The body of this truck is very straight. The paint shines and looks good! There are some minor and superficial scratches, blemishes and rock chips in the paint/clear coat, expected for the age of the vehicle. As with most of these trucks, the original paint had flaked off and the previous owner had the truck repainted. The paint still looks good, however it does have spots where it's blistering, mainly in spots on the passenger side, drivers side fender and roof, please see pictures. Also, the clear coat on top of the drivers door is dull, please see pictures. The rest of the paint is in good shape. The dually fenders are in great shape, no cracks, please see pictures. Included in the sale are all of the original owners manuals as well as a new set of rubber floor mats, we pulled them out so that everyone could see the condition of the carpet! The interior is in great shape. The seats are in good shape, please see pictures. The carpet is in good shape as well, no rips and only a few small stains, please see pictures. All of the power options work great! All of the guages work perfect including the custom turbo boost, pyrometer and transmission oil temperature ones mounted on the dash. This truck is also equipped with a Kelsey Energize brake controller, additional custom power outlets and a nice Pioneer cd player. The windshield is in good shape, only a few small rock chips and no cracks. The headliner is in great shape and none of the plastic trim is cracked or broken, rare, please see pictures. The AC and cruise control work great!! There are no cracks in the dashboard, please see pictures. The motor starts instantly and purrs, just serviced, fresh engine oil&filter service, a fresh fuel filter installed and the K&N air filter cleaned!! The engine is all stock, never turned up or tweaked in any way!! The automatic transmission shifts very smooth and crisp, just serviced with fresh fluid&filter and is equipped with the factory transmission cooler mounted under the bed!! Also, the truck has a dual battery set up as well as a muffler delete which the original owner had installed a long time ago along with the K&N air filter to help increase fuel economy. This truck does have the rare and desirable 3.55 axle ratio. All 6 tires are almost new, Wild Country Radial XTX size, LT 215/85R16, m+s load range E and mounted on factory Dodge wheels!! Please keep in mind that this is an older vehicle and is not in new condition!! Please expect normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this age and miles, this is not a brand new vehicle and it is not perfect!! If you are looking for a clean, Super Low Milage First Generation Dodge Cummins 4x4 12 Valve, than this might be the truck for you!! We have more pictures of the truck and close up shots of the blistering paint, please let us know if you would like to see them. Please view all pictures and ask questions before bidding. I reserve the right to end auction at any time! Buyer is responsible for pickup and or shipping. If you do not plan on buying this item do not bid. NO DEAD BEATS!! 1968 Dodge D200 'Lowliner' adds low-down diesel torque to a lowrider
Wed, Oct 30 2019When Mopar does a custom classic car, it's always spectacular, whether it's a Dodge muscle car like the 1,000-horsepower Super Charger or the monster Jeep Five-Quarter off-road pickup. For SEMA this year, Mopar skipped another Dodge sports coupe in favor of a 1968 Dodge D200 pickup truck done up as a lowrider, but with a twist. Or more accurately, with lots of twist. Under the gorgeous candy red metallic body is a 5.9-liter 24-valve Cummins turbodiesel straight-six. It makes an estimated 325 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque, and it's paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Representatives from Chrysler estimated the weight of the engine and transmission alone at 1,100 pounds. The diesel engine's power goes to the rear wheels, which are 22 inches in diameter and 11 inches wide with fat 325-mm tires. The front wheels are a tad narrower at 9.5 inches. 1968 Dodge D200 View 7 Photos As cool as the powertrain is, the exterior and the interior of the truck can't be ignored. This generation of Dodge pickup is already intriguing with its distinct character line with a little kink at the end and ribbed and louvered hood. These unique styling cues are accented now that Dodge removed various other details from the body such as the door handles, metallic trim and such. The bumpers were also reshaped to better fit the contours of the body, and the front wheels were pushed forward to reduce the long overhang of the stock truck. The bumpers, grille, and "smoothie" style alloy wheels were also painted in a solid cream color rather than chrome, which both accents the deep red body and gives the truck a more workmanlike feel, as low-trim cars typically had painted trim instead of chrome or stainless steel. The red paint also features subtle Cummins logos on the fenders and Dodge block lettering on the tailgate. The interior continues the simple and classy theme. The original bench seat remains, but with saddle brown leather upholstery. Leather trim has been added throughout, and exposed metal parts have been painted in the same color as the exterior. Simple gray cloth floor mats cover the bottom of the cab, and the instrument panel uses new Mopar gauges in a machine-turned metal housing. The original steering wheel remains, but a custom shifter with red Cummins shift knob sticks through the floor.
Jay Leno's Dodge Challenger raises $585k for USO in Scottsdale
Mon, Jan 19 2015Of all the metal moved in Scottsdale, AZ, this holiday weekend, the one you see here was hardly the most expensive. But it's noteworthy for another reason: despite being a relatively humble, second-hand 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, raised an impressive $565,625. That's because, first of all, it belonged to Jay Leno, and secondly because the proceeds were going to the USO. Leno donated the modern muscle car from his collection to benefit our men and women in uniform, and was on hand to present the car on stage at the Gooding & Company auction, along with USO president J.D. Crouch II and former Army chief of staff General George W. Casey, Jr. After frenzied and patriotic bidding, the gavel ultimately dropped at $360,000, accompanied by over $200,000 in additional contributions, bringing the total amount donated to the USO to over half a million. Commendable though it was, of course the Challenger didn't garner the highest bids at the auction. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider sold for $7.7 million and a 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS fetched $2.4 million. A rare 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series I Coupe Aerodinamico sold for over $4,070,000 – which, according to Sports Car Market, is the most ever paid at auction for a 400 Superamerica. And a 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 also sold for a record $1.98 million. Dodge recalls 2011-2016 Charger to give owners wheel chocks
Wed, Feb 3 2016A bizarre new recall gives wheel chocks to Dodge Charger owners so that people remain safe while changing the sedan's wheels. The campaign covers 441,578 examples of the 2011-2016 Charger in the US; plus 19,229 in Canada; 4,969 in Mexico, and 38,947 outside the NAFTA region. According to Dodge's announcement, owners should use the chocks to stabilize the Charger when using a jack to change the wheels, like in the case of a flat tire. Without them it's possible for the sedan to fall off the jack. The company is aware of three minor hand injuries from this problem. Dodge will notify owners by mail when they can pick up the free wheel chocks. FCA US spokesperson Eric Mayne offered Autoblog a more detailed explanation about this recall. "The body structure of this vehicle is unique. If owner's manual instructions are not followed, slippage may occur. Chocks are being provided to help ensure the instructions are followed," he said. "We are continually analyzing warranty data to identify ways to improve the ownership experience. When tire-jack data was reviewed, we identified a need to further assist our customers." Statement: Wheel Chocks February 3, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is conducting a voluntary safety recall to supply wheel chocks for an estimated 441,578 full-size sedans in the U.S. The chocks are for use, as instructed in the vehicle's owner's manual, when employing a tire jack to change wheels. When positioned diagonally opposite to the wheel being changed, the chocks will help stabilize the vehicle. Failure to follow the manual's instructions with an affected vehicle may cause the vehicle to come off the tire jack. FCA US is aware of three related injuries – all minor. The recall is limited to 2011-2016 Dodge Chargers. Also affected by the campaign are an estimated 19,229 cars in Canada; 4,969 in Mexico and 38,947 outside the NAFTA region. Recall notices will advise affected customers when they may obtain their wheel chocks, which will be supplied free of charge. Customers with questions or concerns may call the FCA US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403.
