1989 89 Dodge Dakota Shelby Special Edition #719 Of 995 on 2040-cars
Rogers, Arkansas, United States
This auto is being offered from the Mickey Beagle Car “Hoard” with NO RESERVE. That concept seems to be gaining popularity now, however this “hoard” was not an obsession gone awry, but each one was selected for a specific purpose and was waiting its turn to be utilized in a future project. Mickey owned and operated a build shop in Rogers, Arkansas and the shop was broken into approximately a month and a half ago. As a parting gift, the thieves set the building on fire and the shop was a total loss (“Suspects”, yeah right, are now in custody). In many of these pictures you may see the fire damage on the building in the background. The owner of the property is not going to rebuild and is giving Mickey a deadline to vacate the premises, hence the only viable option is to sell off the projects. Bear in mind these are not my project cars and I know little about them. I will seek any answers I don’t know and get back to you in time. Happy bidding and thanks for looking. Hopefully this sad story has tugged on your heartstrings and makes you want to bid ridiculously on this item. (lol) Seriously, hope you can use these in your projects or as your projects and that they do not see their way to a future crusher. Check out my other auctions and don’t miss your next build from the Beagle Bunch! 42
This is #719 of only 995 total red Shelby Dakotas. There were 1475 in all. The rest were white. So, that being said, even though it is tired and needs restored, it is rare as collector autos go and they were only made this year, and they were packaged by the legendary Carol Shelby operation. This one runs strong and is fun doing burnouts and doughnuts; figure eights and stuff like that. This would be a cool father & son project truck, and an investment as it is only going to be more valuable as time goes on. The VIN is: 1B7FL96Y0KS131570 and it has a title.
Email with any questions. A $200.00 deposit is required via Paypal within three business days of close of sale with remainder to be paid in cash or cashier’s check upon pick-up. Buyer is responsible for pick-up; however seller is willing to coordinate w/you and assist in arrangements. Seller is willing to deliver within a 100 mile radius for reasonable fee. |

Cruise Woodward Avenue with Autoblog's Dodge Challenger Hellcat
Thu, Aug 20 2015While Autoblog was consumed by coverage of the increasingly important Monterey Car Week last weekend, there was another big even going on. The Woodward Dream Cruise is significantly lighter in terms of news, but there's no denying that it's a far bigger, and far more egalitarian than what the wine-and-cheese crowd experience on the links at Pebble Beach. The Dream Cruise crams tens of thousands of cars and over a million spectators along a four-lane ribbon of asphalt between Ferndale and Pontiac, MI. What's remarkable aren't these numbers, though, so much as the distances they travel. Owners and admirers come from far and wide, across the United States and in some cases across the globe, to take in the spectacle. This year, local radio and television coverage featured fans that traveled from Japan, Australia, and Europe, just to take in the cruise. Of course, we realize that not everyone can make the pilgrimage to Woodward Avenue. With that fact in mind, we decided to bring a bit of the Dream Cruise to Autoblog with a time-lapse video of the cruise route. You can experience the good (a Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Chevelle, and Oldsmobile Cutlass 442), the bad (the traffic jams), and the ugly (no, your 2003 Ford Focus does not qualify as a classic, get the hell out of the cruiser lanes). So join us, as we turn off 8 Mile Road behind the wheel of our 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and run north, through Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Huntington Woods, Berkley, Bloomfield Township, and Bloomfield Hills, before ending up on Wide Track Drive in Pontiac.
Will Dodge limit 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat to 1,200 units?
Sun, 20 Jul 2014With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile.
That's because, according to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production - in the first year, at least - to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger.
Reached for comment, SRT spokesman Dan Reid told Autoblog that "there is no plan to limit production of the Challenger Hellcat," echoing the words of Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis who told Edmunds: "We don't know what the market demand is." Which doesn't mean that it won't restrict production, but doesn't mean that it will, either. It just hasn't decided yet - or announced any such decision, at any rate - over what will be the final allocation strategy for what could be a game-changing muscle car. That is, at least, until new versions of the Mustang and Camaro come along in pursuit of Dodge's bragging rights...
2013-14 Dodge Viper recalled over faulty door handles
Fri, Apr 10 2015The 2013-14 Dodge Viper is getting a voluntary recall affecting 1,762 cars worldwide to replace their door-handle assemblies. Of the affected vehicles, FCA US reports there are 1,451 in the US, 160 in Canada, 17 in Mexico and 59 of them outside of NAFTA. After receiving three reports of doors either not closing or opening while driving a low speeds, FCA US engineers found a new sealant from a supplier didn't provide sufficient moisture protection to the electronic switches for the door latches. If the parts get wet, this can potentially cause a short circuit. The automaker is quite clear that are no reports of accidents of injuries from this problem. As always, the recall repairs will be done at no cost to owners, and FCA US will be getting in touch with customers soon about the problem. Related Video: Statement: Door-handle Assemblies April 9, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 1,762 cars globally to replace their door-handle assemblies. FCA US launched an investigation after the Company received three warranty claims linked to doors that failed to close or opened inadvertently while vehicles were moving at low speed. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. Engineers determined a sealant, newly adopted by a supplier, provided inconsistent moisture protection to the electronic switches that control the door latches. Switches exposed to moisture may short-circuit. Affected are approximately 1,451 model-year 2013-14 Dodge Viper SRT cars in the U.S.; 160 in Canada; 17 in Mexico and 59 outside the NAFTA region. Affected customers will be notified and advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed at no cost. Customers with questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.
