Best speculative Ferrari Enzo successor rendering yet

While so many supposed Ferrari fanatics are just sitting on their collective hands and waiting for the Italian supercar maker to finally reveal its F150 (or whatever it'll be called) Enzo follow-up, designer Josiah LaColla has gotten busy with his Wacom tablet and set to work. The results, though quite possibly no closer to the actual F150 as any of the other renderings we've seen thus far, are lovely to behold.
Well, actually, "lovely" probably isn't the perfect descriptor - anything less than a little bit brutal wouldn't be a proper successor to the Enzo, nor would it fit the parameters laid out by the test mules we've seen so far. Accurate within the best of LaColla's ability to guess and imagine is probably a better way of looking at these designs, which show a car that has enough venting to keep the bowls of Hell cool (should Hell ever hit the autostrada at 150+ miles per hour).

They say money can't buy happiness, but I disagree. I'd be very happy if I had enough cash to have Ferrari's Special Projects team build me a bespoke variant of any one of its current crop of cars. The group's latest creation, the SP275 RW Competizione you see here, was shown for the first time at the year-ending Finali Mondiali event at Daytona International Speedway. Details are scarce, but the 275SP appears to be based on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in either standard or TdF guise. (The F12 TdF debuted at last year's Finali Mondiali.) Based on design elements like the louvers behind the wheels, it seems likely that the new model started as a TdF. That means special touches like a front-mid-mounted 769-horsepower V12 and rear-wheel steering. It also means a 0–60 mph time of 2.9 seconds. It's difficult to say how much the 275SP weighs, though the F12 TdF is about 240 pounds lighter than the standard F12 Berlinetta. Looks are subjective, so you'll have to decide for yourself whether the new styling queues, like a redesigned front fascia, hood, doors, and glass, are an improvement. It's unlikely you'll find this particular shade of gold on another Ferrari. To my eyes, it looks like the Solarbeam Yellow hue that's available on the Mercedes-AMG GT for $9,900. The takeaway should be that if you have the means, Ferrari Special projects will build whatever you want. Look to the F12 TRS or the F12 SP America for more examples. Money may not buy happiness directly, but it will sure as hell buy you a nice Ferrari. Ferrari vetoes F1 engine supply cost cap

The costs associated with competing in Formula One are enormous. In addressing the problem, the FIA has proposed a number of measures aimed at reducing those expenses. But while most of the teams are apparently on board, one key player has exercised its veto to defeat the initiative. The issue came up at a recent meeting of the Formula One Strategy Group, where the participating parties discussed implementing a global cost ceiling, amending the regulations in order to drive down costs, and increasing the standardization of common parts. However one of the most concrete steps would have seen the FIA institute a maximum price which engine suppliers could charge independent teams for their power units. The issue was put to a vote, which the FIA reports passed with a "large majority." But Ferrari vetoed the measure, exercising the right accorded to it under the governing regulations – a step which the FIA will not contest. With its cost-cap measure defeated, the governing body has confirmed its intent to move ahead with proposals to bring in an outside engine supplier that will provide motivation to independent teams at a lower cost. As we recently reported, the price associated with securing power units from suppliers like Mercedes, Renault, and Ferrari, typically costs teams as much as $30 million per season – a solid two or three times what they cost in the previous V8 era. One of the leading contenders at this early stage to supply those low-cost power units is Cosworth. The British firm has long participated in the championship as an engine supplier, stepping back from the sport only recently. However other companies could enter a bid for the contract as well. A French outfit called PURE run by former BAR-Honda team principal Craig Pollock began development of an engine package back in 2011.
