1953 Dodge half-ton pickup in restorable condition. Almost no rust - lived most of its life in the desert. Comes with title. Odometer shows 23,473, but it's most likely 123,473 miles. It's largely complete. Here's an inventory of the condition: Nose: Pushed in; grille bars missing. Bumper: Badly bent in the middle. Could be straightened. Chrome headlight rings in complete and good. Right front gender crunched, but no rust. Left side of the butterfly hood bent. Driver's door: Straight. Small rust spot at bottom edge. No driver's side door glass. Under-door valance is good, rust-free. Driver's sider running board has a small dent. The gas cap is new. Bed: 6 foot, 7 inches. Wood floor in better than usual condition with some rot at the front, but intact otherwise. Was restored at some point in the past. Left-rear fender cut down. See photo. Tailgate: Slightly bowed, but no rust. Opens and closes properly. Spare tire hanger is in place, but there's no spare. Right-rear fender has a shallow dent, no rust. Right-side running board wrinkled at the trailing edge. Passenger door: Straight, no major dents. One small spot where metal is flaking at the front. No glass. Left-front cowling: Three aftermarket holes where something was mounted. Don't know what. One might be rust. Tires: All junk. Wheels: 15-inch. Hubcaps: Two original. Engine: Complete, original flathead 6. Hasn't run in years, but prior owner said it might. Has 1-barrel carb and two glass-bowl fuel filters. Radiator is in place with no visible damage. All belts, hoses and look good. Likely replaced not too long ago. Interior: Floor is rust-free except for a small hole in the transmission access cover. Battery cover is good. Steering wheel is good, with button in place. Gauges all look original and are in good shape. Radio speaker cover is good; the blank for the radio hole is rusty. I have the keys for the ignition. All knobs appear to be original except the choke. The chrome dash strip is faded but otherwise good. Driver's side windshield is broken but in place; passenger side is good. Driver's side sun visor is good. The rear window is good, and the gun rack is usable. Seat is in above-average condition. Glovebox door is present, but not currently attached. Roof is dented in. No dome light. Hood ornament is custom - a bass fiddle from a music trophy. |

Ranking Dodge's Charger Hellcat with the fastest sedans in the world
Thu, 14 Aug 2014
"This is a car that most brands would never bring to market." - Tim Kuniskis
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis had reason to be confident, perhaps even a bit cocky at the reveal of his brand's newest halo car, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. As he said simply, it's the "quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world."
Rare Dodge Daytona found in barn heads for auction
Tue, Dec 15 2015An American icon is headed to Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida auction next January. Charlie Lyons, owner of a restoration shop focused on old Chrysler products, got a lead on a two-owner 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that had been sitting in a barn in Glenwood, Alabama for decades. Dodge built 560 Charger Daytonas (Canada and US production) to homologate the model for NASCAR racing, and then that car and the successor Plymouth Superbird terrorized NASCAR tracks for 18 months. The production car, however, 18 feet long and considered ugly, wasn't popular at the time, so many were beat up or simply disappeared. Around 385 are thought to exist today. Lyons said the first owner of this car was the town judge, who bought it for his wife. In 1974 the second owner - just 18 years old at the time - bought it for $1,800 so he could drive it to Panama City, Florida, for Spring Break, and had flames painted on the front fenders and the scallops trimmed in white. Otherwise this barn find is complete and stock, with matching numbers throughout, R4 Charger Red paint and a white tail, bucket seats, center console, three-speed TorqueFlite automatic, and 20,553 miles on the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8. Hot Rod has the long story of how Lyons found the car and convinced the owner to sell for what he jokingly called "a shoebox full of folded money." Hagerty says a concours-worthy model can command $262,000. Mecum's pre-sale estimate for this Charger Daytona is $150,000 to $180,000. That sounds steep, but Mecum did sell another perfectly restored Hemi-powered 1969 Charger Daytona for $900,000 at this year's Kissimmee auction to actor David Spade. Related Video:
Mopar '13 Dart priced from $25,485*
Wed, 12 Jun 2013For the past few years, Chrysler's Mopar in-house tuning division has created its own one-off versions of several cars in the automaker's portfolio, including the Mopar '10 Challenger, Mopar '11 Charger and Mopar '12 300. For 2013, the black-and-blue up-do has been given to the new Dart compact, and Chrysler has announced that the limited-edition sedan is now available for order, priced from $25,485, not including *$995 for destination.
Like previous Mopar edition vehicles, the Dart is painted in a signature Pitch Black exterior with an offset blue racing stripe. The sedan sits seven millimeters lower to the ground and gets visual add-ons like a chin spoiler, decklid spoiler and rear diffuser, along with gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels.
Performance wise, the Dart's 1.4-liter MultiAir inline four-cylinder engine remains, producing 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Mopar car gets a sport-tuned exhaust system along with revised power steering calibration and beefier brakes.
