It really hurts to sell this, but being in Wisconsin it just isnt practical and I hate to see it just sit all winter long. I purchased this from a farm owner deep in the heart of Wisconsin farm country. Heres the information the owner before me informed me of : Odometer is currently a little over 31k miles. He told me this is original but I honestly cannot confirm it, but I believe it to be the truth so please read on.This is the info I have. The title shows 45362 miles, and heres what I found by paying for a report from vehiclehistoryrecord.com. Title last updated before him in 1990.Then a duplicate purchased in 1996. The registration was renewed every so often after that. According to this gentleman, when it was renewed in 1990, the mileage was actually 25,362 and the DMV mis-wrote it as 45,362. And between then (1990) and when I got it earlier this year, they guessed that they might have put 4 or 5 thousand miles on it (hence the 31k now showing). These were straight forward, good old fasioned nice people in their 50's. The only used the truck for light farm work, hauling this or that when needed. I picked it up in person, and there was REALLY nowhere they needed to go with this truck and had many modern vehicles they could have used (they were WAY out in the boonies). I have no reason to think they were lying to me. He signed a statement for me, claiming the odometer statement on the title is incorrect, and I shall include that with this truck. With that said, heres the truck description. Interior just amazing. No dash cracks, some light fading on the top door plastic skins. One very small rip on the drivers side seat from getting in and out, otherwise seat is just amazing. Inside door pieces, etc, nice and rust free. Interior all original except they put a cd player in it (which works, and has a remote). Body and paint is beautiful. There is one dent on the rear right box, about 10 inches high, and should be an easy pullout. Some rust on rear bumper, front is nice as well as rest of chrome. There is a rust spot under the front fender well as shown. You dont see ANY rust on the actual viewable truck body. Just some paint road chips as shown on the lower rockers. Engine area very nice, no rust/rot/etc. Very clean engine. Underneath has some light rust spots, but extremely solid. Its gonna need brake work. They work, but I wouldnt do big hills or towing with them right now. I just got an estimate from the local shop, they figure around $300 to completely re-do the brakes including lines. Exhaust has a slight leak at the donut connection (what old 225 based Mopar doesnt!?). Tires are a bit weather checked, heck a couple might even be original. BEAUTIFUL original hubcaps. I spent 8 hours building those bed rails, hope ya like them :) Ive been driving this all summer. No starting/running issues. Fires right off, runs beautiful. Everything works except fuel guage (probably a rusty wire), temp guage (looks like its disconnected under the hood), and left brake light which is just a ground wire. Had it fixed once, they did a shitty job and the wire broke back off just recently. This is an all around beautiful survivor truck. I just cannot believe Im listing it, but family needs come first and we need a newer vehicle. Please keep in mind, its a 1985 not a 2013. Theres just enough little things to make sure you have an excuse to tell the ole' lady your gonna be wrenchin in the shop for a while. Please email with any questions. Payment due within 7 days. Pickup/shipping arrangements completely up to the buyer. I can hold it for a week or two. But it needs to be paid for. I prefer money order for final payment, or cash if your coming to get in person within the 7 days. Or if you prefer paypal contact me first. $200 deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. Thanks for looking, and have a great week ! ![]() Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items. |

Dodge recalls 27k Darts for bracket that can disrupt transmission module
Thu, Sep 17 2015Dodge is recalling 27,520 examples of the 2013-2015 Dart with dual-clutch gearboxes. The mounting bracket for the transmission control module can affect the part's operation and cause the compacts to suddenly shift into neutral. According to the automaker, 23,688 of them are in the US, 3,376 in Canada, 5 in Mexico, and 451 elsewhere. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports these examples carry build dates between February 24, 2012, and June 16, 2015. There are also no reports of accidents or injuries. Because of the way the bracket is mounted, the part can put too much force on the control module's circuit board and cause it to shift out of gear. The engine and airbags remain operable if this happens. To fix things, dealers will install a redesigned mount and replacement module. Related Video: Statement: Mounting Bracket September 14, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is recalling an estimated 23,688 cars in the U.S. to replace certain control modules and mounting brackets that may contribute to a loss of motive power. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. An FCA US investigation prompted by a small number of warranty claims discovered a control-module mounting bracket may apply too much force and disrupt the function of a circuit board within the module. This condition, unique to certain cars equipped with dual dry-clutch transmissions (DDCT), may cause the transmission to shift into neutral. However, the engine remains on and the vehicle's air-bags, as well as other safety features, are unaffected. The condition may also be preceded by the illumination of a dashboard warning light. Customers who observe this are urged to contact their dealers. The campaign is limited to certain 2013-2015 Dodge Darts equipped with DDCTs. Additional vehicles will be recalled in Canada (3,376), Mexico (five) and outside the NAFTA region (451). Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed free of charge. Service will entail installation of a redesigned mounting bracket and replacement of the control module. Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.
