 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 2wd with 283,000 miles

Legendary 12 valve Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel bulletproof 1 million mile engine
I have owned this truck almost 5 years and never had an engine issue. This truck to my knowledge has never been tuned or had the injection pump played with.

Inside is very clean, no rips, tears, or smells.

I have taken very good car of this truck over the years, in the last 7,000 miles I've had:

The transmission went through, brand new torque converter, full flush with new fluid and filter. Shifts perfect. $1000

All new front brakes, rotors, calipers, pads, everything. Stops excellent. $800

New rear drums around 15,000 miles ago.

New alternator (lifetime warranty) and 2 brand new batterys - truck fires right up

New radiator - runs very cool

New speed sensor in the rear diff with brand new fluid.

New ball joints in the front end, steering is tight.

All the tires have very good tread and are 10 ply

New serpentine belt.

The flat bed is a 8.5 L x 7 W with gooseneck and class 3 hitch. This truck can tow anything you put behind it or you can drive it empty and get 20mpg all day long. Great all-around truck. I added the flatbed at around 240k and have only pulled a gooseneck for about 3k miles total, so this truck hasn't been worked hard.

This truck is very solid mechanically, theres just a few small things I haven't yet gotten around to fixing:

Theres a loose connection or a bad vacuum line somewhere, I'm not getting any air out of the dash. The A/C does work very well, just need to find the bad vaccum line.

There is some chipping of the paint I need to repair.

The brake and abs light is on, brakes seem to work fine. Maybe a wheel speed sensor is bad.

I pulled the front seats to clean the carpet, the seat sliders got a little out of wack in the process and could use a little attention. Also need to get a bolt for the drivers side seat belt.

It's been sitting for a few months and could use a new fuel filter

Bondo work on the lower passenger door could be better, can be easily fixed.

Just little stuff, I may have time to address soon, I'm just not sure.

This is a great truck that has been taken care or, don't miss out on a rare dodge 12valve. These things just seem to keep going up in value. Clean title.

Price is firm. serous inquires only

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

High-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT spied

Fri, Sep 9 2016

Dodge is working diligently on revamping its lineup with new and refreshed models, including the high-performance Durango SRT due in 2017. Spy shooters captured a Durango with an aggressive front end that appears to fit the SRT bill, though it could just be a refreshed Durango. This Citadel-badged prototype is nearly identical to the current three-row SUV. The front fascia, which is being held in place by tape and has numerous rough edges, features a massive vent at the bottom and a distinct, three-holed air intake system just below the grille. The grille is also lacking the Durango's cross-like design. The front end appears to have gaping holes on both sides, with the right side being covered up by tin foil. The extra vents could be there for aerodynamic purposes, for cooling purposes, or just a pair of fog lights that Dodge doesn't want people to see. The high-performance SUV is expected to get a full makeover on the outside, which includes sportier wheels, a more aggressive hood, athletic body panels, and some aerodynamic components. The meat of the SUV, the engine, is still a mystery. While the Hellcat brothers feature a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a previous report by Automotive News claims the upcoming Durango SRT will be powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The 475-horsepower motor is currently in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Regardless of what type of engine the Durango will have, it looks like Dodge really is working on a high-performance SUV to enter the continually-growing segment.
