Indy 500 Ltd. Ed. Viper Ram Pace Truck, 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 RARE!

Limited Edition 1996 Dodge Ram AKA the "Viper Ram" since it was the Pace truck that accompanied the very first Dodge Viper GTS around the track at the 1996 Indy 500! This is a 2WD automatic, 5.9 liter V8. Low mileage (less than 91 K). This truck is a genuine factory-built Indy 500 edition with a limit of 2,802 made, NOT a clone! Mechanically this truck has been well maintained and remains full of power, does not burn any oil. The ball joint on the passenger side squeaks. This is sadly also common on Dodge rams of the era.. The factory paint has flaked in some areas but is localized, I decided to leave it to the next owner to decide if they prefer to repair or keep as a survivor.  Small dents on driver side door (see pic) as a result of door dings. This truck has been garaged for 15 out of its 17 years.  Due to its age however, there are a few cracks in the dashboard.  Could buy a cap if you want to cover however, I continue to use Armor All.  This truck needs to be seen and heard to fully appreciate, especially the performance of the V8! This has been in our family since we purchased it new so there are no stories or unknown history! I have the old polaroid pic from when it was delivered to the dealership when we ordered it near Indianapolis, IN. Never in an accident, flood or otherwise damaged.  Additional tire with matching rim included along with rubber bed liner.  We have original touch up paint (color Brilliant Blue)  along with extra silver anodized valve stem caps for you (adds a nice touch)!  Original decals still in original packaging and never placed on the truck.  I have seen these sell for over $200 alone.
Hate to let this go but must.

Reason for letting it go :-(   grandbaby on the way and need a four door car or SUV

Ford, Chrysler and Mazda expand scope of Takata airbag recalls

Fri, Dec 5 2014

The scope of the Takata airbag inflator recall is ballooning once again across the United States. Where Honda has elected to take its driver-side airbag campaign nationwide, Chrysler Group and Ford have now announced expanded regional actions to cover some passenger-side airbag inflators. Mazda is adding more regions, as well. For Chrysler Group, the campaign covers the inflators on 149,150 examples of the 2003-model-year Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups. The recall is limited to vehicles sold or ever registered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and the territories of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Saipan, and the Virgin Islands. The company will begin notifying affected customers on January 19. According to Chrysler's announcement of the action, the passenger side inflators in these trucks "are of a type that is not used in any of the other vehicles affected by Chrysler Group's regional field action." The automaker says that it's not aware of any actual failures or accidents in these pickups and even claims there are no "observed failures in laboratory testing of its airbag modules." The company is continuing to study the problem, though. Ford is taking a similar step by issuing a recall of inflators for 38,500 examples of the 2004-2005 Ranger and 2005-2006 Ford GT. The campaign only affects vehicles originally sold or ever registered in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Certain zip codes of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa are also covered. There's already precedent for passenger-side airbags to be covered under the Takata inflator recall. When many automakers announced campaigns in June, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota all included that side in some of their repairs. Subaru subsequently did, as well. In addition, Mazda is expanding the scope of its recall to add Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Saipan, Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas to the affected areas. The company estimates that it has a total of 86,773 vehicles in need of repair. Mazda is also teaming with Toyota to begin independent testing of the Takata inflators. Scroll down to read all of the automakers' announcements of these newly expanded recalls. Statement: Air-Bag Inflators December 3, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich.

Dodge Demon's A/C helps its supercharged Hemi make more power

Thu, Mar 30 2017

Staying cool is one important key to performance. Simply, more air means more power, and cool, dense air is better than hot air. While forced induction might help make copious amounts of horsepower, turbos and superchargers produce heat. Intercoolers help, but the new Dodge Demon and its supercharged Hemi need a bit of an extra boost. In Drag Mode, the Demon's engine commandeers the car's air conditioning system to help chill things out. The Demon will have the first production application of a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system. Literally, the car's air conditioning system is used to cool the air going into the engine, dropping temps by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Dodge claims the system helps achieve "temperatures previously unattainable by pressure-charged street-legal production vehicles." As cool as this may sound, the technology isn't new. Ford had a prototype system in the early 2000s called SuperCooler, though that system never made it to production. While the Demon's system doesn't have a super cool name like the one from Ford, the pair essentially work in the same way. In theory, it should have the same effect as a bottle of nitrous. According to Autoweek, Ford's system bumped up the output of the F-150 Lightning by about 50 horsepower. Turns out that air conditioning isn't always a huge power suck. Related Video:

Mopar '13 Dart priced from $25,485*

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

For the past few years, Chrysler's Mopar in-house tuning division has created its own one-off versions of several cars in the automaker's portfolio, including the Mopar '10 Challenger, Mopar '11 Charger and Mopar '12 300. For 2013, the black-and-blue up-do has been given to the new Dart compact, and Chrysler has announced that the limited-edition sedan is now available for order, priced from $25,485, not including *$995 for destination.
Like previous Mopar edition vehicles, the Dart is painted in a signature Pitch Black exterior with an offset blue racing stripe. The sedan sits seven millimeters lower to the ground and gets visual add-ons like a chin spoiler, decklid spoiler and rear diffuser, along with gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels.
Performance wise, the Dart's 1.4-liter MultiAir inline four-cylinder engine remains, producing 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Mopar car gets a sport-tuned exhaust system along with revised power steering calibration and beefier brakes.
