This 1978 Orange Dodge Warlock is a RARE find...440 with AIR!!  It was found by my late husband in a barn (2009), and he drove it for a year before starting the restoration. It is in the beginning stages of a restoration.  He had researched the truck, and "supposedly" it is 1 of 74 made in 1978......60 were black and the other 14 were red, green, and orange!!!!   He had the complete exhaust redone immediately after purchasing the truck ($2500).  Since his passing 3 years ago, it has been sitting in a temperature controlled garage.  After charging the battery, the truck will turn over.  It needs the old gas cleaned out, and some gas put in the carburator.  I have a mechanic that will be getting it running, so you can hear the engine.  It was driven for a year before it was parked for the restoration.  The first few pictures were taken when he purchased the truck, and the remainder are recent.  All of the parts, that are shown in the pictures, were found placed in the cab of the truck.  The picture with the wood floor in the bed was from when he purchased the truck.  I have not found the wood slats for the bed, so I am assuming they were discarded because he was going to replace them.  The odometer has rolled, but only because he was fixing a problem with the gauges.  The truck had approx. 60,000 miles on it when it was parked.  The "GK9" underhood equipment label is not present.  I am selling it "AS IS".  A cashiers check for the deposit in the amount of $1,000.00 needs to be sent overnight within 48 hours after purchase.  The balance is due within 7 days when the vehicle is picked up.  If this time frame is not doable, I will make other arrangements with the purchaser.  Due to the fact that I am also advertising locally,  I have the right to cancel bidding at any time.  If you have any questions, please free to call me at anytime at (309) 253-7510...Thank you, Sue

From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511

Fri, Apr 7 2017

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Watch dual-engined Dodge SRT4 do a FWD burnout, a RWD burnout, then AWD launch

Wed, Dec 3 2014

There's something fantastically insane about racers who go out on their own and build something unique. Just take this crazy video from last year of a twin-engine Dodge SRT4 at a drag strip that can burn the rubber at either end – or both ends – at a moment's notice. With tires sticking out way past the fenders, a massive cooling system at the front and no back window to speak of, this Dodge is clearly meant solely for speed. Though it's real party trick is being able to spin the front or rear wheels independently. The setup makes for three quite showy burnouts. When it came time to actually get down the track, things got somewhat awkward. Like other twin-engine creations we've seen, the separate powertrains make for some odd sounds and a weird look launching down the strip. Still, there's no doubt that the engineering behind this Frankenstein is very impressive. Scroll down to see this monster in action and another of it in a very mismatched race last year. Dodge could return to NASCAR, Marchionne says

Mon, Dec 5 2016

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne said he'd "love to" bring Dodge back to NASCAR. The news could signal a potential shift in America's favorite motorsport away from today's three-manufacturer arrangement, but we're wondering just how much sense Dodge's return would make amid NASCAR's dwindling television ratings and attendance figures. It took a visit from Ferrari at NASCAR's biggest icon, Daytona International Speedway, for the Ferrari Challenge World Finals to get Marchionne on the subject of Dodge and stock car racing. When asked about the possibility on Sunday, the FCA boss revealed he'd just spoken to NASCAR executive vice president Jim France the night before about Dodge's return. Dodge announced its NASCAR departure in 2009, as it was in the grips of a major bankruptcy alongside cross-town rival General Motors. While GM's Chevrolet brand stuck it out and won three of the last four manufacturer championships, the final Mopar-powered team flipped to Ford in 2012. Marchionne takes the blame for the decision, citing reasons that are, frankly, very good. "I am the guilty party at the table. In 2009 we came out of bankruptcy; we couldn't [justify] racing in NASCAR when I was trying to pay bills and make payroll," Marchionne said, according to Autoweek. "I think we're in a different place now." NASCAR is in a different place, too. The sport has struggled with disappointing television ratings in the past several years, and it's not uncommon to tune into races at some of the sport's marquee tracks, like Bristol Motor Speedway, and see scores of empty seats. Sponsorship dollars are also drying up. That could explain Marchionne's non-committal follow-up comments. "We need to find the right way to come back in," Marchionne said, adding that he'd revisit the idea with Jim France and International Speedway Corporation CEO and NASCAR board member Lesa France Kennedy "in short order."
