Hello to all the seasoned P W collectors out there as well as new comers to our special niche of the collector truck world. Here is a chance to own a rare Dodge One Ton Power Wagon that is virtually new ( NOT RESTORED ! )  Your looking at possibly the only model M601 w/ factory power steering in the U.S. (J.B. at Vintage Power Wagons confirmed this in a recent conversation ). This truck was shipped to the Israeli Military along with a few others to be used in the desert as a wrecker, thus the custom, factory made HD  diamond plate 6.5  x 8 ft  flat bed with roll bar. This particular truck was never commissioned, no hoist was ever mounted on the flatbed and the truck ended up being "re exported"  back to the U.S. in August of 1990 by a major military equipment broker. The importation value at that time was $16,160.00. It was then purchased by a friend to use on his farm for a small fencing project and subsequently purchased by myself nine years ago. It has 397 original, actual miles ( 639 km ). Note the speedo / odometer are calibrated in kilometers. Finally,  you will have a PW that will pull 80 on the clock !

As a Power Wagon collector for some 36 years, I was excited to acquire this truck because of the extremely low mileage and specs. My plans were to either utilize the Flatbed as a platform for a kick butt camper / Bugout machine ( especially since it is winch equipped ) OR do a very mild customization on the perfect, rust free body to include a color change to Navy Blue, a custom seating platform built into the stake bed flat bed,  finished off with 11 x 20 custom wheels with Michelin Desert tires. To emphasize the condition of this truck, it needs nothing other than new 9:00 x 16 rubber to go down the road . Since this is the standard Power Wagon 126 in wheelbase, a third option would be to replace the factory flatbed and bolt on a Military Civilian express bed. Pretty sure once you see the massiveness of the flatbed / rollbar, you are going to want to include it in your final plan.

With the passage of time and the pressure of other projects and interests, it is time to realize that we probably will not get around to any of the above plans. This dude is way too kool to sit around in a building year after year, only to take an occasional lap around the property and then go under cover again. So I am pleased to pass this along to someone that will put it to active use and build their dream PW machine,  be it a Parader, a Bugout,  a Camper or something even wilder that we haven`t thought of yet.

Vehicle is ALL original, rust free sheet metal and under carriage.  Equipped with 12 volt alternator electrics , drive train is very tight as to be expected,very dry underneath. Power Steering enables one hand turning with ease, working am / fm cassette radio mounted in glove compartment, speakers on the lower kick panels; canvas top and interior in good condition,  HD roll bar / HD flat bed , Braden winch never unfurled, HD  pintle hook on rear frame member. Factory installed HD rear PTO gear box with actuation lever, no doubt included in the build to accommodate the wrecker hoist that was never mounted on the flatbed. New components include : horn assembly, belts, hoses, water pump, wiper blades . fresh oil / filter and anti freeze . Tires are matching "made for USA vehicles"  Alliance non- directionals, good tread, hold air fine but side walls are weak and should be replaced for over the road usage. Matching five gallon Jerry cans are set up with Distilled water on the left side and 12 year old Jack Daniels on the right. Military issue sipping straws available upon request.....       This truck has been stored indoors at all times. Complete with original Gov. issued military owners manual and Craig stereo manual.

Also available for seperate purchase are the following Power Wagon accessories that may be of interest in connection with this truck :
 1)  A set of   (4)  11 x 20 custom wheels with old non - directionals ; these 44`s will need a lift kit to fit this chassis. I have previously had these mounted on several of my WM 300`s over the years. The look is stunning, ground clearance is improved as is the effective ratios for going down the road;
 and since your vehicle is power steering equipped, increased steering effort is of no concern.

 2)  A VERY RARE  Garwood PTO powered HD 2000 #  Capstan winch , would look /work great mounted on the front or rear of the flatbed, powered by the rear PTO gearbox, set up with a  shaft / sprocket / chain layout. OR, this can be mounted to the massive rear bumper just like the WDX belt pully assemblies were to the rear frame members from the factory, using a direct drive rear pto shaft .

Please call for quote. Either or both accessories could easily be shipped  out on the 601`s flatbed. Photos of these items are included for your review.

Temporary indoor storage is available after purchase at no charge. Also truck is located on a large farm facility which will accommodate any size hauler; we will assist with safe load on your transporter or can arrangre shipping for you at your expense.

Please Note :  VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN REGISTERED.  It comes with Hapag- Lloyd Bill of lading, Customs Service Entry Docs, State Certificate Of Sale, and Bill of Sale to new owner.

Retaining the right to end this auction up to the point reserve is met. ( Yeah, I`m already thinking letting this one go may be a huge mistake; on the other hand, it would only be the first one I`ve made today,   so far.......)

Questions and in person inspections welcomed ! Good luck and Have fun, that`s what it is all about ...............           CELL   973 534 2616                    EMAIL     joepowerwagon@gmail.com

Dodge performance could be electrified, new hybrid transmissions coming

Mon, Jul 8 2019

Dodge is arguably the last company around specializing in old-school muscle cars. Outside of a few models like the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and the new e-Torque offerings in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Wrangler, FCA as a whole seems behind the ball when it comes to green or electrified powertrains. That might change over the next few years, as Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger cars at FCA, told Automotive News that he sees the future of performance to be electrified.  At the reveal of the Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody a few weeks back, Kuniskis said "the absolute future is electrification of these cars." What form this takes or how soon this all might happen is unclear, but changes are likely coming. Kuniskis said the electrified models could be anything from pure battery-electric vehicles to plug-in hybrids to e-axles. FCA’s e-torque system already works with the companyÂ’s Hemi V8 in the Ram 1500, so, if thereÂ’s room in the engine bay, we imagine it would be pretty easy to adapt the mild-hybrid system for other V8-powered vehicles.  One thing to note is that FCA just inked a new deal with ZF. The latter will supply a new 8-speed automatic transmission for longitudinal front-engine cars that will work with both rear and all-wheel drive vehicles. FCA already uses a version of the ZF 8HP automatic, but the big thing to note is that the new transmission has a small electric drive unit built in. If this new transmission is as ubiquitous as the current one, you might find electrified versions of Alfa Romeo and Maserati products as well as those from Dodge, Jeep and Ram. This seems in line with what was announced in last yearÂ’s five-year plan.

Hennessey's Dodge Challenger Hellcat cranks out 1,032 hp

Mon, Feb 22 2016

Enthusiasts know the Dodge Challenger Hellcat produces 707 horsepower. It's one of the modern muscle-car era's iconic numbers. But for some, that's not enough. Enter Hennessey Performance. The Texas tuners loaded the Hellcat with a twin-turbocharger that works with Dodge's supercharger to boost output to 1,032 hp and 987 pound-feet of torque. Yes, that's an engine dyno rating, not at the rear wheels, but still! It's a little more complicated than a bolt-on booster. Called the HPE1000, the turbo kit has stainless steel headers and down pipes, billet aluminum compressor wheels, and a high-flow air system. There's also an an improved fuel pump, and the engine and chassis are specially calibrated. You also get numbered plaques signed by John Hennessey himself and the engine tech who builds your mill. All of this helps get your Hellcat to 60 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds, and it can do the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds at 142 mph. The Hellcat and it's 6.2-liter blown Hemi V8 are not for the faint of heart. Hennessey makes this Dodge downright demonic.
