1999 Dodge Ram 2500 on 2040-cars
Halethorpe, Maryland, United States
| This ad is for my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L gas engine truck. The truck is 4WD and has an extended cab with the quad cab doors. Mechanically, the truck is in very good condition. I just purchased the truck in September of 2013. The truck runs great and drives as it should. I recently had the transmission replaced with a remanufactured transmission. Since I did not know what kind of service was done with the truck, I had the plugs, cap, rotor, and spark plug wires all recently replaced. Coolant was replaced while it was in the shop getting the transmission done. Again, mechanically, the truck is flawless. The truck currently has just under 113K miles on the odometer. The truck’s interior is in great shape as well. The seats are in good shape with no tears or rips. The dash has a form fitted dash mat installed. The previous owner had a 4 way emergency (white & amber) strobe lights installed (2 in the grille & 2 in the back window). The previous owner also installed a flip out monitor in the dash. You can use it when you want to watch a dvd, but it also displays the view from behind when you put the truck in reverse to use the back up camera. The unit also has an iPod hook up (so you can play your ipod & control it from the radio), satellite radio (I never subscribed), and GPS (I never used it). The truck has a sliding rear window also. I wanted a little more storage to hold little things (like my cell phone), so I installed visor pockets. The truck also has a Viper alarm with remote start that was recently installed. No more going out to a cold or hot truck. The truck has dark tint all around. The exterior of the truck is basically stock. It does have LED cab lights installed on the roof. Aftermarket headlights were installed. I picked these lights b/c they give better light output than most of the other aftermarket lights. KC highlights fog lights were installed to give even more light output. The previous owner also installed a set of back up lights on a separate switch for additional lighting when backing up. One bad thing about the truck is the passenger fender was replaced by the previous owner, but the paint was poorly done. I wanted a reliable truck, so the cosmetics never bothered me. There is rust on the bottom of the driver & passenger door. I have a new passenger door that I will include with the sale, but I have not found a rust free driver’s door yet. The passenger door will need to be repainted. There is no other rust on the bed or under the truck. The previous owner had the under carriage covered with a rust protectant, so no worries there. I did notice a small chip in the windshield, and the horn does not work. But the previous owner had air horns installed and has a separate button on the dash. **THE TOOLBOX IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE SALE.**

Don't miss out on this deal!*** On Feb-16-14 at 08:50:59 PST, seller added the following information: ****EDIT - KBB value on the truck in good condition is $10,474**** On Feb-19-14 at 15:48:09 PST, seller added the following information:  If the potential owner and I can agree on a price (if they are interested) I may agree to sell the toolbox with the truck. It is a Weatherguard brand toolbox (they usually sell for $600-800 brand new). The nice thing about this toolbox is that it is wired into the existing alarm system, so the contents are protected with the truck's alarm. |

Man crashes car through store window, says he needs a beer
Wed, May 17 2017Police body cameras captured a chaotic scene at a Cleveland-area convenience store after a man drove his car through the front of the store and barricaded himself in a walk-in cooler. According to WJW, the Convenience Mart in Rocky River, Ohio, had just closed in the early hours of May 7 when a black Dodge Challenger barreled through the security bollards at around 40 miles per hour and crashed through the front window. Police arrived to find the car parked in the store with its hazards on, the store clerk trapped beneath debris, and no driver. The clerk told officers the driver got out, told the clerk that he needed a beer, then wandered into the walk-in cooler. Officers found the driver barricaded inside the cooler. A tense standoff ensued with the agitated, confused man, who dared the cops to shoot him. Police learned he was suffering PTSD-related issues from his military service and job with the Federal Protective Service. "The conversation he was having with the police was deranged, consistent with somebody who was going through a mental crisis," RRPD Chief Kelly Stillman told WJW. Eventually, an officer was able to use a taser on the man, who put up a fight but was eventually subdued. He faces charges that include DUI and reckless driving. Thankfully, the store clerk escaped relatively unscathed. His life was saved by a deli case that absorbed the impact of the car and sheltered him from falling debris. "Had the car been over a couple more feet, he was hurt, it could have been serious bodily injury, even possibly death. I mean that's a four, five thousand pound automobile coming at 30, 40 miles an hour. He was lucky, very lucky," said Chief Stillman. Ford, Stellantis workers join those at GM in ratifying contract that ended UAW strikes
