I have for sale a 1993 Dodge Stealth RT TT Twin turbo. It is all wheel drive, all wheel steering. I purchased this from the original owner. He kept it stored in a climate controlled garage all of its life, and had never seen rain, only driven on sunny days.  It has been meticulously maintained from day one. I have receipts to document all the services done to the car. The last service was done on  August 15th 2011, it included water pump, timing belt, tensioner, plugs, wires, ect. The mileage was 140141. Meaning that it was only 4,000 miles ago!

It has never been in any accident, no paint or body work has ever been done to the car.  There are 2 scratches in the paint, and one door ding on the driver side. One wheel has a minor bit of curb rash to the outside ring (1-2 inches long tops, you cant really notice it unless your looking for it) Nothing major at all, and amazing considering the car is 20 years old! The car has never been modified in any way! All the services have come from the dealership. The previous owner stated he had never had the car above 80mph!  There were only 1299 Stealth RT TT built in 1993, and of those only 353 were Firestorm Red, making this a very rare car.

The interior is very nice, air blows ICE COLD! There are a few issues though, common for these cars. The seat is showing minor wear on the drivers side, but the bottom cushion has came loose (see pictures) The drivers side door panel skin has started to bubble, along with the passenger side rear (see pictures)
The radio controls on the steering wheel do not work. And the digital display does not seem to work, although all of the functions of it work. The factory radio also does not seem to pick up stations very well. The dash is perfect!

The motor runs great, transmission shifts smooth, plenty of power, no noises or leaks that I have detected. I have drove the car over 1,000 miles and have not had one problem out of it. The touring/sport mode light flashed sometimes, seems to be a common issue with these cars, caused by a short between the rear shocks.

The only reason I am selling this car is because I do not have a garage to store it in, and I can't stand the idea of it being outside in the elements!
If you have any questions please call me at 417-254-3117. I can email more pictures upon request.
You can call and make me an offer, but please do not waste my time with really low offers. I do not have to sell this car. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally.
You can call me anytime after 5:00pm Monday-Thursday (central time) I am off most Fridays and every weekend so anytime then.

The pictures do not do this car justice it is nicer in person! It would be hard to find a 5 year old car as nice as this one!

Will also include the original service manual for the car. The first owner purchased it from the dealership, he paid $500 for it and it tells you everything you could ever want to know about these cars its a million pages thick!

Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.

Junkyard Gem: 1988 Dodge Aries America LE Station Wagon

Wed, Jan 9 2019

During the late 1970s, Chrysler appeared doomed as outdated car designs and a second catastrophic oil crisis caused by Middle Eastern conflict hammered sales. Chrysler had some successful economy cars made by Mitsubishi or based on Simca designs, but the need for an efficient, modern front-wheel-drive platform grew desperate. After a government bailout in 1979 bought some time, CEO Lee Iacocca masterminded the creation of the all-new K Platform, which hit showrooms for the 1981 model year. The first two K-Cars, the Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries, were big sales successes, and Chrysler went on building vehicles based on the platform through 1995. Here's an example of the later Aries wagon, found in a Phoenix self-service wrecking yard. The "true" K-Cars were the Aries, the Plymouth Reliant, the Chrysler LeBaron, and the Dodge 400. They have become very rare in wrecking yards today, so I honor their historical significance by documenting the ones I find. During my junkyard expeditions, I have photographed this '81 Aries wagon, this '81 Reliant wagon, this '82 Aries wagon, this '82 400 coupe, this '82 LeBaron convertible, this '83 Aries sedan, this '83 LeBaron Town & Country wagon, this '85 LeBaron woodie convertible, this '86 Aries sedan, this '86 LeBaron Town & Country wagon, this '86 Reliant wagon, and this '89 Reliant coupe. The early K-Cars could be purchased with optional Mitsubishi Astron 2.6-liter four-cylinder (complete with "HEMI 2.6" badging), but in 1988, the choices were down to a 93-horsepower 2.2-liter Chrysler-built four-cylinder or a 2.5-liter version of the same engine rated at 96 horses and 13 extra pound-feet of torque. This car has the 2.2. The "America LE" trim level was the only one available for the 1988 Aries, and it resulted in a fairly Spartan car. Tough, scratchy cloth upholstery and lots of hard plastic were the order of the day. The MSRP on this car started at $7,695, or about $16,770 in 2018 dollars. That's a lot of car for that kind of money. For comparison, the rear-wheel-drive (and much bigger) 1988 Pontiac Safari wagon went for nearly twice that price. This content is hosted by a third party.
