both the Italian roads and the Fiorano test track. We won't spoil the outcome, so be sure to take a look below for both videos.
Massive cruise ship features Ferrari go-kart track
Mon, Apr 24 2017Billed as the first racetrack at sea, a Ferrari-themed circuit will sit atop Norwegian Cruise Lines' newest vessel, the Norwegian Joy, launching this summer. The two-level track will have room for 10 electric go-karts, and it's built in partnership with Scuderia Ferrari Watches. The barriers are red with the Prancing Horse crest displayed prominently. The track will be laid out on the top level of the Joy, offering racers a view of the sea as they turn laps. Ferrari watches will also be sold in a retail shop near the track as part of the deal. The cruise line announced plans for the circuit last year and now is confirming the Ferrari theme. Ferrari is expanding its marketing efforts with clothing, watches, Ferrari World Theme parks, and other lifestyle experiences as it positions itself as a global luxury brand. Ferrari hopes the moves expand its base beyond traditional automotive enthusiasts, who flock to the brand for its success on the track and for its high-performance sports cars. The Joy is designed specifically for the Chinese market and will have room for 3,850 passengers. Guests in certain classes will get free rides on the Ferrari track as part of their accommodations. The ship will also have a racing simulator, multi-story waterslides, and open-air laser tag. The Joy will be delivered Thursday in Germany, and its home ports will be Shanghai and Tianjin. Watch the ship float out in the video above. Related Video:
Ferrari recalls 458 Italia because its trunk is a dangerous place to stow kids
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Ferrari is recalling 3,000 458 Italia and Spider models and, believe it or not, it's not because they may catch fire. Nope, instead, the issue focuses on anyone that's unfortunate enough to become trapped in the Ferrari's perilously small frunk (front-mounted trunk).
Apparently, should someone find themselves trapped in the car's nose, the interior release handle only lets loose one of frunk's latches. That means that while anyone held captive by the V8-powered supercar won't be in danger of suffocating and will still be able to call for help, the cars are still ultimately in violation of federal safety mandates.
According to Uncle Sam, should someone become trapped in a trunk, like a child, they must be able to open the trunk from the inside and escape. That can't happen in the 458.
