Here is a clean 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck, with only 96k original miles!! This Dodge is equipped with the Bulletproof 6 cylinder, 5.9L, 12 Valve Cummins Intercooled turbo diesel motor, an automatic transmission and four wheel drive!!

The body of this truck is very straight. The paint shines and looks good! No rust at all!! There are some minor and superficial scratches, blemishes and rock chips in the paint/clear coat, expected for the age of the vehicle. As with most of these trucks, the original paint flaked off on the rear of the bed, passengers side, tops of the bed rails, as well as a small spot on top of the passenger side door which have been touched up. This was not a professional job and it is not perfect. The paint on the roof is also getting thin, please see pictures. The rest of the paint looks good, however the clear coat has started to lift in places, mainly on the hood and top of the passengers side fender, please see pictures. All of this is hard to notice unless you are standing close to the truck! Also, there is a small ding in the rear bumper, drivers side, a small chip in the plastic cover on the drivers side mirror and a dent on top of the bed rail, passengers side, please see pictures. This Cummins pickup is equipped with a fifth wheel rails as well as a gooseneck trailer hitch!!

The interior is in good shapeThe seats are in great shape no rips or splits, please see pictures. The carpet is in good shape as well, no rips and only a few minor stains, please see pictures. All of the power locks and windows work great! All of the guages work perfect including the Isspro manifold pressure and Pyrometer guages. This truck is also equipped with a factory digital temperature&compass read out located above the rear view mirror, a brake controller and the stock am/fm/tape stereoThe windshield is in good shape, there are only a few small chips and no cracks. The headliner is sagging in a few spots, please see pictures. The AC and cruise control work great as well!! There are no cracks in the dashboard, please see pictures. Also, the truck will come with the factory Dodge rubber floor mats, we pulled them out so that everyone could see the condition of the carpet

The motor starts instantly and purrs, just serviced, fresh engine oil&filter service, a fresh fuel filter installed and the K&N air filter has been serviced as well!! The automatic transmission shifts very smooth and crisp, just serviced with fresh fluid&filter!! The transmission was re-built less than 10k miles ago and had a nice big aftermarket transmission cooler installed, however we no longer have those records. The truck also has a newer Magnaflow exhaust with a 4" tail pipe. All 4 tires are matching and almost new, Bridgestone M773 II LT size245/75R16 m+s load range E and mounted on the factory chrome wheels!!

Please keep in mind that this is an older vehicle and is not in new condition!! Please expect normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this age and miles, this is not a brand new vehicle and it is not perfect!! If you are looking for a clean, super low milage Dodge Cummins 12 Valve 4x4, than this is the truck for you!!

Stellantis lays off salaried workers, cites uncertainty in EV transition

Sat, Mar 23 2024

DETROIT — Jeep maker Stellantis is laying off about 400 white-collar workers in the U.S. as it deals with the transition from combustion engines to electric vehicles. The company formed in the 2021 merger between PSA Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler said the workers are mainly in engineering, technology and software at the headquarters and technical center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, north of Detroit. Affected workers were notified starting Friday morning. “As the auto industry continues to face unprecedented uncertainties and heightened competitive pressures around the world, Stellantis continues to make the appropriate structural decisions across the enterprise to improve efficiency and optimize our cost structure,” the company said in a prepared statement Friday. The cuts, effective March 31, amount to about 2% of Stellantis' U.S. workforce in engineering, technology and software, the statement said. Workers will get a separation package and transition help, the company said. “While we understand this is difficult news, these actions will better align resources while preserving the critical skills needed to protect our competitive advantage as we remain laser focused on implementing our EV product offensive,” the statement said. CEO Carlos Tavares repeatedly has said that electric vehicles cost 40% more to make than those that run on gasoline, and that the company will have to cut costs to make EVs affordable for the middle class. He has said the company is continually looking for ways to be more efficient. U.S. electric vehicle sales grew 47% last year to a record 1.19 million as EV market share rose from 5.8% in 2022 to 7.6%. But sales growth slowed toward the end of the year. In December, they rose 34%. Stellantis plans to launch 18 new electric vehicles this year, eight of those in North America, increasing its global EV offerings by 60%. But Tavares told reporters during earnings calls last month that “the job is not done” until prices on electric vehicles come down to the level of combustion engines — something that Chinese manufacturers are already able to achieve through lower labor costs. “The Chinese offensive is possibly the biggest risk that companies like Tesla and ourselves are facing right now,Â’Â’ Tavares told reporters. “We have to work very, very hard to make sure that we bring out consumers better offerings than the Chinese.

The mad genius of killing the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200

Thu, Jan 28 2016

Sergio Marchionne isn't crazy. At least not with respect to the recent announcement that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will cease production of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. Instead of crazy I'd call this CEO ruthlessly pragmatic, and perhaps short-sighted. The latest revisions to FCA's most recent five-year plan tell some truths about the company's finances. In other words, it can't afford to build mainstream sedans. With only 87,392 units sold in 2015, the Dart is an also-ran in the segment. The axe falls easily there - Chrysler hasn't had a compact-car hit since the second-generation Neon. The 200 isn't so cut and dried: Last year sales increased 52 percent, and the 177,889 total for 2015 is more than those for the Subaru Legacy and Kia Optima. But looking at the overall FCA picture the Chrysler 200 has to go, at least from a short-term perspective. The vehicles that make big money – Ram trucks; Jeep's Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler – can't be made fast enough. FCA can't afford to idle the 200's Sterling Heights, MI, assembly plant to cut back on inventory when other plants are running flat out. It seems crazy to throw away 265,000 sales, but FCA is leaving money on the table by not building more profitable vehicles. The Wirecutter's Senior Autos Editor (and former Autoblogger) John Neff agrees. "As bold as it looks from the outside, he's really making a safe bet that their money is better spent on designing better and building more crossovers and trucks. He's probably right about that." But according to Jessica Caldwell, Executive Director of Strategic Analytics at Edmunds, "FCA's strategy of eliminating the Dart and 200 might be short-sighted if gas prices were to rise and Americans, once again, flocked to small vehicles. FCA must have plans to expand the lineup of small SUVs and position them as small-car alternatives in terms of price and fuel efficiency for this strategy to make sense." FCA's latest announcement focuses mainly on the profitable brands and nameplates. There's hardly a mention of Chrysler, Dodge, or Fiat. And future planning is where the plot holes appear. This realignment cuts dead weight from the product portfolio, but FCA's latest announcement focuses mainly on the profitable brands and nameplates. There's hardly a mention of Chrysler, Dodge, or Fiat. So what's Sergio up to? David Sullivan of AutoPacific thinks Marchionne is still looking for another CEO to hug.
