Gts Acr Coupe - Immaculate Condition - 8660 Miles - Garage Queen - 1 Of 39 Built on 2040-cars
Palo Alto, California, United States
This Viper GTS ACR is one of 39 built in 2001 in this configuration. Only one of two years with ABS as a standard option. The exterior and interior condition is immaculate and looks INCREDIBLE - check out the pictures! Even the lower front fascia paint is perfect.
Most of the vehicle is completely stock, but the exhaust system has been upgraded with premium components. The full stock exhaust has been replaced with Belanger headers (not CARB approved), RT hi-flow cats, and Corsa catback. It sounds very aggressive under WOT, but there is zero drone at freeway/cruise speeds. The best of both worlds! Also, all of the stock parts are saved and available. Maintenance wise, the oil has been changed regularly with fully synthetic oil. The 12V battery was recently replaced, along with the spark plugs and spark plug wires (upgraded to GTS-R wires). The door hinges and hood stops have been adjusted to perfect the body gaps. The gas struts for the rear liftgate glass have been replaced. The ACR suspension is adjustable and has been lowered slightly to improve the stance. I have the factory ACR shock adjustment tool and it can be used to easily raise or lower the height. The Michelin Pilot Sport 2's only have about 4,000 miles on them. This is one of the cleanest Vipers around - it needs absolutely nothing. |

2017 Dodge Durango GT Brass Monkey: A funky winter drive
Fri, Mar 24 2017The 2017 Dodge Durango is one of our favorite sport utility vehicles. It has power and style and it stands out in a segment that is filled with vanilla-flavored people haulers. We recently had a Durango GT outfitted in Brass Monkey trim – highlighted by its 20-inch burnished bronze aluminum wheels - and took to the back roads of Michigan for an extended drive. The snow was flying. The temperatures dropped. It was muddy. The unpaved roads, pocked and rutted, were jarring, even though the forested setting was serene. The Durango had no trouble with any of it. Watch our video review for the complete experience.
Rare Dodge Daytona found in barn heads for auction
Tue, Dec 15 2015An American icon is headed to Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida auction next January. Charlie Lyons, owner of a restoration shop focused on old Chrysler products, got a lead on a two-owner 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that had been sitting in a barn in Glenwood, Alabama for decades. Dodge built 560 Charger Daytonas (Canada and US production) to homologate the model for NASCAR racing, and then that car and the successor Plymouth Superbird terrorized NASCAR tracks for 18 months. The production car, however, 18 feet long and considered ugly, wasn't popular at the time, so many were beat up or simply disappeared. Around 385 are thought to exist today. Lyons said the first owner of this car was the town judge, who bought it for his wife. In 1974 the second owner - just 18 years old at the time - bought it for $1,800 so he could drive it to Panama City, Florida, for Spring Break, and had flames painted on the front fenders and the scallops trimmed in white. Otherwise this barn find is complete and stock, with matching numbers throughout, R4 Charger Red paint and a white tail, bucket seats, center console, three-speed TorqueFlite automatic, and 20,553 miles on the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8. Hot Rod has the long story of how Lyons found the car and convinced the owner to sell for what he jokingly called "a shoebox full of folded money." Hagerty says a concours-worthy model can command $262,000. Mecum's pre-sale estimate for this Charger Daytona is $150,000 to $180,000. That sounds steep, but Mecum did sell another perfectly restored Hemi-powered 1969 Charger Daytona for $900,000 at this year's Kissimmee auction to actor David Spade. Related Video:
2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Wed, 29 Oct 2014Including all-wheel-drive models, there are ten versions of the 2015 Dodge Charger. The tenth variant - better described as the ten-tenths variant and the topmost model - is this Charger SRT Hellcat.
Superficially, you already know what it is: take the massively powerful Hellcat engine that's Frankensteined into the Dodge Challenger and stitch it into the recently facelifted Charger sedan.
Oh, but that would be superficial knowledge indeed. Russ Ruedisueli, vehicle line executive and head engineer for SRT, claims the Charger Hellcat is, "The industry's most irreverent four-door supercar." We looked up the word "irreverent" in the Oxford dictionaries, and it turns out the word doesn't mean "707 horsepower," nor "650 pound-feet of torque" nor "3.7-second 0-60 time, and seats five adults." It does mean, "Showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously."
