2001 Dodge Ram 1500

New tires and new brakes at the end of 2012.  Long bed, 8ft.  It has a tow package.  It has a 4.7L V6, better on gas.  There is only 86,082 miles on this truck.  I would estimate that almost half of those are highway miles.  The engine on this truck is in excellent condition.  It runs very smooth.  This truck is very dependable.  It has a clear title.

This is a work truck.  Minor problems:  There are a few scratches, dents, rips in the seat, etc...  The dashboard is cracked.  The stock radio does not work, it wasn't working when I bought the truck.  The handle on the tailgate does not work, I have to pop open the tailgate with a screwdriver, an inconvenience.  There is a small crack/small hole in the front left blinker light but the light works fine.  The glove box has a broken hinge and a crack in it but it still opens and closes.  The U-haul trailer break cable came loose in the back and I was unknowingly dragging it so I can't say for sure if it needs to be fixed or not.  It will probably just need to platic piece on the end replaced.  If you aren't planning on towing a trailer or don't need a trailer break than this is not an issue for you.  I have never used it myself.  None of these things bothered me enough to bother to fix them. A couple hundred bucks and a trip to the junkyard can probably fix just about everything I mentioned above.  None of these quirks are mechanical.  This truck has a great engine and runs like a champ.  You are not going to find a better running engine on a 2001 Ram.

This truck was originally owned and maintained on a US base in Virginia? and they took very good care of it.  The guy I bought it from only had it briefly and he had to sell it for the same reason I am selling it - because I need more horsepower to tow a travel trailer.

I require a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24hrs of the close of the aucion.  The rest can be payed in cash when you come to pick up the truck.

The truck is located in Taos, NM  87557.  There is no reserve on this auction!

The 2017 Dodge Charger Pursuit will always watch your back

Thu, Feb 9 2017

Police cruisers spend the majority of their life parked and idle, waiting for the call to action. A parked car is a vulnerable one, especially when there may be incentive to disable or destroy that vehicle. FCA has worked with InterMotive, Inc., to supply safety technology that will detect movement behind the vehicle through the combined use of radar and the rear-view camera. Even better, FCA is putting this tech in every 2017 Dodge Charger Pursuit at no extra cost. According to InterMotive, the Officer Protection Package is designed to help awareness with an officer is parked and working inside the vehicle. The system will provide an alert if there is anyone moving behind the vehicle to ambush the officer. The system plugs into the OBDII port and is secured under the dash. The device can then be manually switched on. This triggers the rear parking sensors to activate and. If any movement is detected, the officer can look behind the car through the rear-view camera. The system will automatically lock the doors, roll up the windows and flash the taillights. No word on how much the system will cost for non-2017 vehicles, but it is available for order right now. Ford leads top searched-for car brands on Google in 2014

Mon, Dec 22 2014

With less than two weeks until 2014 takes its final bow, anyone and everyone is looking back on the past 50 or so weeks to see how they stacked up. For search giant Google, that means its time to check out its annual Trends report. Besides the most popular search term (the late, great Robin Williams), the most searched for gadget (the iPhone 6) and most searched for disease symptoms (quite worryingly, Ebola took the crown here), we have the most searched for automaker. With the long-awaited sixth-generation of one of America's most iconic vehicles, the Mustang, and a ground-breaking update for the US market's perennial best seller, the F-Series, it should come as no surprise at all that Ford was Google's most searched for automaker in 2014. Jeep captured second place, while Dodge, took third. We suspect introducing a pair of cars with 707 horsepower had something to do with that bronze medal... Scroll down to see the rest of this year's most searched for automakers, and then head into Comments and let us know if you're surprised by any of these. This content is hosted by a third party. Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.
