.THIS IS AN EXTREMELY NICE AND CLEAN 2004 INTREPID SEDAN THAT WAS OWNED BY THE PINELLAS COUNTY GOVERNMENT AND WAS USED VERY LITTLE AND VERY GENTLY. IT WAS NOT A POLICE CAR, JUST A VEHICLE USED FOR OFFICE USE AND THAT TYPE OF THING. IT HAD ONE DRIVER WHO DID NOT SMOKE AND WAS VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT IT'S CARE AND MAINTENANCE. I DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO HAVE IT DETAILED, IT WAS THIS CLEAN WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I HAVE GOTTEN MANY INTREPIDS FROM THIS SAME DEPARTMENT AND HAVE HAD EXCELLENT RESULTS FROM THEM. THIS CAR HAS ORIGINAL PAINT ON IT THAT'S IN GREAT SHAPE, NO REAL ISSUES AT ALL. THERE IS NOT A SPECK OF RUST ON, IN, OR UNDER THIS CAR ANYWHERE, IT'S BEEN A FLORIDA CAR ALL IT'S LIFE AND THE UNDERNEATH LOOKS AS CLEAN AS THE TOP. THE GRAY CLOTH INTERIOR IS LIKE NEW ALSO, AND IT LOOKS LIKE NO ONE EVER SAT ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE DRIVER'S SEAT. SEATS, DOOR PANELS, CARPET, DASH, AND HEADLINER ARE ALL EXCELLENT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE CLEAN AND CLEAR. THE GOODYEAR TIRES ARE ALL NEARLY NEW, THE TRUNK HAS THE SPARE, JACK, AND CARPET ALL IN PLACE. IT HAS A NICE LEGAL TINT ON IT, AND THE A/C IS ICE COLD. ALL THE POWER OPTIONS WORK FINE, INCLUDING THE POWER SEAT AND CRUISE CONTROL. IT HAS A V6 ENGINE THAT RUNS SMOOTH AND QUIET, IT'S REAL GOOD ON FUEL, AND THE TRANSMSSION SHIFTS PERFECTLY. THIS CAR NEEDS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, JUST GET IN IT AND DRIVE IT BACK TO WHEREVER YOU LIVE. Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months
Wed, Dec 31 2014Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all. Dodge Dart getting hatchback variant... sort of
Thu, 25 Apr 2013In other parts of the world, Fiat builds and sells a version of the Dodge Dart called the Viaggio, and it appears that in addition to the current sedan bodystyle, a new hatchback version of the car is also in the works. Autocar says that the general manager for China's Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture, John Burton, has confirmed that a new Viaggio hatchback will be revealed by the end of this year before it goes on sale in early 2014.
The Viaggio will soon be joined by the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which in China will be called the Liberty Light, at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant. While the idea of a Dodge Dart hatchback might be enough to enable most of us to forget about the Dodge Caliber, a North American variant doesn't appear to be in the cards. We reached out to Chrysler PR boss Rick Deneau, and he offered a succinct: "No plans at this time."
2016 Jeep Wrangler recalled over impact sensor wiring
Thu, Oct 20 2016Fiat Chrysler just announced a pair of recalls totaling nearly 311,000 units. The bigger recall affects certain 2016 and 2017 model year Jeep Wranglers. Although, since FCA claims all of the affected 2017s are in the company's hands, really, only 2016 owners should pay attention here. The affected Wranglers suffer from an issue where wiring disconnects from impact sensors in certain types of crashes, potentially preventing the airbags and pretensioners from activating. FCA uncovered the problem in what its press release calls "a routine, in-house crash test" and claims "service availability is imminent." The affected Jeeps require a simple rewiring. The other recall, announced Tuesday, is more of a fleet issue, affecting 2007 to 2013 model-year Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs and 2011 to 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit police vehicles. There's a problem with "premature diode wear" in alternators that are subject to "frequent load cycling, at or near maximum amperage, [or] in hot ambient temperatures." Affected alternators could short out, causing a vehicle to stall or potentially catch fire. FCA lists 182,743 affected Wranglers in the US, 18,011 in Canada, 3,087 in Mexico, and 20,948 in global markets. The Ram/ Charger Pursuit recall lists 74,833 vehicles in the US, 10,077 in Canada, 1,088 in Mexico, and 134 outside the NAFTA region. Of all those vehicles, the Jeep recall hasn't caused any injuries or fatalities, while FCA says it's aware of one "potentially related injury" and no accidents due to its fleet vehicle recall. FCA says it will notify owners/operators of affected vehicles when service appointments are available. As per usual, all the work is free of charge. Related Video:
