This is a Ferrari 308 that has been modified to a 288 gto rebody.  I bought this car from an auction and the previous owners name listed on the title is Robert Norwood.  This car was owned by Bob Norwood.  If you know about Ferraris you probably have heard of him, if not do some research on the web.  He builds and mods Ferraris and has been doing it for years and has had cars in and on the cover of road and track, motor trend, and car and driver along with other magazines.  He holds many Ferrari records on speed and is known for building super nice Ferraris from the ground up.  I have seen GTO rebodies bring a lot of money here on ebay but the difference is Bob Norwood had the real 288 Gto parts that he used on many of his if not all so he was building as close to a real 288 gto as possible.  By the way factory built 288 gtos are selling for up to 1 million dollars at the moment and only 272 were built so this is as close as it gets.  If you notice this one has fuel doors on each side which is only on the 288 gtos.  Most rebody cars have only drivers fuel door and nothing on passenger side.  This car has some missing parts like motor, trans, center console, speedometer, cluster, bumper parts, rear window, rear engine hatch, stuff like that.  This car is a rolling chassis with no motor or trans.  It has the 17 inch wheels with 17x13 in rear with Michelin Pilot 335 tires on rear.  Some pics show the passenger Ferrari shield on the fender but it is now missing because someone wanted a souvenir and stole it.  Door latches don't work so there is a cable to open them for right now.  Car has radiator in front and wiring harness parts sitting inside engine bay.  The car has some nicks and paint chips around it here and there probably from sitting around at an auction.  The passenger door upper front edge has a split in fiberglass.  I took a pic.  Car has no keys so they are missing also.  Please look close at pics and let me know if I can answer anything else for you.  Cash only.  I cannot release the car or title until cash in hand or either the check or wire has cleared.  My bank puts hold on out of town checks even if they are cashier so just letting you know I must have the cash in my hand before releasing car.  Choose your motor you want to install and have a rare collector car. This Ferrari is being sold as-is with no warranty or guarantee. I already have offers of more than the starting price so it is not going to get any cheaper but if the offer is right I may be ending the auction early.  Thanks and good luck bidding

Race recap: 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix was everything good and bad about F1

Mon, Apr 4 2016

Nothing was as it seemed heading into Bahrain. We were told team bosses had nixed the qualifying experiment that flunked every test by every measure in Australia, but that didn't happen. The FIA didn't give the teams the option of a wholesale return to the old format, the governing body only held a vote on whether to revert back to the old format in Q3 but stick with elimination gimmicks in Q1 and Q2. McLaren and Red Bull dissented, denying the chance for hybrid rounds. We're surprised none of the smaller teams voted against since elimination qualifying is hardest on them. Given the chance to fix the system again in Bahrain, Formula 1 failed again. The FIA and Bernie Ecclestone don't want to go back to the old system – because the race promoters don't want to go back to the old system – so all we know for sure is that there will be more meetings. We also thought Fernando Alonso would race in Bahrain after being given medical clearance, but a follow-up scan by the FIA showed fractured ribs and a damaged lung, ruling him out. And we thought Ferrari might have the pace to conquer Mercedes-AMG Petronas this year – and they might yet, but not on Saturday. That's why the Bahrain race began with another Mercedes one-two, Lewis Hamilton ahead of Nico Rosberg, Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen behind. The Australian outback is plagued with rabbits, which must have something to do with how Daniel Ricciardo keeps pulling them out of his helmet; the Aussie got his Red Bull up to a surprising fifth on the grid. Williams drivers Valtteri Bottas in sixth and Felipe Massa in seventh would need to get him out of the way quickly to show what the car can do after an unsatisfying race in Australia. Nico Hulkenberg lined up in eighth for Sahara Force India. As proof the qualifying format failed again with its sophomore attempt, the last five minutes of Q2 were disappointing. Hulkenberg had the track completely to himself for his quali run, the only two cars on track after him were the Williams duo who weren't setting a time, but getting a set of soft tires ready to start the race on. As for Q1, the only reason for on-track action in the last three minutes was because Hamilton flubbed his first timed run. Romain Grosjean continued Haas F1's fruitful start to the season with ninth place, ahead of Max Verstappen in the Toro Rosso closing out the top ten. At the end of a long red light to start the race, Rosberg claimed his right to victory before Turn 1.

Ferrari 458 with $1M wheels still hasn't found a buyer [w/video]

Rule number one of modifying a car: When it comes time to sell, people want to pay for the car, and could care less how much you spent in the aftermarket. This is a lesson that the guys at Latitude Wheels in Miami are currently learning.
The wheel company's "flagship show car," a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia was put up for sale on eBay weeks ago, as reported by Jalopnik. The price? Just a shade under $1.3 million. For a 458 Italia. That normally starts around $230,000. Yeah.
Latitude justifies the car's price based on a very expensive set of wheels. To be exact, the 21-inch fronts and 22-inch rears are forged Vossen Precision Series wheels. Mounted on Pirelli rubber, Latitude claims the package is worth over $1 million. Add onto that the $20,000 in Novitec Rosso carbon fiber pieces - none of the fun, performance stuff Novitec is known for - and you come to an eBay starting price of $1,290,000.

LaFerrari XX may have lapped N?rburgring in 6:35

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Enthusiasts around the world - ourselves included - have been anxiously awaiting the ultimate supercar showdown. After all, we seldom see three of the world's preeminent exotic automakers come out with such closely matched machinery in such close proximity as we have with the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari. That showdown could occur on no better a playing field than the Nürburgring, but the automakers haven't exactly been playing ball.
Porsche set down a lap time of 6:57, staking its claim as the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the vaunted Nordschleife. Rather than challenge Zuffenhausen head-on, though, McLaren has only said that the P1 has clocked a time of under seven minutes, and though Ferrari has been testing the new LaFerrari at the Ring, it hasn't released any official time at all. Maranello may, however, be preparing to announce an even faster time.
According to word we're receiving from across the pond, Ferrari has clocked a lap time of 6:35 - only it wasn't achieved in the road-going LaFerrari, but in the upcoming track-bound LaFerrari XX. That model, which was just confirmed and spied last week, will follow in the footsteps of the Enzo-based FXX and the 599XX, which itself recorded a lap time of 6:58 in 2010. Because it's not street-legal, it didn't contend for the same honors, and within a couple of months was pipped on the leaderboard for non-street-legal vehicles by the Pagani Zonda R by over ten seconds.
