Purchased in 2012 with approximately 151,000 miles.

Oil pump went out at 152,000 in 2012.  Since then, new engine and many more parts. Now has 155k miles as of 6/10/2014.  I drove the car VERY little.

Current issues:
A/C worked last year, no longer works now.  Probably a bad o-ring somewhere.
2nd gear grinds.  May be remedied by thicker fluid.  Not sure why the syncro was not replaced during the rebuild.  Shifts fine if you are gently and slow with it.
Small area of rust on the hood and one of the wheelwells.  The last two pictures show the small areas.  Hood is dime sized, driver rear is maybe quarter sized.

The good:
The car is done right and put together meticulously by perfectionist ways
A/C compressor replaced in the late 2000's
Brand new OEM rebuilt engine top to bottom at 152,590 on 4/1/2012.  New everything.  new OEM timing belt components, oil pump, rebuilt heads, heads are fully rebuilt with valve jobs, new guides, seals, etc.
Rebuilt transmission and transfer case by TMZ Performance
Brand new aftermarket oil cooler and kevlar braided oil cooler lines
3SX clutch kit - RPS Max pressure plate and OEM clutch disc
Brand new 3SX rear motor mount (the hard one to change above the transfer case)
Redline MT85 transmission fluid, shockproof heavy in the transfer case and 75/85 in the rear diff.
Active exhaust is fully functional.  Switch on the dash, quiet through both mufflers or loud and free flowing through one muffler
ECS - Electronic Controlled Suspension works perfectly, sport stiff and tour soft electronic struts modes
Brand new 4WS lines at the steering rack, 4WS (Four wheel steering) works perfectly
Rebuilt automatic climate control unit - climate control screen is bright and works correctly
Have many receipts of motor and transmission work, will include everything I have
Underbody nice and clean

Also has:
2G Mitsubishi Eclipse 450cc injectors
Supra Turbo fuel pump
Apex'i S-AFC
Greddy Profec electronic boost controller
Upgraded intercooler hard pipes - everything between the turbos and the throttle body
Upgraded 3SX turbo intake hard pipes
Rob Beck 13T turbos (brand new with the new motor - WRX turbos in the OEM exhaust housings)
3" stainless steel downpipe
3" stainless steel downpipe-back section mated to stock mufflers
BBS RS 17" wheels - fairly light weight
Autometer Boost and Oil pressure gauges in the stock gauge pod

Currently around 155k miles.  Engine runs perfect on Schaeffers 20w50 synthetic fluid.  Doesn't leak a drop.  The car is street tuned and runs great up to 17psi.

Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.

Watch this Dodge Viper get clawed to death

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

There's a scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, where Daniel Craig's Agent 007 is captured by villain Le Chiffre, played by Mads Mikkelsen. Le Chiffre tortures Bond in a scene that is rather difficult to watch (especially for blokes) and impossible to describe on these digital pages (Google at your own risk). This video is the automotive equivalent of the Casino Royale torture scene.
It shows a Dodge Viper - a late, first-generation GTS judging by the center-exit exhausts - getting assaulted by a giant piece of heavy equipment. The large claw shows no mercy on the V10-powered sports car, rending its muscular curves into pieces and then running it over, just for good measure. It's a painful video to watch (and hear!), made worse because we don't know what the Viper did to deserve such a fate. About a third of the way through the video, the cameraman indicates that the man with the claw is a new operator from Chrysler, and it appears there may be some fire damage, but beyond that, we don't have much to go on.
Scroll down for the video but be warned, it isn't for the faint of heart.
