This is an original, unmolested 1976 Dodge Dart Sport, Spirit of 76 model. It has only 69,000 original miles. It is not perfect by any means, but cleans up and shows very nice. It has the 225 slant six motor with the A633 four speed transmission. The rear end is a 8 1/4. As for production numbers, I have found anywhere from 200 to 1000 ever produced. The door panels and the rear window panel have never been modified for speakers, and the radio is totally original. The original four speed shifter is made by Hurst. This is a very rare car, have you ever seen one before? The tires and wheels are aftermarket. They are made by Vision, Legend series, and cost over $1000 for the wheels alone. It has new brake pads on the front, and new shoes on the rear. The wheel bearings have been repacked as well. I have gotten 24 miles per gallon while commuting with this car. It has started every time when my other cars wouldn't start. It has an engine heater. It really needs to be restored, but I haven't the time or money to do so. The interior is decent, but the drivers seat is torn. The original carpet is in great shape. The door seals are nice and soft, and do not leak when washing the car. I will post more pictures soon. I removed the door sill plates to look at the floor pan and there is very minimal surface rust. No rust that will be a problem whatsover! I love this car, but have to sell because of financial troubles. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.

Dodge lets us drive 100-years' worth of history [w/videos]

A raft of important production models from the last hundred years were available for me to either drive or ride in.
Dodge is 100 years old this year. So, as happened on Ford's recent centennial, the 50-year birthday of the Porsche 911, and others, the company has an excuse to trot out the highlights of its history next to its upcoming model lineup, and declare that "these are the fruits of the Dodge Boys' tree whose roots have grown strong." Or something like that. Never so hampered by marketing skepticism that I'll pass up the opportunity to burn someone else's rubber, I was happy to drive out to Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills, MI - former grand estate of the Dodge family - to hear the spiel.

A Kentucky man has converted his 1939 Dodge pickup to an electric vehicle. Al Gajda of Lexington built the electric truck, which he now uses as his daily driver. "I take advantage of any excuse to drive it; just banging around town, errands, short runs on the interstate, delivering my granddaughter to school in the morning," he says. It is powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery, which is mounted in a wooden box on the truck bed, and gets about 100 miles per charge. Read more at the Lexington Herald-Leader. Elon Musk will speak at the Automotive News World Congress in January. The Tesla CEO is a featured speaker for the program, "Setting the Pace in a Thriving Market." Production of the Toyota Rav4 EV has ended. The shipment of the final Toyota EVs concludes Toyota's deal to source batteries from Tesla. Cadillac will likely show an improved version of the ELR at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The 2016 ELR will include unspecified "engineering enhancements," according to Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell. Uber executives, along with Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, have announced a major expansion of the ride-hailing company's Chicago headquarters. Uber also plans to add 420 jobs by the end of 2016. "Uber's new expanded headquarters will allow the company to continue its rapid growth and serve its riders and drivers throughout Illinois," says Governor Quinn. 2013 Dodge Durango R/T

Not too long ago, Chevrolet got itself into some trouble by throwing the SS badge on just about everything it produced, so I've always been a little hesitant about the seemingly excessive use of the R/T nameplate on Dodge vehicles. For the 2013 model year, every model in Dodge's lineup has an R/T trim level from Dart all the way up to the Durango. Although the R/T name used to signified models made for road and track, I doubt anyone would be delusional enough to assume the Durango - and some of the other models wearing this badge - are suited for any sort of track duty.
Still, when this 2013 Dodge Durango R/T rolled up for me to drive for the week, I couldn't help but take in its big, mean and imposing stance. Sure, if I had my choice of buying any of the Dodge R/T products, the Charger and Challenger would be my top picks for sure, but it's easy to say that the Durango would be a close third - far above the R/T versions of the Avenger, Journey and Grand Caravan.