How fracking is causing Chrysler minivans to sit on Detroit's riverfront
Fri, 25 Apr 2014It's fascinating the way that one change to a complex system can have all sorts of unintended consequences. For instance, there are hundreds of new Chrysler Town and County and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans built in Windsor, Ontario, sitting in lots on the Detroit waterfront because of the energy boom in the Bakken oil field in the northern US and parts of Canada.
The huge amount of crude oil coming from these sites mostly use freight trains for transport, and that supply boom has resulted in a shortage of railcars to carry other goods. According to The Windsor Star, North American crude oil transport by train has gone from 9,500 carloads in 2008 to 434,032 carloads in 2013. Making matters worse, some North American rail infrastructure is still damaged because of this year's harsh winter, and that's slowing things down even further.
Chrysler admits to The Star that it has had some delivery delays due to the freight train shortage. In the meantime, it's using more trucks to deliver its vehicles. Trucking is a far less economical solution, partially because a train can carry so many more units at one time, but alternatives are slim. The Windsor plant alone has a deal for 33 trucks to distribute the minivans around Canada and the Midwestern US.
The Dodge Demon gets a Drag Mode and a lesson in Newtonian physics
Thu, Feb 23 2017It's Thursday morning, which means we have more news on the upcoming Dodge Demon, the pumped-up Challenger Hellcat variant that's looking to cause mayhem at a drag strip near you. This week's video, "Third Law," shows the Demon's revised suspension in action and displays another one of SRT's cryptic messages. Dodge claims that the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 in the Hellcat twins is compromised because it's fitted to a car that needs to be comfortable on the street in addition to a performer on the drag strip. Not so with the Demon, as Dodge says the car is "designed to be highly competent in all drive modes and configurations," including the all-new Drag Mode. Dodge says details about the new mode will trickle out over the next few weeks, but all the info this week focused on suspension. The "Third Law" in this week's title refers to Isaac Newton and motion: "When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body." We're not sure what Newton would have thought seeing the sidewall wrinkling Nitto NT05R drag radials in action, but he'd probably have a reaction of some sort himself. An ideal suspension setup for the drag strip makes for a poor setup on the road. As Dodge puts it, the "old school" way to set up a drag car was to "get the quickest reacting springs upfront, the softest rebound front shocks that wouldn't restrict the springs' reaction, remove any restrictions (sway bar) and increase the compression of the rear shocks." This would give a car great front to rear weight transfer but made for very poor lateral direction control, meaning minor corrections were difficult. The Demon's Drag Mode will use electronics to give the car the best combination of launch and lateral stability. Dodge listed some of the parts to help aid in this goal. They also gave us a few equations that we can't make sense of. Let us know if you have any clues. Hardware: 35 percent lower rate front springs/28 percent lower rate rear springs 75 percent lower rate hollow front sway bar/44 percent lower rate rear sway bar Drag-tuned Bilstein Adaptive Damping Shocks Software: Rear = F/F and Front = F/S F/F – F/S maintained @ wide open throttle (WOT) F/F – F/F < WOT Traction control disabled/ESC maintained Result: 13.5=575@500 Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
