1997 Dodge Ram 3500 dually extended cab 5.9L Cummins 12 valve turbo diesel, NV4500 5-speed manual transmission, rear wheel drive, Laramie SLT package w/leather interior, power drivers seat, tilt/cruise, power windows, power door locks, Cold A/C, AM/FM stereo w/CD, gooseneck hitch in bed and 2 inch receiver hitch attached to frame @ factory. I have owned this truck for the past eight years. When I purchased it, it had 199,600 miles on it. I purchase a factory rebuilt transmission, had it installed along with new Clutch and pressure plate(synchronizer was starting to make noise in 5th gear & would slip out of gear at times). Brakes were replaced @ about 215,000 miles, it now has 230k miles on it. Front tires have 4000-5000 miles on them. Rear tires still have decent tread. I have owned many new Dodge trucks every year from 1993 to 1999. I used to put 80-100,000 miles a year on them. Every fall, I would order a new truck and sell the previous year truck. I found the 1997 model year to be the most reliable. That’s why I decided to buy this one in 2006 because I could not justify buying a new truck to drive it only 3,500-4,000 miles a year. I am retiring this year and will be driving the Dodge truck even less, so I have decided to sell it. It has new paint( Colorado sun likes to fade the paint) & looks great, interior is showing signs of cracking from our dry climate, the rear seat has a sizeable tear (chunk) out of it. It was there when I got it. Being that it’s a work truck, it never bothered me enough to have it replaced. No rust as this truck was purchased new in western Kansas (Goodland) and has been in Colorado for the past 8 years. I have a copy of the original title from Kansas. It has the typical oil leaks for a diesel, nothing major. Also, I just noticed the dash vents aren’t working. The blend door blows cold air out defrost & floor vents & A/C blows cold. A vacuum line that operate the blend door may have come loose. Should be an easy fix. This is a good work truck. It is not new, but, it gets the job done. Take a look at the pictures that I have posted below. I think you’ll see how nice this truck is for the money.

Dodge whips covers off 2013 Blacktop series

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Dodge introduced us to its Blacktop model lineup a year ago with the 2012 Charger and followed up with more recently with the 2013 Challenger and 2013 Avenger. Now the automaker will be applying this ominous-looking treatment to the Durango, Grand Caravan and Journey models for 2013 as well. These models will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show, but Dodge has released most of the details for these new products including pricing and availability.
If the Grand Caravan R/T (aka, the Man Van) wasn't aggressive enough for you or its $30,000 starting price was a little too pricey, then the 2013 Grand Caravan Blacktop could be the ticket. Starting with the SXT trim level (which stickers at $19,995), the Blacktop package costs only $595, and adds unique features such as blacked-out headlights, grille and fog lights bezels and an all-black interior. The van rides on black-accented, 17-inch aluminum wheels. The Grand Caravan Blacktop is only available in monochromatic paint schemes limited to Billet Silver, Brilliant Black, Maximum Steel, Redline Red and Stone White
Likewise, the 2013 Journey Blacktop is offered only on the SXT model (starting at $18,995) with all of the crossover's normal options such as four- and six-cylinder engines, five- or seven-passenger seating and front- or all-wheel drive. The Blacktop package adds $995 to the Journey SXT's price and features many of the same black accents as the Grand Caravan like the headlights, grille, door mirrors and lower fascia. Exterior colors are limited to Bright Silver, Bright Red, Brilliant Black, Brilliant Red Tri-Coat, White, Pearl White Tri-Coat and Storm Grey, and the package's 19-inch wheels come in Gloss Black. Inside, the Journey Blacktop comes standard with black cloth seats and Chrysler's 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen, but black leather is also available as an option.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.

2018 Dodge Demon comes with a factory tune for race gas

Thu, Apr 6 2017

We knew the Dodge Demon was going to make a lot of power, but the ongoing question has been how much. We've seen estimates of between 757 and 1,121, but those have simply been guesses based on the numbers found in promo photos. However, if we had to put our bets on a horsepower rating, we'll probably go with the higher estimates because the Demon can run on race gas. Yes, the latest teaser for the Demon reveals that it will come with a factory tune optimized for race gas, which is rated at 100 octane or higher. Running such high octane, in combination with its heavy-duty intake cooling, means the Demon can handle absurd amounts of boost and advanced timing without running the risk of dangerous pre-ignition or detonation. Of course this also means the Demon should be capable of astonishing power with the high-octane calibration. The tune will be included in the Demon crate on a separate engine computer that the owner can swap out when he or she is ready to race. In addition to the computer, the center stack also has a button to activate the high-octane mode. A pair of fuel pumps and larger injectors also ensure the engine gets plenty of that sweet racing fuel. When not running the high-octane tune, the Demon runs on your average premium gasoline. Also, in case you accidentally run premium gas with the high-octane mode activated, the car will automatically switch to the default tune if engine knock is detected. You can get a peek at the system in the video above, and be on the lookout for a bonus video tomorrow. The full reveal will be next week on April 11 at the New York auto show. Related Video:
