The Fate of the Furious music video shows how much Demons love donuts
Fri, Mar 3 2017The new Dodge Demon is leaking into everything related to The Fate of the Furious in the lead-up to both the car and the film's debut in just over a month. The latest teaser involves Demons doing donuts and burnouts in the Get Off music video, with copious amounts of both tire smoke and hip hop to accompany the tire-shredding shenanigans. It also gives us a look at some of the film's other cars. Get Off is a song by Travis Scott, Quavo, and Lil Uzi that's featured on The Fate of the Furious soundtrack, which is out now. The teaser for the music video features a pack of Dodge Challengers - both Demon and non-Demon spec - along with a line of non-SRT related products. From what we can see, the movie will have a Scion FR-S/Toyota 86, a highly modified C2 generation Chevrolet Corvette, and a Mercedes-AMG GT S. In typical over-the-top fashion, the final shot shows a submarine bursting through ice in pursuit of several cars, including a Subaru WRX. We can't see much else as the full music video hasn't been released, but expect a few more teasers once it does. The Fate of the Furious debuts Friday, April 14, just days after the Dodge Demon's debut at the New York Auto Show. 2021 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak costs over $140,000
Wed, Sep 2 2020Although the 2021 Dodge Challenger Super Stock is the most powerful and most expensive Challenger you can buy for the street, Dodge has an even more beastly, and more expensive, version that's only for track and racing use. It's the 2021 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, shown last year, and it rings in at $143,485, not including destination fee or taxes. That money could buy you a Super Stock and a basic Hellcat, and both of those could be driven to the local cruise-in. But the Drag Pak features a special supercharged 5.8-liter engine built for racing. While Dodge hasn't given exact power numbers, we know the last Drag Pak from 2015 made a whopping 1,200 horsepower. The new Drag Pak of course also gets other drag racing equipment such as a manually-shiftable three-speed automatic, solid rear axle, roll cage, drag tires, a wheelie bar and a parachute. This all means that a Drag Pak will thoroughly stomp any road-legal Challenger at the drag strip. The Drag Pak has exclusivity on its side, too. Dodge is only going to build 50. If you want a shot at one, you or your dealer will have to call into Dodge/SRT Concierge to register for the chance to order one. The phone number is 800-998-1110, and they're taking phone calls as of today. Order books open on September 9. Related Video:
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is getting a meaner hood
Wed, May 2 2018Though we weren't really worried Dodge would discontinue it, we're glad to hear the Dodge Challenger Hellcat will continue into the 2019 model year. It's also getting some updates for the new year, as shown in these teasers from Dodge. The biggest one we can see is the hood, which trades the relatively subtle center scoop and dual heat extractors for a pair of big angry nostrils. Dodge says the twin hood scoops are a throwback to past Dodge performance models, take the Dart Swinger, for example. They also bring to mind some mid- to late-2000s Pontiacs, but we'll try to focus on the classic Mopars. A little bit of Photoshop work helps highlight some other aspects of the 2019 Challenger Hellcat. The Hellcat Widebody will clearly continue for the new year, too, as the vehicle in the teaser image has the bulging arches found on that Challenger as well as the one-year-only Demon. We can also make out five-spoke wheels that may have split spokes. Most of the body looks like the current model, too, so we don't expect any major changes to the chassis or powertrain. The only other information Dodge revealed about the 2019 Challenger is that more information will come this summer. So expect to hear more in just a few months.
