This is a real nice 2000 Dodge Ram 4X4. It is a single cab short bed. It has a recent paint job. It is black. The body has no rust it is real solid bumper to bumper top to bottom. The chassy is just as solid. The truck has all the factory spot welds. (No replacement panels. It has all original floors cab mounts and rockers.) The frame is nice and solid to. Not crusty like most of them. The bed is also 100% rust free along with the tailgate. Truck was painted about 1 month ago. It is nice and shinny. The inside of the truck is just as nice has the slt trim. Dose have a minor crack on the dash board really cant see it. Truck has power everything. Couple minor things are no working a/c (might need a charge)? and the radio is not working It has power and turns on but no volume. Its the factory radio. The truck has new tires they are 265-75-16 inch on nice alloy wheels. tires are almost brand new. It has the 5.9L (360) V8. Has plenty of power. It runs 100% no smoke ticks or knocks. No exhaust Leaks. It is nice and quiet. has good oil pressure. It is automatic the trans shifts 100% no slips or clunks. The 4x4 works and shifts in and out to nice and smooth as it should. It has hitch on the back for towing. It also has a true posi rear end which is nice. The rear is nice and tight too. I have driven dodges and they seem to have that slop when you put them in gear. This Truck drives like a new one shifts just like it should. It was well maintained cause there is no rot under this truck. That's why I decided to have it painted cause it was rust free. I also will include a nice push bar for the front it is chrome and shinny. Am selling this truck because its too small for me as far as what I do. I hate to see it go it really dose drive like a new truck. There are no lights on the dash no check engine nothing so that's a big plus for inspection. If you have any questions please call me at 607-201-7285. Text is fine too. I will help load on a trailer or you can drive this truck home.

Hypermiling a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel to 38.1 mpg
Fri, May 9 2014You never quite know what Wayne Gerdes has up his sleeve. The man who coined the term hypermiling is always looking for adventurous ways to prove that anyone – even you... yes, you – can eke out more miles per gallon just by changing the way you drive. Saying that is easy. Proving it by going on outlandish cross-country drives is hard. But for Gerdes and his team of fuel economy fiends over at CleanMPG, hard is half the fun. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. Which is why we always answer the phone when Gerdes calls. He likes to take journalists along on his drives, not only to try teach us how to hypermile but also to prove that we can be taught. The first time I 'helped' him and his team was when we got over 30 miles per gallon in a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT with the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6. The EPA rated that truck with at just 16 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. So, we'll count that trip as a success. Next up was a cross-country drive last fall in a trio of Audi TDI vehicles to prove that you don't need to drive extra slow to beat the EPA numbers. In fact, we made it from Los Angeles to New York City in just over 46 hours, cramped but not cranky. We had once again proven that how you drive is hugely important to your fuel usage. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. The EPA says that the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel we would be driving gets just 22 combined mpg (19 city and 27 highway). Gerdes' idea was to drive it as far north from Houston, TX towards Detroit, MI as we could go on one tank. The day before we left, our itinerary got an extra stop. Instead of taking one of the official Shell Eco-marathon prototype vehicles to Detroit, it was decided to bring the winning diesel-powered prototype from the just-finished event to The Henry Ford Museum, where it had been arranged the car would be displayed. The winning car was built by a small team (just four students) from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, IN, who managed to beat a number of college teams with a score of 1,899.32 mpg. That target would be a bit out of reach for the Ram, but could we get 1,000 miles from the tank? Since the truck has a 26 gallon tank (officially, anyway), that would mean the EPA says we could only go 702 miles, assuming all highway driving. Could we make up 300 miles with careful driving? That spells both challenge and fun.

Ralph Gilles shares how he imagined a modern-day Dodge Rampage in 1995
Fri, Apr 10 2020Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) design boss Ralph Gilles kicked off the company's 24-hour Design Sketch Battle by sharing an image of a mini-truck he drew in 1995. Called Tomahawk GTR, it never reached production. Gilles sketched the Tomahawk GTR when he was about 25 years old. He was a designer at the time, he wasn't promoted to a managerial position until 1998, and his obsession with performance already permeated the cars he drew. The Tomahawk GTR takes the form of a two-door, two-seater pickup with a muscular-looking front end, pronounced wheel arches, and a sizable spoiler over the cargo box. The wheels look almost Porsche-like. "I guess I was dreaming up a modern-day Rampage back then. This must be what happens when a want-to-be racer draws a truck," he wrote on his Instagram page, referencing the small, unibody pickup Dodge made from 1982 to 1984. His sketch moved the company's then-current design language in a sportier direction. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Dodge hasn't released a successor to the Rampage yet, at least not in the United States. The Fiat-based 700 that sister company Ram sells in Mexico is the closest thing available in 2020, but there's no indication it will be sold in America anytime soon. The firm used the Tomahawk name on a Viper-powered motorcycle concept introduced in 2003, and it dusted it off again for an SRT design study created in 2015 for Gran Turismo. We may see a Rampage for the 2020s emerge from the Design Sketch Battle. The photo accompanying FCA's announcement depicted a Dodge Challenger Hellcat turned into a pickup and fitted with a front end borrowed from a Ram 1500. The contest's winners will be announced on Instagram today. Instagram has recently turned into a window through which enthusiasts can peek into Gilles' mind. He published a futuristic-looking sketch in March 2020 that poked fun at the Charger and Challenger owners who leave the yellow protective stripes on their car while potentially shedding light on Dodge's next design language.