Mon, Nov 20 2023DETROIT — The United Auto Workers union overwhelmingly ratified new contracts with Ford and Stellantis, that along with a similar deal with General Motors will raise pay across the industry, force automakers to absorb higher costs and help reshape the auto business as it shifts away from gasoline-fueled vehicles. Workers at Stellantis, the maker of Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles, voted 68.8% in favor of the deal. Their approval brought to a close a contentious labor dispute that included name-calling and a series of punishing strikes that imposed high costs on the companies and led to significant gains in pay and benefits for UAW workers. The deal at Stellantis passed by a roughly 10,000 vote margin, with ballot counts ending Saturday afternoon. Workers at Ford voted 69.3% in favor of the pact, which passed with nearly a 15,000-vote margin in balloting that ended early Saturday. Earlier this week, GM workers narrowly approved a similar contract. The agreements, which run through April 2028, will end contentious talks that began last summer and led to six-week-long strikes at all three automakers. Shawn Fain, the pugnacious new UAW leader, had branded the companies enemies of the UAW who were led by overpaid CEOs, declaring the days of union cooperation with the automakers were over. After summerlong negotiations failed to produce a deal, Fain kicked off strikes on Sept. 15 at one assembly plant at each company. The union later extended the strike to parts warehouses and other factories to try to intensify pressure on the automakers until tentative agreements were reached late in October. The new contract agreements were widely seen as a victory for the UAW. The companies agreed to dramatically raise pay for top-scale assembly plant workers, with increases and cost-of-living adjustments that would translate into 33% wage gains. Top assembly plant workers are to receive immediate 11% raises and will earn roughly $42 an hour when the contracts expire in April of 2028. Under the agreements, the automakers also ended many of the multiple tiers of wages they had used to pay different workers. They also agreed in principle to bring new electric-vehicle battery plants into the national union contract. This provision will give the UAW an opportunity to unionize the EV battery plants plants, which will represent a rising share of industry jobs in the years ahead.
Jay Leno drives the Demon-powered SpeedKore carbon fiber Dodge Charger
Wed, Mar 13 2019Jay Leno drives all sorts of wild vehicles on his TV and YouTube series "Jay Leno's Garage," from concept cars to classics. Although many of the vehicles are museum quality, they don't all come through in straight by-the-book factory form, as Leno often likes to highlight the creative and insane builds from premium speciality aftermarket shops. One of his favorites is SpeedKore, which recently dropped by with its carbon-fiber-bodied 1970 Dodge Charger Evolution. After cementing itself as one of the best builds of the year at SEMA 2018, the high-performance Charger paid Leno a visit to show off its immaculately assembled blend of classic and modern Dodge. It's not the first time SpeedKore has stopped by, as they've previously shot videos together of the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and the 1970 Dodge Charger Tantrum. The Charger featured here wears its Evolution name because it is an updated take on the Tantrum build (which had 1,650 horsepower, by the way), but the two are quite different. The Charger Evolution uses numerous parts from Dodge's recent superstars, the Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Challenger SRT Demon. In fact, it's one of the only ways in the world to drive a Demon engine with a manual transmission. Under the hood is the 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8 from a Demon pre-production car, and SpeedKore has tuned it up to 966 horsepower. It pairs with a Tremec M6 6060 six-speed transmission from the Hellcat. At full bore, the whine of the supercharger paired with the grumble from the custom stainless steel SpeedKore exhaust headers makes for a thrilling, if not unharmonized, battle cry. Whereas some restomods have cut corners, shoddy build quality, or imperfect fittings, Leno notes that SpeedKore's work is top-notch, despite the entire exterior body and many pieces of the interior being fully replaced with glossy clear-coated exposed carbon fiber. According to SpeedKore Vice President Dave Salvaggio, the Charger weighs about 3,400 pounds. Check out the full video above or read full details from our time with the car at SEMA. And as a bonus, Autoblog photographer Drew Phillips recently got to spend a day shooting the Charger. His gallery of photos appears below.
